Tq prophet,... yeah, I do hear some cautions abt this too. But what I gathered from the opposite camp is this ctr is good, hence many of the retirees there buy and keep this ctr for the stable, FF dividend.

Yeah

i am trying to buy for my retirement as well. But they are not biting! biggrin.gif

This could mean that you have queued too low, or the Sellers have queued TOO HIGH ! You need a certain 'kungfu' to be able to buy these stocks. You have to have a Good-Till-Cancelled order in-place at a sufficiently-low price, but not too low,... Then suddenly, out of the blue, you find that your price has been clicked.

But I don't think CUP has the above probs, right ? Unless you are queueing at 70 Cts,... biggrin.gif

Bank in Sgd to your MCA SGD. From there convert to AUD. Then no charges.

Try avoid deposit / withdraw other currency. Else u got to pay charges.

Same goes for Stanchart. I bank in Sgd to my savings. Then convert to respective currency u needed (transfer to respective foreign currency settlement acc).

Yes,... I also have queues below $30 for NAB. But it takes so long fro these queues to get struck, in the meantime losing opportunity costs for other possibly value counters. This is the dilemma always,... We are queueing for something at a very good price, but if that supposedly good price does not happen, then we can't buy anymore, and in the meantime, some other good value ctrs couldn't be bought too because we are reserving funds for queueing elsewhere.

Hence, I always have to monitor closely online and 'go in and out' of the queues with my funds,... to capture the ctrs with the best possible prices. Dob't know if you understood what I meant to say here. How do you handle this prb ?

BOQ = Bank of Queensland. Let me know what you find out,...

custody fee will apply for foreign shares held in your DBSV Online trading account.
Custody Fee (charged quarterly) SGD 2 per counter per month, capped at SGD 150.00 per quarter.

Waiver based on combination of Singapore & foreign market transactions:
(a) 2 x transactions per month
(b) 6 x transactions per quarter

the dividend collection fees is as follows.

1% net div; Min AUD 5

So, if i buy CUP at .82 x 5000 units = AUD 4100.00

Dividend collected will be : .08 x 5000 = AUD 400 (estimated)

My cost will be :

Brokerage : AUD 30

SGD2 per quarter (maybe can be waived since i think i hv more than 6x transaction per qtr base on Singapore transactions)

4x div = AUD20 (for collection fees)

Is this calculation correct?

any other expenses?

How the tax thing work?

As I understand, foreigners are slapped with 30% withholding tax flat ... so u need to take 30% off from the dividend u received.
