rest well and don't think so much about it... recuperate and then plan about things later.... if you like to ride so much.. no incidents can keep you off the bike... this you can trust me for it.... you will just have 2nd thoughts doing certain things...
*
Okay then. Just have to start from step 1 all over again. doh.gif

Butthead,

This is what i mean. The yellow circle part is the part where it was bengkok inwards as in the thin metal thing. That part will rub the wheel spoke when i changes to biggest gear/cassate.s

sorry... saw the message too late...
it could be possible that the cage itself is bent out of shape... i haven't seen yours before...

if you see that the cage itself is flat and straight...it could be also be possible that the dropouts are bent causing the entire RD to be bent and the cage itself together gives and impression that it is not flush with the frame...

the bike shops have a tool to test the drop out straightness against the rims... get them to check it... dropout should be quite cheap @ around RM50 to RM100 depending on brands...

How i i wished i had the chance to do some climbing before i comeback for break. Now just stone at home reading some bicycle magazine. My wound on my face is more or less healed. But not the one near my tigh, knee and wrist. Gotta visit the clinic to wash the wound tomoro Ouch....

Andre Gippel won the first stage of tour of oman, He did the first thing on the first day of tour down under too.

Butthead, who that guy with diability in track cycling?

Is it possible to get a Official pinarello t shirt with that thing above here in KL? I kinda like it cause it looked like its taken from japanese anime.

About rider protection after my big big crash. Dont the road rider wear somekind of protection as in some elbow/knee pad cause that were most of my injuries were. Not to mention somekind of farbrics that can withstand being dragged without tearing apart as what happend to me to be dragged few m after being fell at 40kmh with my leg still in my pedals and toppped up with top layer of my skin being torn off hmm.gif

you can wear long pants, gloves and long sleeve jerseys... but i doubt those will hold up at high speed...

you can see the pro tour riders attire gets ripped to shreds when they crash at high speeds...

you can wear the MTB protection gear as long as you don't mind being looked at with a weird eye when passing other cyclist... there are no rules that say you can't... it just looks like overkill...
*
Yup seen they jersey got ripped off and still can ride very well. I guess they had the whole team medical team behind them unlike us where we had to go clinic ourself to sort the injuries up.

I do plan to slap some knee/elbow protection the nenxt time i ride.

Butthead,

i guess crashing is part and parcel of the life as a pro cyclist. I got good lecture from my parent about not to ride the bike anymore. I was like "wat the heck" lor. Perhaps i need time to heal myself and start over from step 1. But i dunno where to start again? rclxub.gif Wanna practice my clipless pedal and repiar my bike first maybe get myself a 2nd bike for practice/sparebike rclxub.gif

Is it okay to post up my injury picture here? Not as bad as that day itself. Most is healing well except the tigh part which take some longer time. My face were healed already which i happy about it biggrin.gif

QUOTE(butthead @ Feb 16 2012, 11:28 PM)
parents are protective by nature.. you have to understand their concerns... start by riding flats first.. and dun go too fast... once you get comfortable with a bit of speed on the flats... then you try descents again....

you need to learn how to steer the bike and not steering it just with handlebar inputs... you need to learn to use your body weight and body to maneuver your bike... be agile practically... if you are stiff... your bike follows you and you find it very hard to turn...

i used to like descents a lot... can take shit loads of risk riding down technical ones like gohtong jaya - batang kali and leaning into turns without fear that the tyre will let go under our bikes... and we try to hit 3 figures on roads that are not straight down...

nowadays... jus too chicken shit to do it... maybe got older, maybe shrunken pair of nuts... dunno... comes with age i guess...

go ahead.. unless your picture is something really gross...

The problem is that my place is kinda hilly which is seriously good place to train as climber. That how my accident happen as to go flatland i first had to go tru some downhill slope first (that where it happens). Not sure now how to do it, i guess i will walk downhill first then ride on the flatland rclxub.gif

How ar? just hold down the rear brake while decending? I have to admit my body is kinda stiff. The LBS ppl told me to be relek while on bike.

Just browse tru the net for the knee/elbow guard. Pity those ppl who post those question on the bike forum and found themselv being flame by other user for being "wuss" or "scared to death". rclxub.gif

Its a pity that I got into shit accident before the whole thing even started. Oh well, even if it doesnt happen now it may happend in the future and i seriously feel lucky to get out unhurt.

Btw, if downhill riding down, which brake should i use? front or rear brake?

Added on February 17, 2012, 10:34 pm

btw did you find any shop selling those elbow or knee pad? I'm looking for them too hehe don't care what other people say  icon_idea.gif

ABout the elbow/knee pad. Not really sure in KL area cause i more focus on my serach on Aussie/NZ area cause that where I am based when i finish my cuti cuti malaysia. After my crash, i felt like wearing a knee/elbow pad and bomber shorts will save a layer of my skin to the road cause that where my injuries lies rclxub.gif

Perhaps try the MTB subforum for help? I never being there at all
