Pledge 500k, get 500k loan max..

Can be done for car loans. But can it be done for housing loans as well?

a few years back, the amoi in OCBC used a database to search for my name, and print out pages of A4 of results, and I need to sign on the findings that match my details.
A Chinaman bank already so canggih, I wonder what kind of zenith technologies are the IRB guys using.

Now many businesses have ccris and ctos systems to check on their suppliers, vendors and business dealers by themselves. Its easy as 1,2,3. Just need to pay only.

Went to Affin Bank today at Setia Walk to place FD. Can only get 4.25% if less than 100K placement. If 100K or more can get 4.3%. Must be for 2 years. The interest in not paid every 6 months. They say they the interest plus your principal is only paid to your savings ac on maturity in 2 years. So the interest you get for first year will not get any interest.
*
To sum it up, the extra 0.13% againsts Hong Leong Bank is not worth it especially you have to let them lock down your money for 2 years straight.

For those that placed the HL 4.3% step up FD over the counter, were you able to view the FD when you login to Hong Leong Connect? I am only seeing the e-FDs. For Maybank, I am able to see both e-FD and FD that is placed over the counter when I login to M2U.
*
Yes. Everything is viewable in your connect.

Just placed 50k at Affin @ 4.3 % for 24M. The bankers kept persuading me to open SA for easier transfer between their branches, fuf. Anyway, for those who are unaware, issuing cheque is only RM 0.53. So if you dont want to open so many SA, just go for cheque. No need bring so many money with you when transferring fund from 1 bank to the other.
*
Yes, apparently they can wave the banker cheque charges for all the FD holders (previously 4.5% for 12 Months) now but I am not sure for how long.

Thanks
Any different between conventional and Islamic ?
Which give the best?
Sorry first timer
*
Islamic FD is just like Islamic banking which is Syariah law compliant. In short, the interests are still the same. Just that the way interest is calculated and given is different.

I already have an account with HLB, prolly have RM1 inside, so I can just go into the branch and said that I'm interested in the eFD right?
*
If you already have HLBB Connect then proceed online. You can do online placement over at the counter. You have only two more days from now. Closing date is 20/07.

QUOTE(okuribito @ Jul 18 2017, 01:50 PM)
hmmmm that PB eFD rate of 3.4% really unattractive. They had another 12 mth 'superfd' promo the other day with monthly interest starting from 3.08% to 6.88% - average 4.01%. Lower thanother banks but better than this eFD  tongue.gif

Did anyone else go for the Ambank 4.1% 12 mth offer recently? I just got an SMS to register for their Transformer Spend or Deposit campaign ... just some gimmick I guess but who knows lucky or not? Or perhaps a scam? Anyway after registering , what else we need to do? The T&C kinda hard to read

TQ
*
As usual, Public bank will never really offer any 'interesting' interest rates. So I dont bother with them either.

Yes. You need to. As you would need a savings / money box account to enable you to have a connects online account to do this transaction.

Fresh fund must be deposited via FPX to be eligible for this promotional rate. Am I correct?

You have to keep track of your fds. Nowadays, their online promos are not bad too. Just that you will need to transfer out the money to other banks and transfer it back to qualify it as fresh funds.

One question, why all the sifus don't want to open CASA account with the bank when you do FD with the bank?
*
Some dont want the hassle of having too many accounts. Some dont want the extra fees that come along with it. Ie Bank Card fees, processing fees, account opening fees. etc.
