QUOTE(Nursh @ Mar 26 2017, 05:49 AM) Ipad? But I'll have to use program such as SPSS, PowerPoint, M. Office. However I do have another high performance desktop, so I'll only bring the notebook to college to do some typical college student stuff such as typing assignment/reading etc... P.point and m.office can be used on iPad . Only spss can't. At 1.5k I don't think you'd be able to get a decent laptop that fits your needs of thin, light etc. You would probably run into problems trying to run spss on a 1.5k laptop too

Hi guys, appreciate your inputs on a laptop recommendation with the criteria:
1. Preferred brand : Any 2. Budget : rm2.7k max 3. Usage : movies, web surfing, word/excel/powerpoint, general use 4. Screen Size : 14" FHD 5. others: intel i5, 4gb ram, dedicated graphics card
currently looking at asus a456ur and asus k401. however the screen quality was abit disappointing eventhough they were FHD. didnt look as good as say the HP Pavilion 14-al102tx with IPS display. is there a laptop that combines the screen of the hp with the specs/design of the asus?

Hi sifus, I am new here and I need help getting a new laptop. 1. Preferred brand : just not HP 2. Budget : around 3k, max 3.5k 3. Usage : programming (mostly on web developing) + occasional gaming 4. Screen Size : 13 inch - 14 inch 5. RAM : as long as there's a slot for upgrade, it's all good. 6. Weight : Not above 2.5kg ( will be bringing to work so I hope for something that is not too heavy)
The space doesn't matter but I hope I can get a laptop with good graphics card (might do some editing due to my job) and also in SSD.
I went to Lenovo store just now and I have my eyes on Lenovo IdeaPad 710s and Lenovo IdeaPad 510s 13 inch. The ideapad 710s is using Intel HD graphics whereas ideapad 510s is using AMD Radeon R5 M430 2gb ddr3. The thing is, I have no idea what's the difference. I am open to any suggestions. Thanks in advance!
