Does UOB pay daily interest for matured FD up to the withdrawal date?
*
During placement of FD, you can instruct either auto renew or credited into the accounts.

Pay daily interest for matured FD up to the withdrawal date?

Up to the withdrawal date means on the mature date or after matured, only withdraw after x number of days?

6 months 4.2%
Valid till 29 Dec or reaching 2 billions fund size

12 months 4.25% till 20 Nov.

Probably auto renew because no CASA with the bank.

Meaning not withdrawing after matured, maybe only withdrawal after few months for the matured FD. How does it calculated for UOB? On daily basis up to the day of withdrawal or monthly basis?
*
Assume auto renew for 12 months to board rate,
withdraw less than three months after maturity, zero payment on interest rate
Withdraw after > three months, 50% on interest earned

This is a general practice by banks.

With GDP number exceed expectation at 6.2% for Q3, and a recent more BNM hawisk tone, there is a chance for FD rate to trend higher next year.

Last time when OPR was 3.25%, the highest FD promo was around 4.5%.
*
GDP is only one of the 4 major macroeconomics indicators. Inflation rate will be the pair indicator to look at. High GDP may bring high demand pull inflation and BNM may want to keep the OPR constant to avoild uncontrolled inflation rates.

The inflation rate last registered at 4.2% which is unheathy. See below website.

https://tradingeconomics.com/malaysia/inflation-cpi

US FED is very likely to increase the interest rate in Dec. Recent major asian currencies are appreciated against the US dollar. BNM theoretically should keep the OPR unchange but sometimes economists are puzzle by BNM move just like BNM did in over reacting to BREXIT.

UOX
12 months 4.1 p.a. if monthly interest add on principle.
12 months 4.2 p.a. if monthly interest credit to saving account.

1st page not saw above and thank you all of you always updated your info too.
*
If interest added on to principle, then it is compounded interest.

Am bank extends the promo to 4/Dec.

4.4% for 60 months. Think it is the highest for long term FD. Am bank is hoping those placed two years ago will continue for another 5 years

Called to OCBC PB centre.

FD promo for Dec:

12 mth 4.1%, 6 mth 3.9%

MiFD will get monthly interest, rate as above.

Looks like lose out if AmBank contd with its promo of 4.2/4.25% (need confirmation). Even UOB 4.2% is better than OCBC. So planning to move out OCBC FD due this week.  biggrin.gif
*
My fund in Ocbc getting lower and lower as the interest rate is not attractive. I also have an FD mature this month. Thinking out moving to Am bank. Ocbc is asking to top up to remain PC

Renewal /+fresh fund
6 months 4%
12 months 4.25%
60 months 4.4%
valid till 11/12

Fresh fund
3 months for 4.1%
6 months for 4.2% valid till 29/12 or 2 billion fund size

Hi I am from Kota baru..I just went over the counter to ask about the promo.. however they said only 3.15% per annum.. any idea why it is not available here? =(
*
May be the branch there only applies to Islamic FD which is not available. Just my guess.

Example the recent Am bank promo applies to conventional FD only...

This morning went to OCBC PB centre to withdraw FD. Parking is a nightmare, their PB centre limited parking, circle round and round ! vmad.gif @gsc probably has same problem as well !

Finally park in the open air area. The PB leng lui passed my FD cert to RM who spent 30 minutes talking to me to go for UT !  bangwall.gif  bangwall.gif

Anyway still get myself out with cashier's cheque from OCBC.  biggrin.gif

When to MBB after 3pm. The counter girl called my name despite I have not been there for >1 year.  blush.gif

Was told they met their quota this morning. Then 3pm re-open again ! This one gives monthly interest, forgot to ask if it applies to all. But I think it would be so, one forummer asked this question yesterday.

At the back of the cert, the step up rate was printed.

The leng lui told me they may open up Islamic FD for this to continue the FD promo. It is a bit strange that MBB reach the quota so soon after they started 2 days ago. Either their quota is low or too many people going for it.  biggrin.gif

I went to Batu Maung branch. The ground floor staff filled in all the forms on withdrawal and IBG. Took the form upstair and it was done in less than 5 minutes. Not many customers.

Ocbc FD withdrawal can be done at different branch but it is not immediate and straightforward. My FD was placed in town, withdrew at another branch needs Ocbc inter branch internal email notification and fund transfer.
It will take half an hour to wait if you want the receipt. I told them to send to me. Fund received on the same day.

Noticed you went to MBB twice to sapu the 4.3% interest.
