From Banks Perspective:

1. Less Paperwork & operation cost (more profit made)
2. Cross Selling of banks products
3. Can attract more pool of new placement into FD products (since it's digital base)

There's no such thing as paper FD safer than eFD....
Remember cases of FD being withdraw without customers knowledge???? Few millions $$$ involved yo...

Because only this they very slowly increase the rates... But if related to loans... It's increase asap.....

But if there's rates cut... Then they very fast adjust them....

Someone mentioned Bank Muamalat decided to keep their FD rates around 4%

Not surprised if indeed true...

Because others all reduced their rates....

Why pay more for FD rates....

We Need to find those "unknown" & less "popular" one.... They're giving the "acceptable" rates.... Example is bank muamalat....

Rates is quite low side...

One Thing of Islamic based products...

Once you sign up @ locked up.... No changes to the agreed rates unless they ask you to come & sign new agreement with new rates....

Both principles applied on FD & loans.... It's fixed....

The OPR tnc changes is when you do new placement.... Existing one No effects at all....

MBB FPX always got issues one.... Not surprising at all, till got note saying 3 days refunded.... Because they know many would face issues....

12m tenure FD all not attractive anymore...

6m one looks better.....

The 12m tenure FD really unattractive rates offered...

24m looks little okay, but it's locked longer.... You break it midway... No $$$.... Paid....
