It seems like whenever HLB offer rates that are close to its competitors this is spoilt by its short duration. Example this offer is near to 1 week only. Why so shy? Are you not ashamed of being labelled the most kedukut bank? IMHO might as well not offer in the first place.

As a retiree I too hope the OPR will increase by at least 25 points next week but I'm preparing myself for a possible delay in the hike as the core inflation rate in our country in May 2022 was 2.8% versus 8.7% in the US

This article to prepare Malaysians for no rate hike this month I think. Govt position seems to be to resist as much as possible any unexpected rate hikes for fear of slowing down fragile economy

Just saw HL TIAi 12 mth 3.1%. Going to place some amount there. This one is good for smaller amount placement instead of 10k minimum for most FD promos.
*
What is the minimum amount for TIA?

Folks, how to change fd transfer limit to 100k max? Previously I could only place 30k max online fd
For hlb connect btw
*
Change the daily FPX limit at the bank the funds are transferred from. Some banks limit the transaction, HSBC for example allows FPX up to $200,000 per day but others limit to 30, 50k.

Ohk tq for the info..
Another question, will I able to fd more than once per account on 7.7 ?
I mean example 30k from affin for 1 fd, then 70k from diff bank for 2nd fd.
*
Should not be a problem having FPX FDs from different banks

Inflation this time is worsened by the war. Raising interest rates will not solve the supply shortage especially when demand is inelastic for oil and gas. The solution is for the US/NATO to reverse its sanctions and seek a peaceful solution. Unfortunately this will not happen as incompetence and pride is the hallmark of western govt.

I'm not going to go off thread and into the realm of politics but Ukraine has every right to defend itself and the West position is that if it doesn't help Ukraine fight Russia now it will end up very quickly having to fight Russia itself in Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania (to begin with) - at far greater human cost and global economic cost - including, of course, to Malaysia. No enforced peace deal will ever work as Russia will just be emboldened to try the same invasion tactic on its next target country.

As far as incompetence and greed of governments is concerned, let's just say that the West hardly has a monopoly on those qualities, does it!

Back on thread, the next BNM decision on OPR is due tomorrow and there may well be another rise. Let's just hope that decisions made at the next few BNM OPR meetings are effective in fighting inflation in Malaysia so we can all stop worrying about putting rice on the table. Hunger and poverty does not respect national boundaries and we should all remember that and be ready to help each other imho.

You may well get angry with me but honestly you need to get read more and get your facts right. For a start don't rely on western media sources

Will BNM stay with the trend of raising OPR for the rest of 2022? One big obstacle may be omicron BA.4 & 5 variants which is now causing increased hospitalisations in Portugal and UK. This may be bcos this variant seems to attck the lower part of the lungs. Raising interest rates in a covid pandemic?

sifu, what are the bank suggested to open FD acc?can apply online or must go visit branch.

let say i have rm60k wish to do FD for 6months.
i only have MBB saving acc.
*
Since u hv MBB savings ac u can open FD account online at MBB only. To open FD with other banks need to OTC

Most int rate promos are OTC. Online FD promos are by fewer banks and need to do by FPX etc more complication. So in a nutshell stick to MBB can do online but only get board rates. If want better go OTC and open all the necessary savings and FD accounts.

Some banks like HL, AMB credit principal early like in the morning of day of maturity. HSBC has a pariah practice of crediting the principal at night!
