if you have mbb casa, can use the fund directly. just remember to choose Islamic Fixed Deposit (eIFD-i)

if fund directly from other banks, then FPX transfer is the method (source bank -> FPX -> maybank eFD/eIFD)

note: just tried FPX, it can do placement, but rate is just 2.55% @ 6 month. better do placement from m2u casa.

you cannot uplift on the same day as placement. only can uplift tomorrow from 6am until 10pm.

if you are creating NEW efd/eifd account, then need 1 day to create account and placement take effect. --- last i check la, only happen 1 time for each efd type.

if you have existing efd/eifd account, placement will take effect on the same day.

if you've really read the T&C, this is exclusively an eFD promo. fund transfer must be FPX mode (PBe < FPX < source bank)

doesnt matter "fresh fund" or not.

as long as fund is NOT from PBB CASA and you're using FPX to initiate the transfer, then eligible.

rm30k per txn for FPX B2C model. this limit is from paynet.

daily transfer limit could differ from bank to bank. check with the respective bank's internet portal.

choose non-maybank banks?

in m2u fd placement, you select CIMB bank (as source bank)

then m2u will redirect to CIMB clicks for you to login to approve transfer.

as usual, subjective matter.

for current FD rate (promo rate), you get to know upfront the rate you're getting, now.

for sspn, you deposit now, but pray the Y2020 dividend (to be announce in Feb 2021) is higher than the current fd rate (that is known to you now).

on the bright side for SSPN, at least you "earn" something in terms of tax relief, but for dividend, that's ~9 months away to know the results.


dont forget covid-19 impact to the economy and industries throughout year 2020, and possibly beyond.


if not mistaken, hlb efd-i is for islamic only.

if you try to make placement from your existing conventional efd, the tenure wont show.





however, as Kyan0411 mentioned above, if from Apply > Fixed Deposit > New Placement, then you get to choose to "open" new Islamic Fixed Deposit, then the 3 months tenure @ 2.60% p.a. would appear for selection.
