Live chatted with them. Apparently, free upgrade will begin in Feb.

"regarding TQ surprise, you will receive notification starting 16th january to 31st january 2017 through sms or email. and the speed will be upgrade starting february."

email means...our own email that we used to register for unifi or unifi email ?

Can shows lan speedtest? biggrin.gif
*
LAN speed test is around 28-30mbps...
PC on wifi speed test is around 28-30mbps as well...

QUOTE(rjb123 @ Jan 17 2017, 05:27 PM)
These were disabled - used to be able to reset password for them in the OCC backend, but that option has disappeared now, there's only TM Wifi (don't think I've ever used that either..)

I don't think anyone used their Unifi e-mail accounts
*
I never used tm email accounts..haha

I have a noob question:
I have a tv box...if I wanna connect to unifi via LAN cable...should it be connected to the white modem box or the black C5 Archer router ?

To the router.

Assuming it's a normal TV / Android box, not the HyppTV box which needs to run over VLAN
*
QUOTE(westlife @ Jan 17 2017, 06:49 PM)
Hypptv is also connects to the wifi router itself also. Just the port it connects to must be on VLAN 600. No device is connected to the fibre ONT except the telephone for VoIP and the wifi router itself for Internet connection.

thanks for the info !

what is ur current plan? Advance 30 or VIP20? for this two it should no special options except to upgrade to 50Mbps gua...

the guy was asking for Advance Pro (100Mbps plan). but the free offer is bad for the existing users of this plan. only rm10 discount?  shocking.gif
never receive any email or sms yet. i registered for advance 30 only in dec 2016. maybe my upgrade won't be that fast.
*
same case here...

i guess only by april will only upgrade although if earlier i won't mind

for CSGO here my thought

1. different TM ip(210.xx, 115.xx ,110.xx) result in minor variable in ms(± 15 ms)
2. diferrent CSGO server result in bigger ping variance (at one time all of our team MY player ping above 100ms vs Korean team with below 50ms..we lose hard btw..haha)
3. Im using wireless 2.4ghz (N if not mistaken) my ping is around 40-60 ms
*
i see...thanks
i am also using 2.4ghz transmitted from my tp-link repeater

QUOTE(Sirmacai @ Jan 18 2017, 02:15 PM)
5 to 20 ping for csgo. Wifi idk.
*
i guess LAN is much better
thanks for the info

Aiyo, so many telcos already give free unlimited calls. Just register one with your mobile package and talk all you can. I never install my phone anyway, so it is a redundant feature for me.
8Mbps to 30Mbps is a good leap and now 50Mbps... You wanna stay with 8Mbps just because of free calls? sweat.gif
*
for me...after activating my 30mbps unifi...immediately i removed the hypptv and the new phone

saves my electricity from powering up 2 not-gonna-use devices

I asked the technician no need to install at all, just make sure my Internet is working.
That's enough.
*
well..the technician said they have to activate the hypptv or else will be penalized

haha...

try connect direct lan with your router from ur pc/laptop and do a speedtest. homeplug I think some of us already stated single phase and three phase will give different speed thru out homeplug...single phase will have better performance right?. if not mistaken laa
*
my pc is on 2nd floor while the router is on first floor...no LAN cable that long...haha

QUOTE(VeeJay @ Jan 19 2017, 10:22 PM)
either the homeplug is faulty or there are electrical noise in your electrical circuit.

I get 28Mbps on my Aztech homeplug
*
i am suspecting faulty wiring or the extension plug...

QUOTE(kebeckham7 @ Jan 19 2017, 10:34 PM)
aahh I see, my bad lah, my house also three phase but the homeplug didn't perform the speed that I want too. maybe internal wiring causing the problem. sad.gif
*
these are my concerns as wel...sigh

looks like i have to live with wifi connection

why don't you try homeplugs?

something like this = http://www.lazada.com.my/tp-link-tl-wpa423...it-9014648.html

cheers smile.gif

p/s - if your place's using 3 phase wiring, there may be a problem
*
i tried using my friend's Aztech homeplugs (before i purchase any homeplugs)...and it's giving me speedtest result lower than wifi

LAN cable cheap yo. Just buy long one or make your own. 1G over wired. Best.
*
LAN cable from first floor to 2nd floor...not pretty

QUOTE(VeeJay @ Jan 20 2017, 10:22 AM)
Did you plug the homeplug directly to the wall or at an extension? Do plug directly to the wall and test.

Both end should be directly at the wall and not on an extension
*
the main plug (connected to router) is plugged onto a wall socket while the secondary plug is plugged onto an extension because i only have a wall socket next to my pc... bangwall.gif

QUOTE(giko @ Jan 20 2017, 10:22 AM)
my tp-link, which i just bought, works wonders! am getting 26-28 mbps (adv 30 package)using them!

cheers smile.gif
*

anyone can clarify what this is about:
"Our records show that you have signed up for UniFi after 31 December 2016. Check back with this website from 1 March 2017 to discover your surprise. Thank you!"

this is sad - i signed up for 30mbps unifi in dec 2016, completed installation in jan 2017 when they extended the promo till 28th feb 2017

No need to be sad ma, anyway, what improvement can the additional 20mbps do to your household usage?
*
i went for this promo because of the 50mbps free upgrade
or else i would have remain at 4mbps

you get what i mean...?
