do you know about BI? whether they have any such clauses? cause recently placed with BI
*
From BI website, TnC effective 19/1/23...

https://www.bankislam.com/wp-content/upload...TC-23122022.pdf

As suggested, can get further clarification with BI on the exact SOP. I remember some posts back, someone mentions need to bring death certificate to the branch etc.

I had done a small placement this morning for MBB eFD 4% 7mth via FPX using desktop.
1st time MBB eFD placement via FPX, wary of previous reports of possible problem - process not complete successfully but fund already debited from the other bank etc.

Placement process went smoothly. Intend to do more placements next few days when FD matured in other bank.
Probably do multiple smaller placement amount rather than 1 big placement just in case system encounter problem.

MBB eFD placement allow option of not auto-renewal on maturity, so that will save the hassle of having to redeem multiple FDs on maturity.

When can you view your e certificate? Mine was not shown up.
*
Ya, mine did not shown up immediately after placement. But after I log off and log back, there was a Fixed Deposit tab where I can view my eFD biggrin.gif

Hi,

Just curious, if put it under sole account, and family is not aware of it, what will happen to the money if the account holder has sudden death (accident or anything).
*
In accordance with the Unclaimed Moneys Act 1965 (revised 1989) the money in the Fixed Deposit under Automatic Renewal shall be classified as Unclaimed Moneys if the Fixed Deposit is not operated for a period of seven (7) years from date of deposit or date of last transaction, whichever is later. Account balance will be transfer to Government.

Next of kin can reclaim the monies from the Government. There is a thread on unclaimed monies on how to check and claim etc.

I suggest not to try anymore. I made a placement and it did not show up. I called up the maybank CS and they said there was no record. They will need to make a report now.
*
My placement completed without any error. But initially, I could not find where to view my eFD. After I re-login, I saw the 'Fixed Deposit' tab. I may be wrong but I don't think I see this on my tab prior to the placement.

Btw, did you received any error during the placement process?

probate/letter of administration will query the bank, provided your family listed your bank.

not sure if they can query ALL banks automatically, but last i dealt with Amanahraya, they asked me to input all potential banks related to the deceased.

if explicit listing must be done, they if family didnt include your FD bank, iinm, FD will continue auto-renew until a 7 years before bank file for Unclaimed Monies.
speaking of unclaimed monies, assuming my FD already went to unclaimed monies, can my family/spouse use eGUMIS to retrieve it easilyhmm.gif

if they can do it easily bypassing probate/loa, then they can wait after 7yrs after my death and claim it back from eGUMIS?
*
Still required probate/loa etc

See section on Application for Unclaimed Moneys by Heir/Administrator

No major error. Just after clicking on the complete transaction, the page loaded for a while and went blank.
*
For mine, after completion of the FPX transaction, I got a confirmation screen at MBB webpage with details. Got option to download acknowledge receipt of the placement.
Did some placements today, no problem so far.

Btw, I using a Windows Desktop. Use Mozilla Firefox as web browser to access the M2U (not the classic legacy) online banking page.

It says "up to" 4.0%. Don't know got anh hidden trick or not?

Smells like a step-up FD but one need to check the tnc to ascertain
*
I had checked MBB website for this promo and their TnC
Specifically mention 4% pa for 7month tenure campaign via FPX fresh fund.

Just to pray that the fpx goes through if want to place for this campaign. Already stated very clearly in para 2 that the funds will be returned in 3 working days. Guess, mbb doesn't  have full confidence in their system
*
For eFD placements, some banks put similar clauses to "protect" themselves should placements process did not complete successfully. Such failures should be rare. Not sure what the deal with MBB backend system that handle the eFD placement.

Not much option in town for eFD giving 4% pa biggrin.gif I just put smaller multiple placements. So far so good thumbup.gif

Would like to know will I lose interest if withdraw Affin efd on the mature day?(it’s set auto renewal) Or be safe to do on next day?
Cuz still haven’t change new date, don’t dare to touch.
*
On the date of maturity, you can withdraw you FD without any penalty.

Based on the clause, we need an eIFD-i account to join this campaign.

If this is true, how to create this account as normally efd account will auto created as long as we have online banking with saving account.

user posted image
*
If you have an existing eIFD-i account that is eligible for this campaign, click on the 3 dots (Option A) to do the placement.

If your existing eIFD-i is not eligible or you do not have an existing eIFD-i, just take Option B (APPLY FIXED DEPOSIT). This will create a eIFD-i account and do a placement together.

I hope I understand your question correctly and answer accordingly.

This Maybank Islamic 4%pa for 7 month tenure just started last Friday, 14 July 2023.
Campaign period runs until 8 August 2023 or upon reaching the Campaign target set by Maybank

Hmm… it’s puzzlingly frustrating. I tried but it kept saying that I needed a savings or checking account. I have a private account with Maybank Malaysia and that’s preventing me from setting up the online FD!
*
If you do not have a eligible casa account, can apply online for a Maybank2u Savers account.

I placed on 27 April for 3 months, the projected value is based on 91 days, at this moment the accrued interest only 90 days. Ya, indeed RHB FD is quite confusing.  confused.gif  confused.gif
*
Something is not right.
From my experience, if today is maturity date, the accrued interest should show zero.

I also did the MBB 7mth @ 4% Islamic FD today with fund FPX transferred from CIMB.
Weird tho the money ws deducted from CIMB but have yet to show in MBB FD even after an hour. Is this normal?
I noticed once i completed the transaction in CIMB Clicks successfully and when backed in M2U screen, it showed an error message saying something the transaction is not successful. What could have gone wrong?
*
If fund was debited from your CIMB account, you probably need to call MBB Customer service. From the CIMB clicks, get the details such as transaction id etc to provide the MBB CS.

Maybank don't even state their FD rates in their eFD until AFTER you have made placement.

Only a few months ago they add a small link to show the rates, after all these years. And I don't think all banks will show EIR...some really sneaky. I still feel it should be banned. It's another way to confuse to trick financially illeterate people. In a way, it's a legit Scam.
*
Currently, MBB does show the rates for their eFD during placement for both normal and promo eFD. This could be a recent change if it was not there previously.

just for record. i placed 22500 (75% of 30k) with mbsb. at 5.8500% profit rate in Jan 2024 for 12mth. deferred selling price is 23816.43.

22500 * 1.0585 = 23816.25. i dont know where the x.43 come from.
term deposit-i
*
FD Amt = 22,500
Rate = 5.85%

If placement was done on 19/1/2024

19/1/2024 to 31/12/2024 = 348 days
Profit = 22,500 * 5.85% * 348/366 = 1,251.53

1/1/2025 to 19/1/2025
Profit = 22,500 * 5.85% * 18/365 = 64.91

Total Profit = 1,316.43
Deferred selling price = 22,500 + 1,316.43 = 23,816.43

Assumption is placement was done on 19/1/2024 for 12 mth, maturing on 19/1/2025
Calculation done for days in 2024(leap year) use divisor 366.
Calculation done for days in 2025 use divisor 365.

Hope I get this correct.
