I think debit card is required to apply for online banking and to transfer money online. It happened to me few days ago. Initially I had a bsa without card. I was able to register online banking with my credit card but then discovered that I could only view my bsa and couldn't transfer money from it online. So I was told by a rm to apply for a debit card and register for another online banking with the debit card in order to do online transfer. It works after that. But strangely I wasn't charged a cent for the debit card (as of now according to my account transaction).

Cimb preferred current account many charges. Less than 20k no interest. Rm10 half yearly charge if av balance less than rm1k. Cancellation fee is rm20 if less than 3 months, more than 3 months is rm10. Debit card's annual fee is rm15. That's why I cancelled it after 3 months (previously got special fd rate with pca) n so didn't go for the recent 50k/200k bundled fd promotion.

Just placed one at mbsb today. 24months at 4.67% interest paid quarterly. At the same time opened a saving acct Cash Rich with high rate and no fee. Was told there will be new promo/nego rate next week.

Depends on individual la. 60months is too long for me. But surprisingly the rate is higher for 24months but interest paid quarterly.

My ocbc was due today so I called yesterday. Yesterday they told me the rate was 4.65% for 24 months n 4.5% for 18 months both interest upon maturity. This morning i called again surprisingly the offer got better so I immediately took it. I was new customer so needed to fill many forms including the ones for saving acct. I left the completed forms for them to process as I got thing to do and came back to collect the cert and deposit the required rm100 for the saving acct (min to be maintained is rm50 so I'll come back to withdraw rm50 after today). Overall it wasn't slow. Btw I was the only customer at those times..

It's stated in the cert. I'm in kuching and there's only one branch here 😅

went affin for the 4.5% promo today. was told that they have a new promo - 4.4% for 15months term. i didn't ask for the details as i was after the longer term one.

Just placed the 4.65% 24months at BI kuching. According to the counter the promotion will end on 10/5/19.

I just placed the 15-month one this afternoon at 4.23%. Interest payment is 6 monthly. I think the 12 month one is 4.05%

Just wanna share with u what happened to my FD at MBSB.

The bank forgot to credit the quarterly interest into my saving account for two quarters until I notified them! Obviously the statement shows that the interests shall be paid out quarterly but the system failed to execute that! The staffs said the officer forgot to maintain the FD! They then credited the interests which were hanged in the system! And I even had to instruct them to give me the saving interest that was lost as a result! Only after a week upon my follow-up, then they credited the saving interest for me and yet not the right figure! Now they are still working on it to give me the correct amount.

PS: But even though they made this mistake, I still took up the 5.5% promo

Just to share my experience here. My cimb matured yesterday so i rentas it to hlb (foc as i'm a preferred member but won't be soon as i've only a few rm with them now ). Then i went over to hlb the staff didn't know about the tia-i promo n needed to make a call . Then was told that it's an investment and needs to be subscribed online. On the spot i did it on my handphone. Will update here when it matures 6 months later whether i get the 4.25% per annual profit . Of course hope i can win one iphone too

Just came back from MBSB for the 4.25% promo which ends today. Shifted my money from OCBC360 which has now dropped to 3.6%

yes at kuching branch. only read about the ocbc360 rate drop during lunch hour and so only managed to transfer rm30k which is the daily limit to mbsb

I’m moving my money from scb privileged saver to alliance bank fd. The promotion rates of 3.35% n 3.5% resp for 12 months n 5 months step up fd ends today.

At affin bank now. Got issue with affinsecure which is required for transaction of 10k or more online. The min amount required for the 6m 2.88% promotion is 10k. Tried to do the fd online last night but failed due to the affinsecure thing (stupid requirement in this case as it’s from own saving to own fd). Found out that the promotion can be done otc as well. For those who wish to do it online, the three boxes at the bottom can only be ticked after clicking on the respective links for the documents.

For efd I’m sure the min is rm10k as it failed with rm9999 😆. I’m not sure about the max for efd as it disallowed me to continue without affinsecure. I placed more than rm100k otc today.

not that i'm afraid la, it's the 1st time i did online transaction that required it. i tried to install the app but failed to receive the 10-digit token during registration. i then saw in the online page that i need to key in either virtual/debit/credit card no for this affinsecure thing but i couldn't find my virtual card was told by the call center that i needed to get it done at a branch this morning. So sad and angry that i lost a day of interest due to this stupid requirement, it shouldn't be needed when transferring from own saving to own fd!
