QUOTE(pornstar @ Jun 10 2008, 07:58 PM) The modem is good. Small and sleek. Most importantly it is an HSDPA modem that can reach 7.2Mbps but too bad Malaysia yet has such technology to support that speed. |

QUOTE(prasys @ Jun 10 2008, 08:23 PM) True. The modem is capable of reaching up to 7.2Mbps. But the problem with our cell phone towers are well they just don't have enough bandwidth to meet the demand. This is why they had to cap speeds to 128kbps/64kbps. I hope they do raise their cap to say 20-30GB and cap it to 256kbps and 128kbps. That would be fairer Too bad, DiGi has yet to come out with their 3G service. Currently their EDGE seems good and stable and they don't have cap for the users. I hope this will be the same when their 3G service is rolled out this year.Other competitors especially Celcom should really increase the allowed bandwidth, 5GB is just too little. I won't deny that Celcom does provide good speed but it seems the 5GB policy restricts the users from fully utilising the provided facilities. |

QUOTE(pornstar @ Jun 10 2008, 08:52 PM) exactly, i dont think Celcom realizes that the web now is full of media rich content which users would easily reach their cap limit. I'm not using any broadband now, previously I was using it for Celcom D68 that means the maximum speed I can get is 384kbps, I think the best speed I got was 410kbps. I got constant speed using it, above 300kbps before my speed got capped to 64kbps. Whats the speed you getting from the modem? |

Guys, I might be subscribing to DiGi EDGE because I'm a D' Campus user and I only need to pay RM 30 for one month unlimited usage. I've a few questions here and hoping someone could help to answer them.
I tried slotting in my DiGi SIM card and my area has full coverage of EDGE. So the maximum speed I can get? What about torrent? Can my MSN Messenger be connected using it? How about images or files uploading? I'm sick of Celcom broadband. Expensive but unreliable. The upload speed is miserably little thus it makes me difficult to post on LYN and upload any images or attachments to my e-mail. I'm hoping for positive outcome on DiGi EDGE. I don't mind slower speed but at least I know it is stable. Thanks for reading and waiting for replies. This post has been edited by fruitie: Mar 11 2009, 07:18 AM |

QUOTE(yongkailoon @ Mar 11 2009, 07:31 AM) Uploading images is still a pain with DiGi EDGE but stability wise it is good and speeds are pretty consistent. Well, I don't think so the upload speed is really the main factor for the posting difficulties with Celcom Broadband as the upload speed with DiGi EDGE isn't that great after all but still there's no problem replying in this forum. As long as it doesn't upload halfway and goes to error page. I tried using EDGE to post yesterday and to my surprise, though it is slow but it can be posted easily... |

QUOTE(shinjite @ Mar 11 2009, 10:07 AM) Maximum speed it depends, can be as high as 26KB/sec downloads Thanks for the reply. MSN messenger is not a problem. As for images and file uploading, it'll be slow but the speed is bearable. Just make sure to pray that you don't get any idle timeouts (it happens at times depending) Is there any way to counter idle timeouts? |

For every new registration, regardless any telco needs to pay RM 10 stamp duty and it is only one time payment.

Man, I'm using DiGi EDGE now and I seriously love the stability.
Windows Live Messenger can be easily connected. Though it is slow but it is smooth. Gonna finish off my Celcom broadband 5GB quota today. Added on March 11, 2009, 4:54 pm ![]() OK? This post has been edited by fruitie: Mar 11 2009, 04:54 PM |

QUOTE(suyee @ Mar 11 2009, 10:02 PM) Yes ,using share IP. Aww. Sad. But it's OK. Do you guys often get disconnection on DiGi EDGE? I just got my first disconnection. So far everything loads pretty fast. |

QUOTE(suyee @ Mar 12 2009, 01:17 AM) Alright. Nah, I'm not. I was on Celcom broadband and it was on shared IP too, I thought I can escape from sharing IP address with others. |
