QUOTE(HumanLobster @ Jun 27 2020, 09:47 AM) Apparently there’s a UOB promo for 12 months at 3.3% ending this month. Has anyone heard about this? Lady at the contact center mentioned it. Tried searching online but couldn’t find anything. uob 3.3% 12m, 10% CASA earmark 3m, only new customer. I placed one early this month. It's some kind of monthly promotion. It's in their "marketing book" (dunno term). Every month has different rate. Obviously last month's rate is higher. Dunno about next month. This post has been edited by Vickyle: Jun 27 2020, 09:21 PM

QUOTE(GrumpyNooby @ Jun 27 2020, 09:21 PM) So next month, you can get "special rate' from UOB FD? Since you're new customer or can be new customer again? Yeah, I asked the finance manager. It will change next month. New customer = no account in UOB

QUOTE(GrumpyNooby @ Jun 27 2020, 09:23 PM) Close the current account and open again the next day can be considered new customer right? I guess so. I clearly asked her if I close my account, the next time i open again, will it be new customer. She said yes. But I dunno if there is any "cooldown" (dunno term) between close old account and open new account.

QUOTE(GrumpyNooby @ Jun 27 2020, 09:21 PM) So next month, you can get "special rate' from UOB FD? Since you're new customer or can be new customer again? Now that i re-read again. What is "next month,...get special rate"? As long as the placement date falls within this month, it's all 3.3%. Next month placement probably lower than 3.3%? Something like that? Question: Under RHB, promo rate is 2.45%. It also mentions the annual effective rate is 2.13%. QUOTE Annual effective rate for six(6) months tenure is 2.13% p.a. assuming CMD-i is renewed with the same tenure at the prevailing board rate of 1.80% p.a. Should there be an Overnight Policy Rate (OPR) change, the effective rate may be revised. Do we need to concern with this annual effective rate? Or just focus on the promo rate?

QUOTE(bbgoat @ Sep 4 2020, 09:15 AM) How is it solved? Mine at RHB (OTC) matured the day before. Got the interest in saving account but the FD placement money is still stuck in FD account. I thought it was some kind of auto-renew. I told counter that I don't want auto-renew. The counter said the system is like that. I remembered HLB eFD has everything transferred to saving account, leaving FD account nothing inside. OTC and eFD different? Or is it the bank? Is it normal for the earmark placed with FD to be released late? I placed a earmark at UOB for 3 months starting from 5 June, I thought it releases on 5 Sept. Yet today 6 Sept, the earmark is still yet too be released. Is it UOB issue?

QUOTE(macystar @ Sep 13 2020, 05:29 PM) hello i see the RHB at their website OTC also 2.45% but i ask their fb admin say only for eFD. Anyone have any idea what is their 6month and 1 year rate for 10k+ placement for OTC? To much hassle to go to the branch.. So sad last year use to be 4% rate...now only 1.85% for HLB n PBB.... Placed mine for both OTC and eFD. Same rate for both methods. Only 6m.

QUOTE(oldman @ Mar 1 2021, 11:01 AM) No sure if anyone updated already - but RHB has promo on their e-FD for 6 months and 12 months. I think it's 2.35% for 6months for fresh funds, >10k. I can't remember the % for 12 months. 2.35% 6/12m

QUOTE(mcr342 @ Jun 3 2021, 06:35 PM) They only wants to see you’re a supportive customer that have savings with their bank. Its not earmarked so you can withdraw anytime. Don't understand. How is it supportive if I withdraw immediately after placement?

QUOTE(Johnslow @ Mar 2 2022, 09:32 PM) step up the website says 36 months 2.72% anyway 3 years 2.72% reckon good? 3 years could have significant changes. If the bank dares to place such "high" percentage, it could indicate the number would be better than that within 3 years?

Under eFD, why does RHB has "Accrued Profit" and "Profit Amount"? When comparing between "Accrued Profit" and "Profit Amount", the "accrued Profit" is the amount received is 1 day difference. Which one should I be getting when term matures?
