Interest rate is reaching its peak at this current cycle.
If got money better quickly lock 12 or 18 months FD, as it may start to come down in 2024.
Good time over?

QUOTE(joeblow @ Jan 12 2023, 08:29 PM) I don't want too many bank accounts and still need approval. Is opening Bank Rakyat account troublesome? I might do it if it is not and can take cheque not needing it to clear to consider effective. which bank ??RCB needs maintaining, after 2 years I take out the money still need to close. Troublesome. Besides I don't need the priority queuing or cheque book or open that new account which I think need money. Key is I have too many bowls already... lol. ![]() |

looks like FD rates won't be rising anymore. Bank crisis in USA changes everything. Fed most likely is going to reduce interest rate sooner than later. Better to lock up 12 months and 18 months FD with >4% rate now. my opinion This post has been edited by Chrono-Trigger: Mar 14 2023, 10:33 AM nexona88 liked this post

seems like board rate for FD has come down...
does it mean banks are flushed with money? Time to increase RRR (reserve requirement ratio)? |

Some say OPR will maintain at 3.0% throughout 2025 to prevent inflation due to hot money flowing into stock market and bonds.
Good times for FD continues for another 1 year? |
