As of now CIMB most progressive bank in my books . but not good enough because they up the board rates only. Quick quick up the promo rates          Which bank do you think will be first to give 4.55% for 12 mths? LOL

No sure Cimb staff gave you wrong info or you got the right info wrong.
The RM15.90 is the debit card annual fee, applicable to both BSA without annual fee and BSA with RM8.48 annual fee.
There are two types of fees. Basic Savings account RM8.48 annual fee and Debit card RM15.90 annual fee.
You open BSA without fee but you still have to pay debit card RM15.90 annual fee.
Cimb doesn't provide free debit card to all casa eventhough you opted for BSA without fee.
The only way to get truly free BSA from Cimb is to open BSA without fee account and ask the staff to disable the debit card feature, the debit card can only be used as ATM card though.

Regarding to the Bank Islam FD promotion, it's already appeared in its website. For those who are interested can refer to it.

I took around 15 minutes to open Akaun Pelaburan Al-Awfar (not the Basic Saving Account) because it has lucky draw. Yes need to have saving account for profit to be credited in it.

I have fd with cimb matured on 11/5 and the date was automatically adjusted to the next business day which is today and interest was calculated until today as well.

I saw the new maturity date when I login to cimb clicks last friday

I went to the branch planning to uplift and place with UOB that time and then the rm told me she can offer me same rate 4.30%. This was early may btw

If you are in Singapore, why not just take a short ride to Indonesia? Their FD rates are much higher and still better even after 20% tax.
