OBCB 4.38%, with both option of interest credit on maturity or monthly (need Mi FD account)

UOB 4.3%, monthly interest,

HLB e-FD 4.28% 8 month, 4.38% 18 month, OTC 4.3%.

isn't 4.3% every month better as it is compounded monthly.

The CS said  their debit card has only 1 option, that is with AF.  even I said BNM has this rule, she said there is no such option with no AF.

I don't know she is cheating or she really don't know there is such option. 

anyway, I didn't bring the payslip as they required for savings ac opening, and it's CNY, so I didn't insist to argue anymore.

even if BSA comes with DC, there are 2 options:

1) Option 2 @ unlimited ATM withdrawal but with AF
2) Option 1 @ limited ATM withdrawal but no AF

Yes, HLB have Basic Savings Account without annual fees.

I thought hlb efd is 4.38%

But not all HLB branch will offer it.
Some branch will outright say no Basic Savings Account available.
You need to search for the branch that willing to open the account for you.

Shoot an email to customerservice@hlbb.hongleong.com.my and cc to BNM. You'll get a reply the next day from HQ with directives to relevant branch.  Go to the branch and show the email from HQ. In fact in the email, HQ states that they'll will appreciate if we notify HQ should we fail to get co-operation from the relevant branch.
