QUOTE(Cookie101 @ Feb 5 2024, 01:58 PM) Worth a month mortgage payment for that extra % May I know which AMBANK branch that can get you 3.9% ? My FD with them is due soonEven Ambank canβt get 4% with special approval. Max 3.9% only. They agreed to do my post dated cheque afterwards without me having to be there and will update once done. |

Just curious, would anyone put interest upon maturity (3.9%) or opt for monthly interest (3.85%) for a big FD amount?

QUOTE(guy3288 @ Feb 7 2024, 09:25 PM) got so muchΒ money why go for 3.85% or 3.9% FD only? BI - i dont wanna spend 2 hours being "interrogated" upon opening account. Plus they need the account holders to be present when placing more FDs in future. Ma9fanwhat is that extra 0.05% when you can get 6x more at BI .. Rize already can get 4%,Β 3.9% i wont even look RIZE - apps not reliable, so I 'pass' QUOTE(cclim2011 @ Feb 7 2024, 10:52 PM) Oops. I should have asked this question yesterday. Too late now. Am going to really miss seeing X amount monthly in my savings. Actually is there a formula to calculate the effective interest rate? So for future FDs, I will be smarter. π

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Feb 8 2024, 10:50 AM) What you mean by the 2 hours being "interrogated"??? Many reported that BI asked a ton of questions when opening FD account for the first time. We all previously placed 4.5%Β FD... Not much issues also.... Until the staff comment... First time see many Chinese in bank Islam... All thanks to their attractive FD offering π₯π°π€ QUOTE(ManutdGiggs @ Feb 8 2024, 10:56 AM) Boss u can choose either 1 to sign if JV of 2 in 1 acc. No issue at all. I am saying that if you want to place more FDs in future, A & B have to be physically present, whereas with other banks, A OR B can just bring in the fund and place. Someone here mentioned that too. Can anyone re-confirm? π€But BI needs a single name acc to access online banking if not mistaken. Correct siudai if siudai is wrong. π This post has been edited by sweetpea123: Feb 8 2024, 06:49 PM |

QUOTE(rocketm @ Mar 26 2024, 11:55 PM) Anyone successful request Public bank red carpet Elte customer to request OTC FD for monthly interest and higher FD amount? tak boleh higher FD rates, monthly interest can for normal FD 50plus (not for Elite birthday /special rate promo though)What are the requirements for each request? My mum tried but being rejected. QUOTE(IceLeo @ Mar 27 2024, 09:22 AM) I am more curious on why a Public bank Red Carpet Elite customer need to ask a question in this forum instead of asking RM? No harm. You will be surprised that RM doesnt know as much as the forummers here. I have personally went into a bank with a screenshot of the FD promo I got here, and they didnt even know about it until I asked them to check with HQ the RM that assign to you dont entertain you even you are premier customer? QUOTE(mavistan89 @ Mar 28 2024, 08:21 PM) No matter how much, most of the RM sxxk if u only put in for fd. They will not entertain u even if you're private banking customer. My case, it took days to reply yeah, i will only look for them when I need latest FD info or red packets during CNY....lolThis post has been edited by sweetpea123: Mar 30 2024, 02:08 AM |

QUOTE(donkeygg @ Jun 23 2024, 11:56 PM) Hello Sifus, not only I dont split different banks, I try to group them into 1 single FD receipt whenever I can. My biggest is 2m in a single receipt. I malas to keep tracki have a stupid question here, if you have rm1million in a saving account, would you split it into 4 different banks with 250k each bank? since the PIDM covered up to 250k max just in case Bank A goes to bankrupt? and for those high networth sifus who has more than 1million in FD/savings in 1 bank, would you afraid if this really happen? thanks.. i really need to know this just in case if i have 1 million in future so i know it is needed to split since each bank PIDM covered up to 250k only |

But there are some banks i won't be interested at all. BI cos very mafan, need all joint acc holders to be present during withdrawal. And BSN which I wont even be bothered, not that they offer good rates anywaytak takut bank bankrupt etc how about FD rate, only want easy convenient low rate 3% also dont bother? very keng you.
