T&C says it may take up to 2 days for them to process the placement of eFD , of which no interest will be paid during the process.

Has anyone tried putting eFD with HL bank before? does it really take 2 days or immediately?

I just tried a moment ago, immediate eFD placement (even on weekend).

It’s the best 3 months rate in the market now.

HL eFD used to be 2.35% few a weeks ago for 3 months. Now it’s 2.30%.

Maybe they are anticipating interest rate cut again

I read that it depends on your risk appetite and your financial goal.
If you are young , you can take a bit more risks. Older people , being almost out of the competitive job market will definitely have to be more conservative.

Imagine losing 50% of your money when you are 50 is different from when you are 35.

looks like interest rate has bottomed out this year.

supposed it's good news for nett savers and not so good for nett borrowers.

But for people with savings and loans, the nett effect will be negligible , as any increase in FD rates will offset more money used to pay banks for loan.

Withdrawal needs to be done at HQ, and not immediate..

FD is very liquid, can uplift anytime instant cash available.

not a good option for people who live in smaller towns where HQ not available...

has anyone tried to put eFD in Maybank through FPX from other bank?

I got my eFD placement failed at Maybank but money has been deducted from the other bank.

Maybank said they will investigate and escalate, and usually FPX will refund back the amount to the bank where the money is deducted from.

anyone experienced this problem before?

any idea when the money will be reverted back to the originating bank?

Maybank told me to wait 24 hours...and said if not they will take 3-7 working days to investigate zzzz

happened to me yesterday.

FPX will revert the money back to Bank A, in about 24 hours.

no, i put it in origin bank instead.

Not worth the trouble.

yep. I was stuck during redirection after FPX payment, and the URL just hanged.

looks like a programing error or redirection error.

I remember in 2011, I put Ambank FD 5 years @ 4.5% pa. payment into CASA account every 6 months interest.
