Travel card. Citibank won.
Cash rebate. Uob & citibank

All less than 10% cash back. So sad, even petrol has capping. Bank wants to slaughter your money.

Now they open 'water tap' to lure more customers in.
*
Er.. Which travel card and why Citibank?
Which cash rebate card for UOB and Citibank?

1. Annual Income: RM43k above

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: Yes

3. Card required for: Cash Back for dining, applicable for all outlets

4. Existing credit cards (if any): At the moment 'No'. Planning to apply Ambank Carz credit card soon for petrol usage only

5. Interested in CC from: Any

6. Others: Seeking for a CC with highest cashback meant for dining and no annual free
*
HLB MACH for dining. Free AF with just 12 swipes per year, first year is free AF.
On another note, why AmBank Carz for petrol? You have to leave outstanding balance just to get that little cash back. Not worth for it at all. Try applying Maybank Ikhwan MasterCard and Visa Petronas instead, free AF. You just need to pump on Fridays-Sundays depending on which card. Head over to Ikhwan thread.

Thanks for the recommendation.
I pump petrol mostly on weekdays compared to weekends. And I travel a lot too, average 80-100km per day. Usually I pump petronas/petron/bhp, while others very rare. I choose ambank carz because of the high % cash back. Monthly spending about rm300+- for petrol solely. Please share with me if you have better suggestion of CC that can benefit me more than ambank carz can provide smile.gif
*
AmBank Carz only gives higher cash back if you don't pay full every month, you will be penalized with interest though.
Ikhwan cards are good for you, at least you can pump during weekends and last you few days during weekdays. Then, if you really want, UOB One Plat with AF though, first year is free. Citibank Cash Back also with AF but first year is free.
Or 2% CIMB Cash Rebate plat, no AF.

QUOTE(imnotabot @ Jan 23 2017, 07:34 AM)
How about Maybank Ikhwan + AEON BiG Classic/Gold + CIMB CR? The first gives you 5% petrol cashback on Friday and Saturday. The second gives you 5% on Sunday only. The third gives you 2% cashback on any day. If you pump full tank on Sunday night and can survive until Friday, then you can easily get 5% for the entire month by timing your fuel ups. But if you fail to do so, at least you'll get 2% cashback from CIMB CR.

Maybank Ikhwan and CIMB CR has no annual fee. AEON BiG Classic/Gold does have an annual fee, but it can be automatically waivered with 12 swipes in a year.
*
I already suggested Maybank Ikhwan Petronas which gives 8% on Saturdays and Sundays but only limited to Petronas.

Hi Team,

Sorry for the lazy way to drop the question here.

What card gives the best % rebate for these below since the Posonline case is being dragged for sometime;

- All other adhoc payments beside the norm, groceries, petrol, bills
- Direct/Auto Debit facilities such as gym memberships/insurance

I got a feeling we might be looking at 2-3 separate cards to get some rebates from the above.

Thanks

Looks like Maybank Islamic PETRONAS Ikhwan Visa Gold Card-i fit my needs than Ambank Carz.
"8% Cash Back on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and 1% Cash Back on weekdays (Monday to Friday) for every PETRONAS spend. (capped at RM 50 per month)"
Just curious, is there a cc that have higher cash back if pump petrol during weekdays (Mon to Fri)? I usually pump petrol during weekdays  hmm.gif

may i ask which cc give best discount on the purchase at Lazada?
thank you.

Cards like UOB and CIMB have card promos on certain items on fixed day. CIMB on Mondays while UOB on Tuesdays. So if apply CIMB CR, you will get additional 5% and UOB YOLO will get 6% cash back on top of those promos. Not forgetting if you also purchase via links from Shopback, you will get some cash back (not much though).

4. Existing credit cards (if any): Maybank Ikhwan Petronas, Ikhwan Gold Mastercard, HSBC Amanah

5. Others: Only looking for CASHBACK. I won't be making purchases from departmental stores/retail shops often but it would be good knowing that I can get some cashback when I make some expensive purchases.

2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: a MUST

4. Existing credit cards (if any): Citibank Shell card (Planning to terminate by year end since they have already charged me after 1 year 1 day.  vmad.gif )

5. Others: Only looking for CASHBACK + annual waiver.

- The one I think fits into my category are Maybank and CIMB cash back.
- Won't be spending more than 2k so HLB is kind of out of question, plus they have annual fee.
- Have installment with HLB.
*
Maybank Ikhwan Master Card and Petronas Visa for petrol.
CIMB Cash Rebate for online.
HLB MACH for dining and movie.

Well... CIMB CR has 2% of petrol cash back.
I rather have multiple cards to maximize my cash back rather than sacrificing on certain categories.
For Maybank Ikhwan if you use other brands than Petronas, then you can choose MasterCard for 5% cash back for petrol and groceries on Fridays and Saturdays.
If you use Petronas most of the time then choose Petronas Visa for 8% cash back on expenses in Petronas on Saturdays and Sundays.
If you find two Ikhwan cards are heavy, then choose only one.

What's the current best Mobile CB card ? I have been using HLB WISE but cancel it since Rm 2000 is kinda hard for me to achieve.  I Use Citibank to Get Maxis 2% but for Celcom and Digi i am not sure which card offers CB. Anyone can advise ?
*
UOB YOLO and if you have at least 100k per annum, then PBB VS is a better choice as AF is waived with just 12 swipes.
UOB YOLO has AF and it's a new card, so not sure if UOB will waive it in second year. First year is free.

But YOLO need to achieve RM 500 in order to get CB. i prefer card with any condition.. Even 2% Cash Rebate will do
*
Then auto billing with CIMB CR for 2% and Celcom gives additional 5% discount if perform auto-billing. You didn't mention your expenses per month, from the way you described as if huge mobile expenses. smile.gif

Anyway, one YOLO card seems to be insufficient for me. I wish I have more than one. laugh.gif
Earlier I thought I cannot achieve 800 per month for 6% cash back but it looks like it's easier than I thought. laugh.gif With UniFi bills and I'm an avid online shopper. tongue.gif

Wow that MBB card seems perfect for me .... that annual fee is kinda hardcore though since Im only using it for Petrol, but Maybank is quite linient in waiving the fees no? Can use the usual tactic "u no waive i cut the credit card lo?"
*
You are wrong. Maybank is not lenient at all when it comes to AF waiver. That cancel trick doesn't work on Maybank. They will not entertain any waiver request.

Hmm. I'm just curious how can you hold more than 2 issuers' cards? 36k and below per annum can only hold 2 issuers' cards.

Anyway, back to your question. HLB MACH for 5% dining and AF can be easily waived with 12x swipes per year.

Car loan - no. You cannot.
Insurance - depending on amount as some cards with AF.
For TnG, you can reload from Jaya Grocers and few petrol stations using your MasterCard Ikhwan and get 5%. See the list contributed by users here: https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=3757650

Honestly, no better choice than Maybank Ikhwan MasterCard (Fridays and Saturdays) and Ikhwan Visa Petronas (Saturdays and Sundays). Free AF. 5% cash back for MasterCard and 8% for Visa Petronas.

Else, you can apply CIMB Cash Rebate which only gives 2% for petrol and groceries.

Utilities, I can think of YOLO but you wanted free AF, it is only free for first year.
