i would really like to have a dedicated modem for my connection though. Any suggestions?
*
looking to ur speedtest i believe thats not EDGE but GPRS... my first time using w810i, i got that speed too...
thrn i configure my network conection with maximum speed to 230400bps... if not mistaken my old configuration was
115200... so u have to chack back...

but if ur phone not support EDGE, nothing can do

i also got this problem. so annoy when surfing net. when i use to connect to my htc, it don't have this problem. this is the modem or digi problem? but when i connect this modem with maxis broadband, it don't have this problem....

wch5274,
u got solve this problem? got any solutions from digi cs? i called them...he said will report to network department and 2 days later only know the solutions.

now i open command prompt and ping yahoo or google non stop...but sometimes it will 'request time out'
*
I'll already answer u in private email...
How come u can use DIGI with maxis modem... its supposed lock.. or u already unlock it?
I think this modem optimize for 3G signal... not EDGE... thats y when using 3G signal, no disconnection issue happen (unless from provider)... i also use this modem when im using celcom (3G/HSDPA) a few weeks ago... no disconnection happen

exactly, i dont think Celcom realizes that the web now is full of media rich content which users would easily reach their cap limit.

Whats the speed you getting from the modem?
*
Thats because too many oldies over there... they can't cope new tech...

oops, i think you misunderstand my meaning,
BT is not BLUE TOOTH. what i means here is BitTorrent download.
*
HAHAHAHA...
irontech always like that...
he is very generous man and have lot of info in his head...
so u have to explain carefully mean dont use short term... biggrin.gif

For BT, if u see my post before, its depend on seeder..
i mean good seeder and not of total no of seeder...
if u get good seeder u can reach 29KB/s or its average are 25~30KB/s brows.gif
if u BT from dattebayo site which they got too many seeder.. u can get that speed...
and no cap limit

how come my torrent speed not stable? always get around 5kb/s oni. max i can get around 22kb/s but only sometime. what is the problem? i'm using nokia 2630 as modem, the signal is full bar. i wonder y i always get 5kb/s only . izit because i use 2630 as modem or that is the normal speed to in torrent using EDGE
*
as i mention before...
it depend on total no of seeder and good/generous seeder...
if u download file that have only few seeder, u'll not get full speed...
if the seeder very good, i mean they open full, u may get full speed...
also if there r lot of seeder...
however, the speed will be reduce if lot of leecher too ( unless the leecher already download more than 75% than they become seeder)...
so its not easy to tell y u get low speed as DIGI not block p2p..
there r lot of possibilities thats make u get that speed...

when u say sometime u get 22KB/s, i think its because the number of leecher...
no of leecher increase, ur download speed reduce

Sony Ericsson PC Suite able to detect DiGi 3G, also auto setup DiGi 3G profile for dial Up. I think the network is ready there, just the matter our current SIM card need upgrade to 3G SIM
*
SE PC suite no problem detecting 3G even HSDPA... but my pon... EDGE only cry.gif
lucky got w960i but i prefer to use huawei modem which i still kept for future 3G digi.. biggrin.gif
Im not sure if we need to change sim card... as some of us already receive testing 3G signal... if they can post the speed, its better so we know actual 3G speed...

I need to have a broadband, currently I have a Celcom broadband but connection was horrible for the past two nights, no idea during the day though. I was either too slow or my packets goes nowhere.

Anybody could share with me the maximum speed for EDGE? I know that they're going to upgrade to 3G and hopeful that by subscribing to EDGE, I could upgrade to 3G later on.

Anyway, Telekom is horrible .. applied for a line and it has been a month and with lot of run around by them.
*
max speed i got was 30KB/s but normally it average 22~29KB/s (200++kbps) rclxms.gif
so i satisfied with this speed because this is EDGE.. i wonder what speed we get if 3G digi come..
however, if u subscribe EDGE, u'll face slow web browsing compare celcom due its high latency..

No as latency would be a factor here. So its not possible to enjoy fast loading sites , it will take couple of seconds before it loads up
*
how bout u try it using digi prepaid fuyoh plan...
then u know their true capabilty at ur area as wireless really depend on total user and coverage

Yes, that was the term. MNP in short. I enjoy this when I was in Australia, switching from a telco to another without changing the number. Definitely less hassle because no need to do so much after changing to other telco.

Anyways, can someone post a screenshot of their speedtest result of EDGE? Would like to see the latency myself. Thanks.

all nice speed..
however i don't see that nokia with class 32 is better...
its still depend on your location and number of user...
and also how much speed that digi allow us to get...

yup, i cannot argue with u about that..those can be factors of why u cannot get the optimum speed..

perhaps im in a less congested area..bcoz of dat im able to get nice speed all the time..

juz when i switch the simcard from zte mf622 to my nokia 6120 i can immediately feel the difference in terms of speed..not only one occasion..many2 times i repeat this at different times...and i get the results better with nokia class 32..

i feel that nokia 6120 can grab data more readily compared to my ZTE..mayb it got better antenna im not sure..its hard to explain coz im not a technical expert..but from what i experience im confident to say that nokia 6120 performs better than my ZTE for EDGE..

class 32 = up to 290kb/s

class 12 = up to 230kb/s (if im not mistaken! sweat.gif )
*
mm.. about the class... i agree with u just how DIGI control the speed given to customer.. blink.gif
thats y u can't reach more than 230kbps although ur class higher...
Im not sure zte got different speed with ur hp but i already test with huawei e220, w810i, w960i(no EDGE) (i have all currently).. biggrin.gif
speed are same either w810i or e220... but w810i more stable compare e220 due to firmware issue (i read this from vodafone forum but not sure which country).. e220 facing disconneting issue which i believe most of EDGE user facing same problem...
okk... talking about the speed i got...
w810i = e220 = 180kbps ~ 224kbps (my highest download speed reach 30kB/s).... icon_idea.gif
until now my speed not change but like i said it depend on area and number of user..
u can see my post before for my proof or ask irontech as he already seen my speed many time using both equipment.. icon_rolleyes.gif

most edge/3g modem will just fit in standard class 10 edge hardware (to save cost?!  tongue.gif )
check with u, does your download consistent btw 22-28KB/s ??
*
yup i can say that ...
but not 24 hours as my battery flat before 24hours.. hehehhee
but what i can see from my download... its vary from 20~29kB/s...
if u use download manager... its better 24~30kB/s...
im quite happy with this speed...
however pages uploading slow due to high latency..

p/s: sorry not posting my current speed due im downloading large file using rapidshare rite now... heheheheh..
now i feel that my download very slow although my average download now around 26kB/s cause when using streamyx it can reach 60kB/s (512kbps)...

blink.gif huh.gif phone battery flat? I tot SE phone with USB charging together wont facing such problem??

one is true mobility..while tmnut is fixed.. pro & con on each others smile.gif
*
yeah, i also think like u.. and its true if u r browsing only.. but if download 24hours, my battery draining fast
i think its because when browsing only, data transfer at acceptable level.. however for downloading, we use at max speed..
