Like to share my opinion on this BR-V.....

I owned a Avanza 1.3 since it was first introduced in Malaysia back in 2007(I think.) until today. This car have serve me and my family well being a family mover. There is space whenever I need to carry people and stuff like luggage or DIY stuff etc. There were many negative comments on it then, eg; power, bounciness, platform of a van etc. I accepted it as it was since it was the best option then because of its price on the road, built to ferry 7 people and a second blower that can cool the interior on a hot day quickly.

Fast forward to today, with the introduction of BR-V, I think this car is built to carry 7 people and can provide the space whenever required, just like the Avanza but I'm confident that it handles much better than Avanza and would be less bouncy. I did not had a chance to take it for a spin and I'm pretty sure it will be a big improvement comparing to my ol' faithful Avanza.

In the second row seat, these seat can be slide forward and backwards to provide space for the third row and second row, so here is a value add. The rest is more or less comparable to my Avanza but in BR-V, there is dual airbag (my Avanza do not have even one), VSC and ABS, (again, none of these are available on my Avanza). So, if those who have owned a Avanza or is still having one, like me, I think they would probably agree with my opinion. However, this saying...."a man's meat maybe another's poison" and vice versa.

Anyway, I have confirm on this car, down payment and loan all done and await delivery in a week time.

I reckon it is the same design as the Avanza blower. There is a blower and cooling element on the second row air cond

I ordered the Tafetta White as well. Got the free tint, according to my SA, it is the Llumar house brand.
Let's see how it turns out.

I have drive till 120Km/h and the rpm maintain at 2.2k.

According to my friend feedback the ride is comfort with 120km/h
*
If the speed is @ 120km/h and the RPM is hovering around 2.2k, then I reckon it will give good mileage per litre.

Hiya guys. Just gotten my ride this morning. Did a short observation on the way to work.

Throttle response is good at lower rpm and pretty decent when getting to higher speed. Didn't push the car since it was raining the whole morning so I had to get used to the characteristic on the car and the tyres too.

I did notice exhaust fumes are pretty strong when following behind a bus or lorry. And I can smell the sewage pond to when I drove past it. Definitely need the AC filter if that's the sound solution. I will bring this up with the SA.
Congrats bro.

Collecting mine later in the evening.

Guys, here is my take on the outside air detected in the BR-V cabin with the A/C running.

Not sure if those who have had detected the outside air in the cabin owns a V spec model. If yes, then this could be the cause, the V spec model A/C is automatic, there is a sensor that monitor in-cabin moisture and oxygen level that will switch the recirculating and fresh air modes, hence the outside air detected.

user posted image

Here is the logic to this.....
Re-circulating air already inside your vehicle's cabin can help quickly cool down the car - far faster than fresh air pulled into the cabin. But this fast cool-down comes with a health risk if you run your car's AC system on the re-circulate mode for too long.

The nature of recirculated air means that its' already been breathed in and out by other occupants in the vehicle. Thus, it's sapped of oxygen and filled with moisture. That combination can make you groggy, which can hinder your concentration and safe driving ability. Plus, in just the right - or wrong, rather - conditions, it also can fog up your windows, decreasing visibility.

On the other hand, fresh air is just that - It's fresh, highly oxygenated air with no second-hand moisture.

So, the best bet for keeping your cool and staying healthy on your road trip is to drive on the re-circulate mode until your car's cabin hits a reasonably comfortable temperature, then switch to the fresh air mode.

These days in newer model car, you might feel you're missing something, though. And you are. Many more recent models have automatic systems with sensors that monitor in-cabin moisture and oxygen levels, switching between the recirculating and fresh air modes for you.

Perhaps can we get confirmation if the E Specs model have similar issue.

Here's my first impression after spending about 2 hrs in it.

In comparison to my current Avanza, sitting position is lower, equivalent to the a sedan car.
1) Engine is responsive and smooth, instrumentation (fuel gauge, temperature gauge, trip info and clock all within the right side)
2) No auto lock but there is a button on the driver's side where the power window and wing mirrors controls to lock and unlock all doors.
3) Gear indicator is located within the Rev meter on the left side. Gear position on the gear shifter is not luminated and it is not an issue as there is one on the meter cluster.
4) Projector headlight leveling is available in 3 steps next to the VSC switch on the right panel of the dashboard.
5) Headlight switch controls Auto ON when dark, ON and Off and Fog lights.
6) NVH is good but maybe too soon. Gotta see if it is still good on the highways @ 120km/h or more.

These are my first impression for now. Will update after the CNY holidays when I take it to Melaka and back.

Congrats to you  rclxms.gif

I have installed the auto lock by gear shifting, when gear in position "P" the doors will unlocked and "D"  the doors are locked. This device is connect through an OBD2 device just plug and play, no wiring required.
*
Thanks for the info on the auto lock. Taking the car to install the brake pedal lock later and if the auto lock is available, will add as well.

Has anyone tried the reverse camera during night time or in dark? How's the effect?

Not bad at all..@ night mostly depend on the surroundings. If poorly lit area, the pictures are rather grainy.

Daytime, no problem. Crystal clear.

Oh regarding to the on board LCD screen. I found out the screen not so easy to read and view until bright sun. You guys are the same issue? what's the solution? need to apply darking screen on it?
*
There's two things;

1) there is a protective film on the LCD surface that reduces the brightness.

2) check if you have the headlights or small light on, if it is ON, the lumination is reduced.

I checked on mine. 😊😉

The daylight running lights on the headlights cannot be turned off.

It comes on the moment to deactivate the alarm.
