QUOTE(chinkw1 @ Jul 6 2017, 07:01 PM) Tq bro for response. I cannot find any information on fd promotion in Maybank, HLB, Ambank website. Must walk in bank counter to ask right? Let say amount rm10k You can consider AmBank 12 mth 4.1% for min 10k. Not all banks advertise in their web site the latest FD promo.

QUOTE(cklimm @ Jul 6 2017, 08:12 PM) Ok kids, More details revealed bout HLB digital day 7 months efd 4.17% 7 months counter FD 4.3%, (simple tasks needed) https://www.hlb.com.my/en/personal-banking/...igital-day.htmlUncle giving us good news ! So HL did not go beyond the 4.3% which I mentioned yesterday. Looks like few banks looking at the 4.3% barrier. I was tempted to terminate AmBank 4.2% FD just placed 3 days ago to move to HL. But after calculating, find that not worth the effort. Moreover only for 7 mths gain. Anyway next week may place OTC for the 4.3% FD. This post has been edited by bbgoat: Jul 7 2017, 02:59 PM

QUOTE(sendohz @ Jul 7 2017, 03:46 PM) I see. I assumed you used RENTAS since you always uplift and place at various time and places. Wasai, stalkers found ! RENTAS at source of fund or FD terminate, then use personal cheque for new FD placement most of the times. Though sometimes could RENTAS directly to the other bank for new FD placement. QUOTE(sendohz @ Jul 7 2017, 05:28 PM) Not stalker but more of you are attracting too much attention! So i can go OTC and perform RENTAS?? i should try this Haha, I should shut up for a while ! Watchout that RENTAS charges typically RM5.30. Getting BC or doing OTC ibg may be cheaper depending on banks. I only use RENTAS when it is urgent, bank not issuing BC, using partial of the fund or combining funds from different sources.

QUOTE(gsc @ Jul 8 2017, 12:24 AM) Go to bank early morning, use IBG transfer the mature FD into your cheque issuing bank account. The money will be credited within the same day. For online banking, we can perform instant transfer, not sure do they have this feature in interbank transaction.... That is why I said "urgent" then used RENTAS. Also to be sure as it is Real-time Electronic Transfer of Funds and Securities System, RENTAS. Most of the time late out to bank instead of 9am. The interbank OTC transaction only has this RENTAS system which is supposed to be "real time" (with my limited knowledge). Which is actually NOT instant as compared to online IBFT. Sometimes minutes, at times hours !!! Getting BC from the matured FD is still more convenient way of transferring FD to another promo. No worry about when the dough will appear in the other bank CASA. This post has been edited by bbgoat: Jul 8 2017, 09:06 AM

QUOTE(sendohz @ Jul 8 2017, 09:19 AM) I see. Thanks for the advice HNWI I guess i will need the bank to issue me cheque book already There are UUHNWI here watching us ! Me just cakap banyak only. Another point of using RENTAS is to directly deposit to the other banks CASA account which u wanted to place FD. U don't want to wait until 3 or 4pm to place FD when the fund is received at that bank. Watchout that even RENTAS u have to do it before 12.30pm or so. Be prepared to wait from minutes to hrs for the other bank to receive the dough. At one time I have harrowing experience of 3 hrs even for RENTAS !!

QUOTE(joeduff @ Jul 8 2017, 01:11 PM) may i know bank rakyat has banker's cheque service or not? what is the price? because my bank rakyat FD mature on 13 July, and i am planning to move the fund to HLB, the last day of the 4.3% promotion.... As reported before, BR no more issuing BC. So either use OTC ibg or RENTAS. Another method I use is ask them to xfer to SA (for <50k amt) if u have it. Then online IBFT. Fast and cheaper that way. Depends on your situation. This post has been edited by bbgoat: Jul 8 2017, 02:32 PM

QUOTE(bbgoat @ Jul 4 2017, 02:29 PM) In Affin to uplift FD of 4.5%. The officer was trying to ask me to stayput the FD. Called the manager out. He said their best offer is 24 mth 4.3%. Similar to what I has reported before. But the offer was in selected branch only and this branch is not included. So the 4.3% is by approval only. Affin has dropped the FD offer. So now for 24 mth their top offer is 4.25% only. Please check with respective branch before going there to confirm the branch can offer 4.25% or even 4.3% for 2 yrs FD. QUOTE(gchowyh @ Jul 10 2017, 11:56 AM) Went to finally close my SCB account but unfortunately no new FD promos in sight. 1 year 3.95% but must be bundled with insurance or investment products. I hope 1 or 2 months later they don't come out with a promo else wasted my effort to close the account. 2 yrs ago, SCB set the stage for 4.5% 15 mth FD. Some of us have joined them. But after that no more significant FD promo from them. I cancelled their PB to avoid charges. Then now my JustOne acct suspended due to inactivity ! Luckily only have RM1 per acct there. Looking fwd to their new FD promo, if any !

QUOTE(gchowyh @ Jul 10 2017, 04:38 PM) Based on the details I read, it seems to be more for compiling non-resident's tax & financial information. Hope is not an excuse for them to further check if anyone is evading tax. Should have kept RM10 in my SCB account then just in case for future FD promos. Haha, now u regret closing the SCB accounts. I was thinking of letting it go instead of going to SCB to activate it. Waste of effort going there if not going to place FD anymore. Last time when I opened FD in OCBC in March 2015, OCBC RM (I went straight to their PB centre), Googled my name !! I asked and she said it is their procedure. She then printed out the result and attached to the application forms !!

BR no FD promo for quite a while. Wonder when they going to have any new FD promo matching 4.2/4.3% for 1 year. Received their invite for Raya Open House in the branch. May enquire if I go there. This post has been edited by bbgoat: Jul 10 2017, 10:39 PM

QUOTE(cklimm @ Jul 10 2017, 10:57 PM) a few years back, the amoi in OCBC used a database to search for my name, and print out pages of A4 of results, and I need to sign on the findings that match my details. A Chinaman bank already so canggih, I wonder what kind of zenith technologies are the IRB guys using. So looks like OCBC is really checking customers' name EVERYWHERE before allowing them to open FD, CASA accts there ! QUOTE(gsc @ Jul 11 2017, 12:24 AM) If she Googles bbgoat, she will get many pages on Lowyat FD... .Citi Gold prcvides special rate on birthday month. Did you ever take it up? I saw the results with similar names like mine but did not match exactly. Luckily I am just a small fry. Lets discuss Citigold in PB thread: https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=85579439

Tomorrow Affin 4.5% (last one) matured. Looks like HL 7 mth 4.3% is the one to go to. Going to move some of the dough to HL. Hopefully 7 mth later even better promo comes up. This is one of the advantage of the 7 mth FD.

QUOTE(kclamtarc @ Jul 11 2017, 06:10 PM) my personal preference is i dont really like short term like 3 months or 7 months offer. very troublesome need to move here move there. waiting for longer ones For small amt, that is true. Not worth the effort. As u said, it depends on personal preference. So u can go for Affin 2 yrs, 4.25% or 4.3% depending on FD amt.

QUOTE(annoymous1234 @ Jul 11 2017, 06:58 PM) Actually I also got this dilemma. Put for short term and put more money, or put longer term but less money. No right or wrong answer. Depends on individual. Hard to say if right or wrong. Like I liked the 4.3% then hopefully 7 mths later, OPR goes up or better promo comes up. Some people prefer short term, some long term. So all depends on u.

QUOTE(drbone @ Jul 11 2017, 07:48 PM) Any perks for priority banker? Also, this can be done online or need to go to counter? Did not hear any special deal for HL PB. The 7 mth 4.3% has to be OTC. Also suppose to deposit 1k in CASA.

QUOTE(annoymous1234 @ Jul 11 2017, 10:26 PM) So only just need to put 1k in saving account and then eligible for 4.3%, right' How long must I put in the SA, Can I withdraw after deposit the FD? Have asked HL staff initially said need to keep for 7 mths. Then asked officer, he said can close one eye so u can remove it anytime. Anyway tomorrow will confirm. Went to Affin Bank to withdraw matured 4.5% FD. Wasai, the officer seems super upset that I am not going for their FD promo ! Have withdrawed last week as well. Went to HL for the 7 mth 4.3%. Confirmed that can withdraw the 1k in SA anytime later. However as I used cheque for the FD/SA deposit, looks like can only take out the 1k after cheque clearance. So anyway can use cheque (I used personal cheque) and deduct 1k from there. FD start date today. Anyway surprised that HL gave monthly interest for this FD promo ! So far no one seems to have mentioned it or I missed it. So happy that monthly interest is part of the package. However limit for this FD promo is 200k. Last day tomorrow !!
