QUOTE(PixelPerfect @ Dec 26 2022, 01:57 PM) Anyone knows if they (Public bank) allow top up of maturity FD to get the promo rate on the counter? Last time they used to allow top up 3-5k on the counter for the FD upon maturity to renew at the promo rate. Depends on who the manager is in charge. My wife always renew her term deposits at Mont Kiara and the Indian girl at the branch (we are priority members) always allow my wife to add 1k and treat it as fresh funds. My wife breaks all her term deposits into 50k lots. I don't know maybe we are regular customers at the branch so we may be treated differently.

QUOTE(contestchris @ Jan 19 2023, 03:06 PM) Serious? 18 of 19 investment banks expected hike. Only Nomura was saying maintain. BNM will monitor the exchange rate - if ringgit doesn't drop, why would they bother to increase the OPR? Ringgit has been fairly strong ever since Anwar came into power so BNM will try to keep OPR the same.

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Mar 2 2023, 07:04 PM) so the OPR would increase or not... seems like suddenly active with FD promo If i were a gambling man, i would bet the OPR would be raised in the next 3 months judging by the exchange rate (4.475 against the USD).

QUOTE(Chrono-Trigger @ Mar 4 2023, 06:53 PM) wei... my mortgage also increases I think most people on this thread is hoping that fd interest will continue increasing - only way that would happen is when OPR increases

QUOTE(BoomChaCha @ Mar 7 2023, 09:10 AM) Can somebody asks ChatGPT when our OPR will go up ...?? [attachmentid=11434529] Be patient lah. For this year, all around the world the interest rate sentiment is still on a upward trend - otherwise you will see Dow and Nasdaq shooting up. My retirement income mainly comes from world stock markets while i have only about 10% in fixed interest (fd included) - for me i prefer that rates drop but that doesn't look like it will happen anytime soon

QUOTE(cyclopcom @ Jun 4 2023, 08:26 AM) i just checked maybank efd and found that under conventional fd(non campaign) 15 months, the rate shown 5.3%!!! is this true? and i did not see any promotion rate as mentioned recently under islamic fd from the drop down box. I can see it too. Probably operator typed in wrongly - more likely to be 3.3%.

QUOTE(contestchris @ Sep 24 2023, 06:58 PM) Not only sentiment, but banks funding needs. If they're hungry for funding, they don't mind paying a bit more. Deposits are still the cheapest source of funding for banks. If they're holding excess liquidity, they will not bother. Banks are flushed with cash. My Maybank and Public Bank shares distributed the dividends so fast for this half-yearly dividend - usually have to wait at least a month but this time the dividends paid out in about 2 weeks.

QUOTE(fabu8238 @ Oct 6 2023, 04:26 PM) I have reduced my activities in MBB to just paying some bills and cash withdrawals as they have most no. of atms. Limit your exposure with them as they are worse than public services and frankly couldn't be bothered I have a lot of Maybank shares - dividend yield about 6.6%/yr and dividend consistency quite high. I agree with you though - if only i can bloody sack half of those non-performing staff.

QUOTE(joice11 @ Nov 17 2023, 08:49 AM) Get the Signature Priority VI more lounge benefits. ---> I prefer Infinite because no need to submit personal financial info to bank regarding the visa infinite u apply, its is confirm no need give epf, or income tax doc and u get approve for the card? cause i apply the signature priority after deposit the rm350k fd, yesterday received call say my card not approve, need epf or income tax. or else pledge with another fd Are you saying Infinite is easier to get than Signature Priority? I have never worked in Msia so i have no epf or income statement as i have only worked in Sydney. I tried applying Maybank credit card a few years ago but they say i need to pledge fd so i pledge rm22k for a Maybank Petronas Visa. I use my Maybank Petronas card for everything and over the last 2 and a half years used about rm400k. Recently Public Bank asked me if i wanted to have a PB Infinite card (don't have to fill form at all) and i told them PBB will probably reject me as i have never worked in Msia. After 1 day, i got an sms from PBB saying my card for Infinite has been approved with 40k limit. I didn't expect PBB to give me a credit card as i only have about 500k fd with them. I am now about to cancel my Maybank Petronas card and get my fd pledge back.
