Apps that will be used :

sRGB screen for color accuracy, 4k screen if possible, no plan for gaming, long lasting laptop, most work done would be editing and other stuff linking to my course

Would like to ask here..
Finally i decided to go for Lenovo Legion Y520 notebook..
And, i saw seller printed gpu spec stated its gtx 1050 ddr5 4gb..and i ask the seller is the Ti version or not... Seller told if ddr5 4gb gpu it is the Ti version.. Just they didnt print it with Ti.
Is this true?
Btw.. Its Y520 15ikbn model rm4219.. Where i know it should not the Ti version.

I'm open for other recommendations aslong it will help me decide which to get.

There are GTX 1050 4GB Nvidia Geforce Notebook GPU. So do make sure it's the Ti version if that's what you're looking for.

thats means.. that lenovo y520 (gtx1050 ddr5 4gb) he recommended was not Ti version? as fa i googled... y520 wit price rm4219 should be non Ti version..

Update: The seller have made a mistake and just confirmed its non Ti version..

Glad you manage to get the answer. Do note that even the non-Ti version of GTX 1050 still outperforms the GTX 960M. But there are GTX 1050 Ti notebooks that are sold around that price, so do browse a little bit more if you prefer the higher spec GPU.

how much difference between gtx1050 and gtx965m (im currently using msi ge62)?
i did found out acer vx15 have lower price for 1050ti but not really like the design, and commando's or illegear hv good price too, but i try to prioritize stock from local store 1st rather order and courier one (im from sarawak)..
dell 7567 really catches my eyes with its design..but the screen.. really that bad?

inspiron 7567 screen bad when come to photoshop ... if gaming.. not much different.. in fact low end IPS without worse gaming experience than gaming TN panel

If you're currently using GTX 965M for GPU, then I would recommend upgrading to GTX 1060 3GB and above since GTX 1050 will perform around the same as that GPU and GTX 1050 Ti not significantly faster than it too.

I can't help you regarding the display for notebooks though, sorry. What I can say is, my G51JX is using TN panel, and movies on it isn't great due to limited viewing angle. But that is TN panel from 2010, maybe they've much improved this year.
