QUOTE(Yluxion @ Dec 7 2016, 03:21 PM) Modem is not the issue. Can I call TM and ask them to change my router? You go and look around broadband forum section, you'll realize that stock router really dated with all sorts of limitation. Average 20Mbps is still under utilize of your Unifi30. A better router could give you a stable 30Mbps. 2 friends of mine keep complaining Unifi sucks, lag, unstable wifi, tipu etc.... Once I brought them to Digital Mall to buy a better router, there have not been a single dissatisfaction voice then. Don't think they will entertain me unless I can't access to the internet. QUOTE(Lada Putih @ Dec 7 2016, 01:26 PM) QUOTE(MR_alien @ Dec 7 2016, 01:55 PM) ok...streamyx is using copper, unifi is using fiber optic the fibre ping should way lower than copperin terms of web browing, the ping is just a few MS difference...so u might not feel it but for download moving from 4Mbps(400KBPS) to 30Mbps(3MBPS)....the number speaks for itself im not sure why malaysia fibre ping is almost the same as copper |

QUOTE(MBC270cdi @ Dec 7 2016, 02:14 PM) I just called TMNet "100", here is the answer I get: So no more discounted but paying full price??1) VIP 10, VIP 20 is not being offered anymore. Those purchasing VIP10 paid RM199.00 (if subscribe at non promotion period) will be upgraded to 30 Mbps later while the VIP20 subscriber will be upgraded to 50Mbps. 2) Current Mpbs 30 subscriber (like me, paying RM179.00, a promotional upgrade since Oct 2015) will be upgraded to 50 Mbps too later. I am happy with 30 Mbps, and wish to "downgrade" to VIP10 (hope to pay cheaper), sorry, no such option anymore, TMNut said! So, die die, have to pay RM179.00 with 50 Mbps later, which I don't need so fast, 30 is super good alredy. That's Msia, consumer kena squeezed left right centre. |

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « I'm using Asus RT-AC68U. Asus routers are quite solid, but price is slightly on the high side. If you're on a budget, TP-Link Archer C20 is a good option. (RM150~RM200) You'll need your Unifi password with you when u set up the router. It's written in your service invoice. If you've lost it, then you can call Unifi to check. This post has been edited by Yluxion: Dec 7 2016, 03:49 PM |

still dunno whether i'm eligible or not..
does this mean that I (unifi advance 50 subscriber since December 2015) will get free upgrade to 100mbps soon? I don't really mind if not eligible, 50mbps is more than enuff for the whole house to be honest |

Your house cabling and their existing supplied router may not support higher speeds, especially the orange colour one.
