Is your item readily available? For item like iPhone 13 which need to wait few weeks, when pay using Amex, we will receive charged notification but actually the transaction only appear on the statement on shipping day. I did not get any cashback when using Amex due to this based on my experience.
*
OK, to be fair I bought iPad and other accessories last year and this year. iPhone yes but many years ago, details almost forgotten but I did remember getting cash back.
My iPhone 12PM was bought from Digi last year, so no issue. tongue.gif

r u seriously going to apply a card just for the cashback on the phone?
those high percentage cashback card has a cap on eligible spending, so effectively probably get around 1%?  hmm.gif
if get 12 month 0% instalment plan, save the reducing balance in fixed deposit @ 1.90% p.a. will probably result in interest around RM 50?
but...RM 50/RM 5799 ~ 0.9%, not 5%
*
Did he say that he is going to apply a new card? laugh.gif
Err.. What are you talking? Why suddenly put in percentage here? FD here? It is just a generic question about cash back card.

I don't know about him but I have about 25 cards (exact no. unknown because I don't count), so I know which card will give me the best return. I also have Maybank2Premier Cards which I can use to convert airmiles. But he is asking for cash back, so I can only suggest based on his needs.

well, my misunderstanding then
like u said, the best return, which does not necessarily restrict to cashback
when the CC instalment feature is utilised, u r maximising the free cash flow available since big ticket item does not benefit well from cashback feature
if thinking outside of the box is irrelevant, disregard my comment thumbsup.gif

He only asked for cash back. So yeah, only cash back and straightforward answer.

1. Annual Income: 200k

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Free if possible, if not able to waive on usage

3. Card required for: Groceries, Monthly Bill payment, insurance payment, online shopping

4. Existing credit cards (if any): Maybank 2 Card (Gold), Standard Chartered JOP

5. Interested in CC from: Looking for best benefits for air miles and airport lounge access

6. Others: my current usage on JOP is around 3-5k per month, looking to change and earn some airmiles as I plan to start travelling more frequently
*
Maybank2Cards Premier, you can shift most of the transactions (some exclusion applies) there to earn TP and convert to airmiles. So far, it is the best card for airmiles in Malaysia. RM 80k to waive AF.

Annual Fee and SST charge by gov are two different things?
So even Annual Fee got waive, we still have to pay for SST (RM50) per year?
*
Annual Fees charged by bank, SST charged by government. SST is RM 25 though. Yes, even if AF is waived, you will still need to pay SST. Banks cannot waive SST but can give rebate to offset, depending on banks though. Some may give, some may not.

With so many banks/cards start removing or reducing cash back benefits for e-wallet spending, I think I want to switch my focus to airmiles now. What other cards can I apply on top of M2Premier cards, Citi PremierMiles and SCB WMC? What about UOB VI and AmBank VI/WMC? Main spending will come from e-wallet and online shopping.

I also have PBB VI now though I don’t know how much it helps when it comes to airmiles. laugh.gif

I’m OK with any FFP but my preference is still KrisFlyer. biggrin.gif

1. Annual Income: RM120k

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Preferably, by x amount of swipes

3. Card required for: E-wallet topup (Shopee pay, TnG, Boost), Dining, Petrol, Grocery

4. Existing credit cards (if any):
a) MBB 2 cards
b) PBB VS Signature (cancelling soon)
c) PBB Quantum Visa & Mastercard (cancelling soon)

5. Interested in CC from: UOB Yolo

6. Others: Cancelling PBB cc as they no longer give cashback for e-wallet topup. I am looking for CC to maximize cash back for e-wallet top up & contactless transaction.
*
PBB VS and Quantum Visa are still useful for dining and groceries.

I would categorize dinning and grocery as "contactless transaction" and my main spend is still the e-wallet top up which total up about RM1.5k per month.
Prefer to consolidate and utilize the cashback in 1 CC. Any recommendation?

Thank you!
*
There is no one card that can fit all purposes.
If you insist, Affin Duo for e-wallet then.

Bro I'm a user of sutera and they removed the lounge access recently. Conversion rates is 12000 cc points to 1000 enrich points. Which is myr 12 to one point. But based on our 8x. Meaning 1 myr spending x 8 multi =8 myr to 1 point
*
Err... It is 12000 points = 1000 miles.
RM 1,500 (*8) = 12000 points
RM 1500 = 1000 miles
RM 1.50 = 1 mile.

My advice is to get all the airmiles cards in the market. That’s what I’m doing. biggrin.gif

You can consider AmEx Plat charge card too. That’s a good card.

which card should be priority spending first more than others?

Amex Plat Charge card is the 190K annual income one right? is that a good card to get miles? or just those benefits?
i don't really dine and wine in fine restaurant or stay in signature hotel so does this card still matter?
*
Yes, that's the one.
Good for miles too. Use it whenever accepts AmEx of course some exclusions apply for that card. You can read more in the website.

Hi may I know which is the best cc for points to miles conversion, to krisflyer miles. Is it still m2c premier? Or there’s new card around better than m2c premier?

Wondering if we still can pledge FD to apply it. Previously I pledge 30k for m2c premier.
*
AmEx Platinum Charge Card. smile.gif Cannot pledge FD for this card but feel free to correct me.

For someone with almost all the premier cards in the market, I want to say it is not easy to collect airmiles nowadays. Especially if you want to spend on local retail, but overseas transactions are still doable.

I have CIMB World Travel Elite, and since the 10x bonus points expired this year, I haven't been able to find a replacement until today. sad.gif

Airmiles games are more challenging than the good old days.

No doubt it is a good card but the requirements though:

Annual Income: RM 250K p.a
Annual Fee RM 1,215.09 (waiver is tiered 100% if spending is RM 240K above, 50% for 120K above).

The following activities excluded from point collection....

(a) Cash advances, cash withdrawals, cash deposits and/or betting or gaming transactions;
(b) Retail transactions in respect of purchases of petrol, diesel and any other purchases made at the petrol kiosk;
© Retail transactions which are disputed by the Cardholder;
(d) Transactions made using prepaid credit balance which is the amount paid into the Cardholder’s credit card account minus any amount used on credit by the Cardholder. For example, if a Cardholder’s original credit limit is RM50,000 and he/she uses RM10,000 from the credit limit and then pays RM30,000 into the credit card account, the balance of RM20,000 paid
(RM30,000 payment minus RM10,000 utilization) is the prepaid credit balance. If the same Cardholder does not use his/her credit card at all but pays RM20,000 into the credit card account, the RM20,000 is the prepaid credit balance;

(e) Payment of the annual fees or service charges, delivery charges, cash payments, card replacement fee, government service tax, dispute charges, fraud charges, interest/finance/profit charges/facility charges for CIMB Islamic Credit Card, cash advance fees, processing fees, or any other kind of fees and/or penalties whether imposed by CIMB or
otherwise;
(f) Instalment payment plan transactions;
(g) Auto billing / direct debit / recurring transactions (not applicable to Merchant Credit Card and e Credit Card)
(h) Payments to charity under designated MCC 8398-Charitable and social service organisations (not applicable to CIMB Preferred Visa Infinite-i Credit Card);
(i) Any government related payments under designated MCC below: -
9211 Court costs, including alimony and child support
9222 Fines
9223 Bail and bond payments
9311 Tax payments
9399 Government services
9402 Postal services – government only
9405 Intra-Government Purchases-Government only
(j) JomPAY, FPX and/or Duitnow QR transactions.
(k) E-wallet transaction under designated MCC 6540.

It was good until 31.12.23. smile.gif I had a good one year in 2023 and a couple of months in late 2022 when it was just launched. I collected tons of miles from it.
Since I have spent more than enough for AF waiver, I'm keeping it until my AF in Nov. Only use it occasionally when I go overseas, even that my other card gives better conversion. It was a good card for local retail, not anymore after this year.
