QUOTE(aquilaTE @ Mar 28 2017, 11:13 AM) I won't try those 1 metres one lar... even pick up truck without the snorkle can only wade up to 800mm. For BR-V, it's 500mm the most meaning water level above the wheel is a no-no. Anyway, I work right in front of one flash flood prone area which is near to the Hakka restaurant. Guys, did you all include the special perils coverage for your car insurance apart from the windscreen coverage? This special perils coverage addition covers floods and landslide mishaps on your vehicle. |

Guys, I'm writing this post @ Honda Service Center and wish to related an incident happened this morning with my BR-V V specs.
Was about to head to the Honda Service Center near my home this morning for an early service appointment but the car could not start. Press the Engine Start button, engine won't fire up. All indicators/warning lights are on, radio and AC is working but the engine just refuse to start. Luckily I had a battery tester and to my horror the battery voltage is less than 10volts, no wonder the engine won't fire. Called Honda Assist n inform of the problem, Road Assistance came to my house within 1 hour, jump start the car and I drove the car to the SC for my service appointment and inform them about my battery problem. Here's the battery replacement SOP in Honda. They will need to charge the battery for 3 hrs and then evaluate the condition before giving you a warranty claim battery replacement. I told them I want a new replacement since the car is only 6months old and it falls within the battery replacement condition. So guys, do check your battery life condition to avoid my experience. I had to leave the car behind for further checking and complete my 10k service and collect it later in the evening. This post has been edited by reddevil04: Jul 29 2017, 11:44 AM |

QUOTE(reddevil04 @ Jul 29 2017, 11:40 AM) Guys, I'm writing this post @ Honda Service Center and wish to related an incident happened this morning with my BR-V V specs. Guys, just to update on my battery issue. Collected back the car @ 3pm on Saturday. The Service Center SA told me that they loan me a temporary battery so that I can continue to use the car and the problem battery is retained for further evaluation before warranty claim replacement. I had to leave the car behind for further checking and complete my 10k service and collect it later in the evening. Got a call from the SA yesterday informing that the battery is dead and can proceed with the warranty claim. So this morning went over to the Service Center and got a brand new battery which took only 30mins. Will monitor the voltage regularly from now on. |

QUOTE(Kanuki @ Sep 6 2017, 03:18 PM) My cousin just helped me to jump start the car and it can start now. Hi bro, I reckon the symptoms presented in your case is quite similar to my encounter some time back where my car just refuse to start on one morning and I called Honda Assist and they send over a mechanic that found that the car battery completely dead, got the car jump start and went to the Service Center and got them to take a look and did a thorough check on the battery and finally I got a replacement for it. But before he jumped start the car, he measured the battery voltage. It was just 0.18 volt. After started the car for 10 mins and turned off the engine, he measured the battery voltage. It's showing 12v normally. He also helped me to check whether I left any light on or didn't close any door properly or not but everything seem to be in order. He will help me to re-check the battery voltage before starting the car again tonight. I suggest you send your car to the Service Center and insist them to check the battery thoroughly and if the battery is not in a good condition, have them replace it for you under warranty claim. |

QUOTE(Kanuki @ Sep 7 2017, 01:35 PM) There is one more funny story. For my case, I contacted Hip and within 45mins a technician came over to check the battery and then confirm it is dead, a jump start was carried out. I took the car to the Service Centre and ask them to check thoroughly. They gave me a temporary battery while my battery was put to charge for 6hours and thereafter remove from charging and see if there is power retention or the power is completely drained. After 2days, the Service Center confirms the state of the battery, which is completely unable to retain a charge, a new replacement (similar size and brand) was given. I called HIP last night and report on my car issue. They said can come to change the battery for me but unfortunately they do not have stock at the moment. They asked me to call back again today after 9AM. I called them again around 9:15AM and asked them to come to change the battery for me. For some reason they said their technician is on the shop and couldn't answer the phone. They said they will ask the technician to call my cousin later Not long after I spoke to HIP today. The technician called my cousin and asked for the location. My cousin gave him the location. I asked my cousin whether they mention anything about the battery stock availability or not. My cousin was busy and didn't reply me. I called HIP again and talked another agent. This agent informed me that for the battery they can't replace for me. I have to go to service center to get it check. I told them that I called them last night and they said they can if they have stock. I asked them to check the stock immediately and they said they have stock. I asked them to bring along the battery and replace it. Shortly I spoke that agent. Somehow the technician contacted my cousin and went to my car with my cousin. He didn't bring along a new battery. He just tested the voltage and it's still showing 12v. The car can start normally this time. He said the battery is not spoiled and don't know what spoiled. He asked me to bring my car to the service center to get it check. So, I suggest you take your car to any Service Center and have them check the battery thoroughly. They have a standard SOP. Cars with electronic controlled fuel injection, when battery is removed without starting up the engine will reset the fuel injection and the engine timing will be affected causing the engine to judder and the rpm will be up and down. This will take awhile before it gets back to normal. This explains the reason behind the statement that after removing the battery terminals for few days and reattach it may cause the engine to stall after startup. |

QUOTE(aquilaTE @ Oct 12 2017, 12:23 PM) Everything looks good from here. Just a minor technical thingy. Any of you had squeaking sound from the front brake.? I don't get it all the time, just once in awhile. Planning to get the SC to check it. |

QUOTE(chipun @ Oct 14 2017, 03:34 PM) I got this one issue where keyless not working as intended. This can be a security issue if not rectified. If interference can caused this, then you should get it sorted out coz these days there are gadgets that can scan the frequency. Do you have a third party brake lock installed? The button at outside won't lock the door and armed the alarm when the fob is out with me in the pocket. Then the control panel driver side (the one have power window) lock/unlock button not responsive. But after like an hour or so it work as normal again. Technician said sometimes got interference from something like mobile phone or like that. It's quite hard to replicate the issue during my visit to SC.. Anyone experience something similar? |

QUOTE(aquilaTE @ Jan 2 2018, 12:27 PM) Yes, renewed my road tax last week. Expires this month end. So fast already one year old. So far I'm quite satisfied and happy with it although there are some minor issues like battery dead after 6months, air cond not cold, apparently air cond gas was very low (according to the SC) and lately the brakes are having noise (low screeching sound during soft braking). Schedule for 20k service next week, gotta get the brakes checked to rectify the screeching. Hope yours do no have problem like mine apart from the dashboard issue. QUOTE(wayne @ Feb 27 2018, 02:24 PM) Does anyone have experience with the original tyres? Did my tyre rotation, balancing and wheel alignment when mileage hit 10k. I did this at my regular tyre shop, Consistent Distinction. So far my tyres wear is quite even. I noticed my right side front tyre is having outer wear, and is more then the left side.i went to a tyre shop to do alignment but not really convinced with it. Anyone did alignment/balancing? Or tyre rotation back to front? Mine just did 15k service as well. |
