Me if not happy, I'll quickly sell the unit. Just like what happened to hot-selling models like RN3P.
But this P2 is giving me experiences beyond my expectations. So, it's a keeper...
Feeling is mutual bro. P2 fits my need 110%. Price is decent or else i would have asked for stereo speakers, dac, etc. For the price, im more than satisfied. People who check my phone dont even think of it as budget phone compared to my rdn3pro because of cheap build quality.

In comparison to Mi5s and Note 5, P2 camera smear too much even at bright scene. Totally unusable for serious mobile photography. Mi5s almost same price as P2 but sport a SD821 which 2.5 times faster than SD625 and run cool too because using 14nm process node. P2 is totally not acceptable for photo taking.
The youtube video above is bias because he own P2 and he has no chance to buy Mi5s like us.

I would get Mi5S but lack of audio features and dated IPS panel, I am not putting my investment to it. There is nothing special about Mi5s; other than price over performance ratio... I don't need that... Why Xiaomi keep on doing the same thing all over again...? I don't get it... This could be one of the reason they have lost their market share in China... No innovation and uniqueness... it's the same cycle all over again... boring....Mi MIX is pricey.... I want to buy it, but the poor screen protection is a boner killer... once dropped on the floor, cry...If they put "Shatterproof" screen into MIX, I would spend my money right away...
And MIUI "frequent" OTAs is not helping... instead of getting fixed, more issues comeout from time-to-time, especially battery drain after certain OTAs... Then, need to downgrade to previous firmware...what a waste of time... Xiaomi needs to re-think to tone down MIUI so that after OTAs, no major issues emerge... Looking at the "HIDDEN" background services, I would say big "NO-NO" to MIUI...Have to root to remove these "hidden" services... and now, to unlocked bootloader also troublesome... they purposely do that so that: 1) We bricked the phone and get a new set; if one does not properly unlock bootloader... 2) We can't remove their "hidden" services....
Luckily I know how to unlock bootloader and remove those pesky hidden services....but for others? They need a phone that is out-of-the-box workable and reliable, even after many-many OTAs....Having said that, I'm eagerly waiting for Xiaomi's next flagship(s) and evaluate the innovation and uniqueness they offer....
Would rather have something unique in its class.... ZTE Axon 7 Mini would have captured my interest but the SoC and longevity is a real boner killer....
P2 has the right recipe with screen, audio, longevity and sleekness; plus the "Theatermax" feature is something that no other vendors can offer.....This is the innovation and uniqueness that I want to see...Hence, I'm willing to pay... (but seriously P2 is really affordable looking at Ringgit history...). P2 camera is adequate for fancy usage... For serious photography and "videography", Note5 is always in stand-by mode...
P2 is suitable for secondary phone... an "Always be there phone".... primary should be other flagships...And whenever my Note5 is dying due to insufficient energy, P2 is the life-saver with its reverse charging feature... can Mi5s do that to safe my Note5....? Oh yeah... powerbanks is there...but then, we already carry three items in the inventory....Powerbank vs. micro USB adapter for reverse charging... which is lighter? Plus, the stock microUSB adapter can be used for HDD, OTG etc... Just bring one small apparatus, can do all other stuffs... Can powerbank keep my 4K videos taken by Note5? P2 surely can by using the micro-USB adapter to transfer 4K Videos from my limited space Note5. Plus, the Ultimate Power Saver slider in P2 is "hidden gem" in-case of emergency needs...
Finally, money can buy SoC, but can't buy experience....Got money, can buy iPhone X/Decade later... got the best SoC in there... but experience? Money can't buy...P2 has the experience that is beyond my expectations which money can't buy....The experience I'm mentioning now is innovation and uniqueness... not price over performance ratio.... MI5s won my "Best Price-Over-Performance" award... but I don't need it....

Isn't mi5s around 1700ish? Mi5 without the 's' is around 1100ish.

Just to let you know I appreciate your long write up.
Advise him to sell it on lyn, sure can profit one (y)
He happily using it. He appreciates the camera and the speed. One is for his brother. Both are happy user. Bought from Lazada Terabyte. Came in sealed box.

Nowadays no one buy stuff in LYN already lo.
people will buy when they know it is cheaper than gemfive and lazada.
I have the feeling of P2 is the last of its kind... P-Series be absorbed into Moto G- or Moto M-series...LeMoto might cut resources by stocking lots of similar SoC and camera modules and adopting to both Moto G- & M-series...Moto Z-series remain their flagship...
Bukan p2 is 2016, p3 or etc is 2017 based on the pic

Mi5? Sadly quite a no of my fren have overheat issue when using their phone camera or something.. Some return the phone, while some migrated to one plus 3 or 3t..

No, mi5s. It's better because it change to metal case. So heat sink better. Also the body a tiny bit bigger to accommodate bigger camera. Thus, camera also better.
