You mean TEST Channel(CH998)?

Looks like Kix 360 will be next Astro Go exclusive channel. Or is this astro website have glitch.. hmm.gif Just give us Aniplus & K+ on TV.. mad.gif doh.gif
[attachmentid=8914636]

No, not this. The TEST channel that currently has several channels on FTA including tvN Movies cannot be tuned on any Astro boxes.
Only those universal satellite receivers can tune into the channels, such as Freesat, Skybox, Openbox all those.

Unless you got a universal satellite STB such as Freesat, Skybox, Openbox all that, you can get those channels by auto scan satellite channels, using your Astro dish.

KIX 360 also features exclusive programs such as fighter interviews and behind-the-scenes programming, not seen on KIX and KIX HD.

From what I see, it seems to make sense that KIX 360 channel is dedicated to only made available on OTT platform instead of a linear TV channel.
Because not every viewers likes to watch those kind of programmes...

What I am saying is, don't give too much hope on MYTV digital TV (referring to the FTA one, myFreeview) to provide good quality content.

If you want good quality content, you got to pay for it. That's Malaysia government style. So in the future when MYTV launches the subscription version using MYTV Advance STBs, then you shall see good content being offered.

You say that myFreeview style is to offer free channel only? And paid good channel same like astro b.yond postpaid style? hmm.gif Don't mind for me to pay more if i can get good HD channel from them.. rclxm9.gif
*
The name itself already explains. "myFreeview", this "platform" under MYTV Broadcasting company is meant for FTA digital TV channels only. Always free and only free.

Only after that, MYTV will offer channels where it is encrypted/scrambled under digital TV where you need "MYTV Advance" STB that comes with smart card to watch those channels (same like Astro), so this is a subscription/pay TV service, but it is a terrestrial pay TV service, unlike Astro, which is a satellite pay TV.

Always delay delay tongue.gif

Previously yes. The DTT rollout in Malaysia is dragging too much time already. It was planned to be completed in around few year back, but eventually it was finalised recently instead of few years back.

In terms of service availability and coverage, I can see they are speeding up the progress recently. But in terms of channels and content, I see almost no progress.

Who cares about that..
We want more HD channels..
I mean "pure" international one.. Not some rubbish in house rojak HD channels bruce.gif
*
You won't get "pure" feeds one. Every pay TV around the world will tend to lower the video bitrate before deliver the channels to customers.

If you want to enjoy pure, original quality, with no delays, no commercials slot in by pay TV, then watch channels from satellite (C band) that uses Powervu encryption. Like I said before many times already, this is the only way for you to watch the channel in original quality. You'll need a satellite receiver (that able to decrypt Powervu encryption) and a parabolic dish (recommended 6 feet). Don't dare to install parabolic dish? Then no original quality channels for you. I'm serious.

For example AXN HD on Measat 3 C band, video bitrate is around 10Mbps but Astro is only 5Mbps (I know cuz I check before). So if you compare side by side, sure got difference in terms of video quality and picture detail.

i got this offer

astro called me telling me that i am already a customer for 5 years

so they wanna give me HD upgrade at a minimum price

all this while, my package was Family (Chuen Min) + Learning + Sports and i didnt subscribe HD at all
so the bill all this while is RM96

so with this HD, i will get upgrade such as additional of all the HD channels in Chuen Min, additional of all the HD channels in Learning and also additional of all the HD channels in Sports.

altogether pay only extra RM4

so now the bill is RM100 and my package is now known as Starter Pack + Sports

i sent PM to Astro FB to double confirm about this deal and they confirmed there is such a deal and i checked my bill, it is indeed RM100.

i checked astro's brochure and found out that such package that i am in now after the upgrade got similarity iaitu Chuen Min Extra + Sports + Learning or Chuen Min + Sports + Learning + HD....both combinations bring to RM114 and RM122 respectively. no matter how we see it, it seems like i saved RM14 and RM22 respectively..

good deal to me....i dun mind about the hidden clause of auto renewal of contract....

May you share with us a screenshot on your latest Astro bill? Just the Invoice Summary section will do (top section like address, account number all that no need...). I hope to see how is the promo works, and how Astro charge the rates for the promo they offered to you.

When is the last time you see Astro is being so generous to customers, or even to you?

That one is not generous. That one is trying to pull you back from terminating their service. Give you all sorts of offers that you and I never hear before, preview this and that, free this and that to amuse you, so that you will still be their customer.

Don't be surprised. This is very normal for Astro.

the aspect ratio need to change at least to  letterbox. it really frustrating to watch crop pic. especially when you dont get HD option to subscribe via njoi
*
Nobody likes letterbox, man... Most of the viewers want to see the image to fully fit into their TV screens rather than having black bars, and also at the correct shape (aspect ratio).

For Astro, just because of favour SDTV over SD channel format, they'll make it native 4:3 in some of their own made ads like Astro First/Best/OD (I don't care) and some of its content.
Haiz.... Majority of Malaysians already using HDTV 16:9 la.....
In 2017, centre cut (cropping the sides of 16:9 to make it become 4:3) any channel/content is utterly stupid to me.

Njoi boxes do support HD. Astro Maya HD, Go Shop (ch118) are one of the examples.

Of course Astro won't offer so much HD channels on Njoi platform, because they do that on purpose.
What is it, you ask? Well, how much you pay to enjoy more HD channels on Astro? And what do you pay for Njoi to watch HD? I guess you know the answer.

For Astro, everything is money.

Any multiroom from astro iptv acct here?

Is the second decoder connected to the internet line?

can it stand alone connecting only to the dish?
*
The second box (Multiroom) under Astro IPTV, can choose either Hybrid mode or IPTV mode.
Means, if your installation setup allows IPTV mode to work (has a LAN cable connection to your router), then you can go ahead with IPTV mode.

If there's no LAN cable connection to your router but you can connect to your satellite dish, then you can go ahead with Satellite mode (Hybrid mode).

Comedy Central is no longer delay 1 hour in Malaysia??

Previously, you'll see a separate time slot for "MAL" with the difference of additional 1 hr from PH/SG/HK time.

If can use foreign satellite for DTH service.. Then good..
But seems like our gomen not keen.. National security issues ph34r.gif

So best bet, is MYTV paid version...
*
Oh yes. By right, if there is a company wants to set up satellite pay TV (DTH) service, they can choose whichever satellite that meet their requirements (e.g. satellite beam coverage, signal performance, etc.) and they are able to afford for the transponder bandwidth pricing for the particular satellite provider, and many other factors. So it is not only limited that it must be Measat.

But, at this point, do you think it will be easy for a company to have satellite pay TV service after Astro been monopoly for so many years?
