In AmBank this morning. FD matured yesterday. Today AmBank offered to renew the FD's starting YESTERDAY for another 1 year at 4.2%. A bit surprised on that. Last week has kacao them on the Sunday maturity and the ABM said will get the additional interest for me. 

Was thinking of combining some of the FD certs but cannot as it becomes termination. So just get the certs renewed from Sunday 22nd for another one year. No top up's !!   

10k + stale fund = fresh

Hi everyone, please pardon my ignorance and rudeness here. I wish to place 5k to FD with an interest reinvest monthly basis. I am looking for a flexible plan where I can freely deposit more or withdrawing a portion on demand. lets say on 1 Dec I deposit 5k and then on 26 Dec I deposit another 2k I wish to get interest based on the untouched 5k on 1 Jan. Then on 5 Jan I wish to withdraw 1.5k and still get monthly interest based on the untouched 5k on 1 Feb. Is it possible to achieve that? or are there better ways to do such thing? If I only deposit monthly extra amount in the course of many years, will it become unclaimed deposit at the 7th years mark? and which bank has the above flexibility? with good service please? also do banks charge service fee based on above arrangement?

If I split too much will it be difficult to manage? Or is it just become many split arrangement within one account which is easy to manage?

Am bank extends the promo to 4/Dec.

4.4% for 60 months. Think it is the highest for long term FD. Am bank is hoping those placed two years ago will continue for another 5 years

This 12-month 4.3% got monthly interest or interest upon maturity?

Hi all, if u check back what was mentioned earlier in my posts and maybe others, the HL monthly interest is only for those above 50 yrs old.

I was in HL this morning. Did RENTAS out the matured FD, then minutes later received the fund in CB (received SMS from CB that fund received xxx). Then used CB cheque to place new FD. 

Also received new info that BR has 4.3% FD, but need to double confirm that. It will be just nice as have maturing FD in BR soon. They have been quiet for quite a long time already. 

There are always 2 camps. Some happy with the increase, some not happy.

Hopefully we will all go thru' the loan/FD interest increase/decrease as we go thru' life. 

AmBank now allow fresh and existing fund to 12 mth 4.3% ? Last week they told me fresh fund 4.25% only.

But they did not increase from 4.3% though OPR has increased by 0.25%. Anyway lets see which bank will break the 12 mth 4.3% barrier !

UOB Straight Forward Fixed Deposit Promos

Effective 26th January 2018,

    4 Months – 3.95%
    7 Months – 4.1%
    12 Month -4.3%

Have been moving FD to HL for 12 mth 4.3% for last few weeks. 

Last one on Thursday 25th.

So far no FD promo exceed 12 mth 4.3% yet. UOB reacted to the OPR increase and raised their promo from 4.2% to 4.3%, 0.1% increase. 

Yet to be seen if any bank will increase the promo beyond 4.3%. Still possible, lets wait and see. 

Am Bank told me yesterday, minimum FD amount RM 50K can get 4.3% for 1 year.
But I forgot to ask is this must be a new fund or not?

Why didn't you go for Hong Leong?  4.3% for 1 year

UOB 4.38% 12 months
OCBC 4.38% 12 months

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

The OCBC 12 mth 4.38% really heat up the FD promo. More posts in this forum as well. 

Hope that we will be seeing 4.4% and beyond soon ! 

For me I still go with AmBank on Monday due to OCBC difficult parking and distance, and 0.03% difference only. But I am waiting for banks to fight it out ! 

By the way, just saw EPF declare dividend of 6.9% for 2017. 

Hi, I called Ambank Kuching to get the 4.35% for my tomorrow's FD, but they said 4.3% is the highest.  I asked if they can request higher rate for approval from KL, but they directly say NO to me, without even trying.  Your RM memang very good in service. 

Maybe my fund is just too small for them.
