must online transfer or can do it over the counter ?

my mom OCBC fd was due last week, the person in charge told my mom today they are giving 6mth 2.55%
if Affin don't have to go through online transfer, then will choose Affin  biggrin.gif

Does the OCBC rate 6 mths for 2.55% is online or counter rate? What is the minimum amount for the placement?

yes,OCBC 2.70% but my mom forgot it's 10M or 12M
they offer my mom 3.90% Saving Insuarance (something like that) for 24M
*
Is it counter rate 3.90% for 24 mths? Saving insurance means not fd right?

3 months 3.15% ..promo for alliance online banking app user.
U need to dl the app. The TnC refers to 'selected customers' who will receive a promo code on the inbox when u log into alliance online. No definition of the bank selection criteria.

The code is for 1 x use only. Tried to place 2nd time...tak holeh
Try and see if you can open this TnC document

https://www.alliancebank.com.my/Alliance/me...MPAIGN-16042020
.
Place eFd via Alliance online (not the online app)
.there's a dropdown to enter promo code after select 3 month tenure. Then u can see the 3.15 % rate
*
Thank you for the information

What is the different betwwen PNA-i and the Islamic term deposit of Maybank?

Based on the link, it is Islamic term deposit also but provide cash upfront. Meaning the bank will credit the principal and interest to your account upon placement?

I believe this need to make placement over the counter.

Any hidden charges or rules on this account?

Would any of you consider money market fund instead of FD? Since MMF comprise of short and long term FD/cash from different banks?

I am existing Alliance online user....who not too long ago dl the Alliance mobile app. The Mobil app is mandatory to approve transfers above 10k. Some  functions of alliance online are also accessible  via the app .

The promo code was sent to my inbox of alliance online few days before I received an email re this promo.

I m not sure re the so called 'selected' customers criteria.  My guess is the qualifying criteria is ..
..an alliance online banking customer who also uses the Alliance Mobil App...

If you are not existing Alliance bank customer...just try open basic save acct..apply for online banking..dl and complete registration at Mobil app..and  see if u get the promo code.

placement of  eFd has to be made via online banking NOT the mobil app..Since u need fresh fund to qualify...transfer amount to CASA (7 days prior to placement)...no need to be limited by FpX  tranafer limit

Oh, thanks for sharing your experience.

Does the fund can be from existing CIMB saving account or need to do FPX transfer from other bank?

I have online fixed deposit mature tomorrow in Public bank.

May I know will the fixed deposit fund and the interest automatically credited to my saving account or I have to click on PBeFD (at the left side of the online FD page) and select Withdrawal to move the fund to my saving account?

interest - depending on what you set during placement. view back the slip from 'Print Placement/Renewal Slip'. you would see your instruction under 'Profit Payment Mode'

principal fund - manual withdraw. have not seen PBe have the option to auto-credit back to savings account.

Thank you.

Anyone place efd with RHB before?

I have efd mature on Monday with RHB and I would like to place back to their efd at promo rate.

I do not think that auto renew the matured efd will go to the new promo rate.

Since the amount is more than my daily transfer limit, will I enjoy the promo rate if I withdraw the efd at maturity date so the principal and interest will go to my saving then place the promo efd using the Transfer from RHB account (I saw they have this option under the FD menu)?

Msg from CIMB RM yesterday:-

TIA 1/8/20- 31/8/20

3 months - 2.45%
6 months - 2.55%
12 months - 2.60%

The 6 and 12 months are now next best offers after Bank Rakyat OTC.

For those interested in short tenure.

HL TIA-i already dropped from second best deal at p0m3 2.65 % last month to this month campaign 1 - 31 August 2020 at 2.55 % p0m3. Subscription by transferring fund from HL casa account using HL Connect. No PIDM.

As far as I understand - Term Islamic Investments Accounts are NOT guaranteed due to religious arguments. i.e if it is guaranteed than it is not Islamic investment! But this is not to say they can somehow not do some fantastic play with other words etc in future. There is no PIDM guarantee or insurance for Islamic investment under the same religious reasoning.
There are no fees involved for TIA-i. This is not some kind of non-term Investment Fund like ASN etc where fees are involved.
For all practical effect, it is just as "good" as conventional FD meaning the rate at placement is honoured for the number of days involved and no funny welshing.
Here, "Term" means having a set tenure at placement time of a definite number of months, not as meant in "Terms & Conditions."
*
Does the rate stated for the TIA is just a suggested rate and maybe lower or higher based on the underlying fund performance?
