any credit card is good for petrol?

annual fees = free or with minimum swipe per month / less than 1000 spend per month
petrol rebate = 5% on shell with no t&c of minmum spend

currently using citibank cashback platinum got 5% but will be revised next month.

anyone can recommend any card?  hmm.gif

Which credit card can be used currently to maximise the online cashback to enjoy full online benefit to pay for TNB bill? I used to use shopee but now they do not have TNB payment option anymore.
*
there are sellers in shopee doing tnb payment, just NOT publicized as TNB

not must 5%, just dont want those with many t&c like only on weekend or after certain amount swipe only entitle certain %
*
if no restriction to cashback %, then FCB VS 2% is ok for all-day petrol pump.

just wonder

2% Cash back for all purchases all year long (except May and August) and capped at maximum of RM 50 per month.
10% Cash back for all purchases made in the month of May (football season ends) and August (football season begins) and capped at maximum of RM 100 during the specified month.

above statement is only valid for local transaction or even included oversea? hmm.gif
*
I think ok also. can't confirm cuz mine all local spending.

*

FD pledging for credit card is possible.

no need find lubang, just ask the from the official source: BANK

give them a call and ask. diff bank, diff card, has diff FD pledging amount.

Regarding cash-back cards, I notice most cards have a low monthly limit of like RM30-50 max for cash back.

Got any cards with higher cash back limit per month, like RM100 or more?
*
you're more interested on the CB instead of the effective rate huh?

there are few unlimited CB too, you're interested? or HLB Wise gives RM100 cb?

Hi all, I am interested to apply for the PB Quantum Mastercard for Dining + On9 Shopping CB.

But if I received the complimentary PB Q Visa, can I just cut off the Visa and dispose it as I don't plan to use it or can I call in to PBB to cancel it?

Thanks!
*
last i asked CS, you can cancel either Quantum card, unlike Maybank2Cards.

Yea and currently using it too....now looking for weekday usage since everyday willl need to pump petrol.
Try to maximize all cash rebate to cover car expenses.
*
since ur bro is a grab driver (which region/area?), can try go to Petronas @ Sungai Besi-Puchong Bypass.

use MBB Ikhwan Visa Petronas, reload max RM625 into Petronas Gift Card for max RM50 cashback. since avg spending is RM50/day, probably just enough to last for 1.5-2 weeks.

use combination of other cards to gives Petrol cashback, e.g use MBB Ikhwan Mastercard, reload max RM1,000 on Saturday for RM50 cashback.

Pro: use the Petronas Gift Card anydays. good to combine with Grab Mesra Fuel Savers Programme (ending 30 Apr) or Grab-Mesra 5X card.
Con: reload at this Petronas got 1% surcharge, eg reload RM500, surcharge RM5, staff swipe RM505 into credit card.

if too lazy or not convenient, use MBB FCB VS with 2% cashback instead.

i think FCB is the better option, especially when May and August, you will get 10% cashback.
*
depends on the user. the grab driver still need to drive on other months too laugh.gif

of course prioritize FCB VS on May/Aug is better for petrol, but who knows he has other usage too.

Ehhh, quite a good idea! I'll just reload 300-400 on weekend using Ikhwan Petronas then I can use on weekdays.

Any cons on using the gift card? Like below 10 bucks cannot use and etc hmm.gif  hmm.gif
*
not that i'm aware of.

the gift card is a prepaid card. u reload and use.

for petronas, not sure what is the max amount per reload. need to ask.

if your rm300-400 reload, surcharge would be rm3-4, staff swipe rm303-404 to your Ikhwan Visa Petronas card. 8% cashback is based on RM303-404, so nett cashback is about 7%

Eh, why is it 7%? I thought 8% - 4% then it would be 5% nett cashback?

why -4%?

1. Annual Income: 40k

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Yes or waive with swipe

3. Card required for: 0% EPP

4. Existing credit cards (if any): Maybank 2 gold

5. Interested in CC from: any

6. Others: Want to have my lasik surgery (vision correction) at Ara Damansara Medical Center with this card, so high CL is preferred and can zero installment like 2 year

Thanks all sifu-sifus
*
can try PBB Quantum cards.

no AF, but it has 0% 12-month FlexiPay.

swipe your lasik surgery fee with Quantum, then call CS to convert it to 12-month installment.

best credit card to spent RM10K (down payment for Car)
*
pls follow template, especially your existing card(s) if any.

if u have other cards with Online/general cashback, probably can maximize these cards and load it into BigPay card. once accumulated till downpayment amount (may take about 4 months+), then go swipe bigpay at car showroom.

might not be feasible too because once SST takes effect on Sep 2018, price would increase biggrin.gif

After looking through some of the cashback cards, i think that these cards will suit my need:
Standard Chartered Platinum Cashback Card: for online purchasing, tech stuff etc, and utilities bill.
Citi Cashback Card: petrol, dining, groceries, grab.
Any opinions on it? Any other better recommendations?
*
follow template in post #2

there are reasons for the template. we do not know what you have, what you use for/how much, etc

we can recommend 101 cards toyou, but probably all would not be applcable to you as well.

read the features carefully, read the T&C carefully. dont assume from what your friend told you.

follow template in post #2, here so that users can recommend properly.

Thanks for the info! I was considering getting the Maybank card to pair it with a the Petronas gift card until I read your caveat......now I think I'll just go for the CIMB Petronas card instead, 7% rebate and I get to pump it everyday.
*
cimb petronas 7% is not straightforward. iinm, your statement balance at least rm3k then only can hit 7% cashback tier.
