QUOTE(fat16 @ Jun 28 2008, 06:44 PM) nowdays all 3g tower also hspda enable. u get hsdpa speed is another story. let hope big fat yellow man 3g can kick the celcom gprs broadband and mazis narrowband. suggest digi have diferent rate for diferent speed using diferent apn. let say digigprs - rm33/month, digi3g - rm44/month, digibroadband - rm55/month. |

QUOTE(wch5274 @ Jun 29 2008, 09:19 PM) QUOTE(amyhs99 @ Jun 29 2008, 11:51 PM) Really that slow? So DiGi EDGE is not meant for downloading. Just for normal surfing and chatting. Still waiting for DiGi to start their 3G business. |

QUOTE(chemart @ Jul 10 2008, 01:27 PM) my speed at this moment probably both using different edge's class? I recall the Nk 6120's edge is class 32, up to 296kbps on EDGE network which higher than most of the EDGE phone/modem ![]() maybe slower during lunch hour.. Added on July 10, 2008, 1:28 pmbtw, my location in usm kubang kerian Added on July 10, 2008, 2:35 pm ![]() after lunch hour.. currently test using nokia 6120 classic.. previous test using zte mf622..i have made comparison between ZTE mf622 and nokia 6120 classic several times recently.. indeed nokia 6120 is better for EDGE.. dunno why.. anybody care to explain? i'm thinking get one Nk6120 too. check with u since u using 6120.. 1 - how long does the battery could last if use as modem connected to pc/laptop w/o plug in charger cable charging?? 2 - how many mA does the XP/Vista's USB controller power consumption for 6120's USB modem connection? 3 - if power plugin to 6120's modem mode, will the battery life drain on heavy download? |

QUOTE(chemart @ Jul 11 2008, 12:41 AM) if u want to use with it EDGE only, i suggest u to buy EDGE-enabled phone instead opting for usb modem.. and i would like to suggest u Nokia 6120 classic.. i already check in website mobile88 it is GPRS/EDGE class 32.. while ZTE MF622 is only class 10 or 12.. trust me higher class makes a quite big difference for the speed.. i'm using nokia 6120 classic right now instead of using zte mf622 which i keep for future use with 3G/HSDPA (wait till them mature enuf).. with nk 6120 i can easily get 29 kB/s but with zte mf622 i usually only manage to reach 21 kB/s..seldom only i can get 29 kB/s.. when im in GPRS area, i managed to get up to 6.xx kB/s with consistent 5 kB/s, but with ZTE MF622 the speed fluctuate from 5 and 1.5 kB/s..for example it stay on 1.5kB/s for half an hour and then change to 5kB/s..then when u r idle for like 2 3 minutes it will fall again to 1.5kB/s..headache right?but with nk 6120 u wont encounter this problem.. THE BEST PART is when im in EDGE area, sometimes i forgot i'm using EDGE, i tot i was on 3G!!! (from my experience, sialcom way slower than EDGE coz it was so unstable).. so did i answer your question?... p/s: check this website Comfort Surf if u still want to buy usb modem, opt for one with class 32..zte mf622 is good for EDGE but not so good compared to nokia 6120 classic Added on July 11, 2008, 12:58 am 1 - depends on ur usage..if lite surfing after 1 hour still full bar....if heavily download after 1 hour half bar already..rough estimation la..mine is AP set 5 months of age already..maybe the battery is not so good already 2 - sorry i dun get ur question? 3 - if u r on power supply, sure no prob even though for heavy download..errr did i answer u rite? sorry i'm not really an expert in technical thing..juz basic2 only ma.. in a nuts shell, if u have the phone charger with u, juz plug in to ur phone, switch it on and u can fly (ok dats too much)..juz glide with DiGi EDGE to your heart's desire..in other words, till u feel like vomiting on ur laptop.. Added on July 11, 2008, 1:12 am yup really nice for EDGE..if only i can find cheap EDGE datacard class 32, i dun have to use this phone for this purpose only Added on July 11, 2008, 1:49 ami heard somewhere if u want to get 384kbps for EDGE, u have to use EDGE datacard provided from Digi..izzit true?anyone know which brand/model for DiGi EDGE datacard?its specifications? Added on July 11, 2008, 2:09 amnothing to boast with GPRS but currently i'm under GPRS area and here's the speed i got ![]() 44kbps = 5.5 kB/s Though it is slow but it is very very stable..not during this hours only..most all the time..at liz in my place.. Can still check email, login in ym, surf lite website.....most importantly can still login into LYN.. oh..its under Windows's Control Panel/System/Device Manager/Universal Serial Bus Controllers/USB Root Hub(there is one for Nk6120 when connected) /Properties/Power Example to my K850i, its take up 500mA. I need to check this reason is plan get the Nokia CA-100 cable so only two USB cable 1 for power 1 for data to the 6120 |

QUOTE(MAAG @ Jul 12 2008, 12:31 PM) most edge/3g modem will just fit in standard class 10 edge hardware (to save cost?! QUOTE(wch5274 @ Jul 12 2008, 03:32 PM) mm.. about the class... i agree with u just how DIGI control the speed given to customer.. check with u, does your download consistent btw 22-28KB/s ??thats y u can't reach more than 230kbps although ur class higher... Im not sure zte got different speed with ur hp but i already test with huawei e220, w810i, w960i(no EDGE) (i have all currently).. speed are same either w810i or e220... but w810i more stable compare e220 due to firmware issue (i read this from vodafone forum but not sure which country).. e220 facing disconneting issue which i believe most of EDGE user facing same problem... okk... talking about the speed i got... w810i = e220 = 180kbps ~ 224kbps (my highest download speed reach 30kB/s).... until now my speed not change but like i said it depend on area and number of user.. u can see my post before for my proof or ask irontech as he already seen my speed many time using both equipment.. |

QUOTE(wch5274 @ Jul 12 2008, 08:36 PM) yup i can say that ... but not 24 hours as my battery flat before 24hours.. hehehhee but what i can see from my download... its vary from 20~29kB/s... if u use download manager... its better 24~30kB/s... im quite happy with this speed... however pages uploading slow due to high latency.. p/s: sorry not posting my current speed due im downloading large file using rapidshare rite now... heheheheh.. now i feel that my download very slow although my average download now around 26kB/s cause when using streamyx it can reach 60kB/s (512kbps)... one is true mobility..while tmnut is fixed.. pro & con on each others |

QUOTE(wch5274 @ Jul 13 2008, 09:39 AM) yeah, i also think like u.. and its true if u r browsing only.. but if download 24hours, my battery draining fast i think its because when browsing only, data transfer at acceptable level.. however for downloading, we use at max speed.. QUOTE(pornstar @ Jul 14 2008, 10:17 AM) well as for me i will still get the mf622 despite its slower speeds because of its mobility. wanted to get the e220 but because of heat and disconnecting issues i didnt want to. I saw a good deal on the mf622 but FRUITIE got the last unit. Damn. the pricing has been drop from around Rm450 to Rm350 range..go search around LYN thread |

QUOTE(xwteoh @ Jul 17 2008, 10:27 AM) Ii juz get my modem. At 1st i'm choose to get ZTE MF622. But unfortunately, it cannot work with my DiGi EDGE. I have no idea what is going on. its normal issue for E220 as wch5274 did mention this problem on previous pages End up i called the seller to help me. There is no problem with the modem coz it's work wit celcom broadband. so i'm wondering izit the setting problem. But the seller is nice to change me e HUAWEI E220, coz i tried that modem wit my DIGi, it work. So now i'm using HUAWEI E220 now. quite satisfy with the speed. However, i found a small problem where when i left the connection idle for few second, even it didn't DC but i won't able to surf anymore. is anyone having this prob? QUOTE(MakNok @ Jul 17 2008, 10:47 AM) get the Sierra Wireless AirCard 875U......everything automatic detection... Sierra? more expensive than MF622/E220 isn't it? really plug and play.. i have tried it with Celcom,Digi and U-Mobile....not need to set, automatic detect.. just select the ISp,then surf liao.. My experience with Digi Edge, For Digi ...u need to connect many time to get a stable ip....although the signal show max bar But the only gripe i hate about Digi Edge is the latency issue....where the connection if idle for few sec...seem like cannot surf.. try downloading...u will see the speed occasionally dc for a while then ok,then dc,then ok... im thinking should get a Nk6210 classic for the better edge speed(hope so.. |

DiGi still using 2.5G (edge/gprs) technology, can't expect their speed go that far as their latency is quite high always. Good part is digi connection is much stable than others
