If you're using stock router, with multiple devices connecting. You won't get the optimum speed.

For future subscribers of Unifi30 and above, I would suggest you invest on a better router to fully utilize the speed.

I got my modem replaced by TM cuz it was already dead but not router.

Been using 30mbps for almost a year without problem until now... average I can get above 20mbps.

Now it's really unstable...

Modem is not the issue.

You go and look around broadband forum section, you'll realize that stock router really dated with all sorts of limitation.

Average 20Mbps is still under utilize of your Unifi30. A better router could give you a stable 30Mbps.
2 friends of mine keep complaining Unifi sucks, lag, unstable wifi, tipu etc.... Once I brought them to Digital Mall to buy a better router, there have not been a single dissatisfaction voice then. biggrin.gif

Can I call TM and ask them to change my router?

Don't think they will entertain me unless I can't access to the internet.

It will still be the same even they changed you another one.

Router that TM provided is just not good enough.

Ah... I see. Thanks for the info.

May I know which model are your using right now?

Gotta set all my stuff again if I bought a new router right?

Sorry for the noob question. Really lazy wanna do setting... puke.gif

I'm using Asus RT-AC68U. Asus routers are quite solid, but price is slightly on the high side.

If you're on a budget, TP-Link Archer C20 is a good option. (RM150~RM200)

You'll need your Unifi password with you when u set up the router. It's written in your service invoice. If you've lost it, then you can call Unifi to check.
*
I've already change them. Do I still need the stock password?

Hah... PC stuff sometimes quite troublesome. Thanks in advance.

the password you've changed is just wifi password. Unifi password is given by Telekom, is unique and unchangeable from normal user. smile.gif

U mean the password for http://192.168.0.1?

Thanks for your patience. notworthy.gif

Nope. That one is router login password to do setting.

To check for your Unifi password, just call 100 to retrieve your Unifi username & password. Below there's a video to let you understand better.

In the video at minute 1:23, that's where you need your Unifi password to set up the connection.

Thanks man! Will watch the video when I'm free.

Yes. According to the official unifi thread at the network subforum, some people already started receiving this message since yesterday.

I guess anyone who is paying RM199 excluding tax for 30mbps is eligible for free upgrade.

This is the confuse part. I did get the SMS from TM but I am paying rm179 but I subscribe last year
*
Hmm... It's unfair for user who is paying RM199 if you get free upgrade as well. Hehe... but since you get the SMS from TM I think you are eligible. I only received e-mail instead of SMS.

RM199 was after the RM179 promo but with more hypyys channels. So nothing to be unfair.
*
I think that's before the pricing of RM179. Didn't know RM179 doesn't have Hyyptv thingy... I just want the internet access... Hyyptv decoder I've already taken out.

Cheers!

Is it possible for me to take out the Hyyptv thingy so I only pay RM179 instead of RM199?
