Can go for Stan Chart. They offer 4.5% for 12 months but had to be priority customer. Criteria to be priority is min 250k.

Rm50k need to be placed into CASA account. Rm200k can get 4.5% for 12 months.

Thanks, but not from my end. I wonder if it's location based, since I am outside of Malaysia.

Try to use chrome or Firefox. If your using IE and it's not updated it won't work.

Already did that, still not working.
Could be location-based issue, since I'm logging in from out of Malaysia.
Thanks. I usually use Chrome, but it has not been working for me for the past few days since I saw reports of website issue.
I found that Firefox could work, so i've been using it for the past few days. Now even firefox is not working for me.
Good to know, thanks a lot. Firefox is not working for me, even Safari.

Try using VPN. Possibility that CIMB clicks is blocking certain IPs due to security reasons.

I am planning to go CIMB tomorrow.
Btw what are the requirements to open Islamic FD?
Is it same as the conventional FD?
*
Same as per conventional FD. Only difference is how interest are given and calculated only.

Guys, I have a FD placed with HL bank for one year.

Lets say the date is 15/04/18 and maturity is on the 15/04/19. But HL bank added 2 more days making the maturity date on the 17/04/19 because according to customer service, the interest is because of the 2 days short from 28 February. This never happened before. Does this apply to all banks?

QUOTE(Deal Hunter @ Apr 16 2019, 01:20 AM)
I had mentioned before that for the Maturity Date someimes banks adjust the Maturity Date as different from the anniversary date when placing the FD. I gave this as one of the unusual cases regarding the interest expected for a year or the number of Interest Bearing Days for those people who imagine that the internet calculation solutions or common sense calculation will always work perfectly. When you experience a large number of FD and banks, you will eventually encounter such a situation due to a number of different excuses/reasons.

In your particular example, my guess is it may have something to do with 15 April 2018 being a Sunday. If you are not aware, money transfers between certain banks are not really the same during weekends despite whatever claims.  Money Transfer Day, Money Available Day, Placing FD Day  and Effective Day are some of the things happening in eFD and OTC FD.

Also  Single  fund source, multisource, topup and approvals besides clearances also play their part to complicate and delay Effective Date for new placement . Versus renewal/continuation or topup problems due to application delay or non-bank day.

The other common peculiarity troubling Malaysian banking and FD operations is the presence of a large number of non-bank days due to state holidays. It is some kind of holiday on Monday 15 April 2019 in Malacca. This really screws up cross state operations and common programs.

Thank you for your insights. thumbsup.gif I have questioned the bank CS for a few times and none of them can give me a definite answer. Oh well, I think I will rest my case and let it be. biggrin.gif
