zergg,

HC normally collects a complete story arc. So it is worth it to get. Or for cheaper alternative, get the Runaway Digest albeit it is smaller book.

Alas, HC is the best - think of it as DVD Supremo.

Astonishing X-Men.

Hmmm. you can get it in TPBKs or HC.

IT is 24 issues run by Joss Whendon and John Cassidy.

Depends on your affinity with Joss Whendon, some rates it the best since Chris Claremont's early run though some hate it due to the lateness.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astonishing_X-Men

For me.. it is a good run of story. Nice dialogue and balanced artworks.

I collect mostly in comics form.

Astonishing X-Men Vol 1 (Gifted) TPBK for RM50-00.

Source : http://www.amazon.com/Astonishing-X-Men-Vo...99964297&sr=1-3

Is it my imagination or is there only like 3 people conversing in the Forum Thread?

zergg, don't worry. aside from talks on what to buy, we can talk about comics and what is your collection.

Since I got the original comics, I don't collect the other TPBKs.

As in my collection, come to think about it.. maybe I got Vol 1 (Gifted) and Vol 2 (Dangerous). Both for RM100-00 interested??? I will absorb the shipping and springs in the 2 Tangent Universe comics.

The longer you are in Lowyat.Net, the more surprises it springs out.

Hehe.. to think that there is few alternative buyers in Malaysia. And I thought there is only urm. Marvel/DC/Image buyers.

Heard about Umbrella Academy but not really into buying it since my budgeting is constraints on my on-going list.

Kinokuniya FAQ
------------------

1. Option to purchase via website or at store.
2. Payable by Credit Card via online purchase.
3. Shipping surcharge is RM6-00 per order.
4. Kinokuniya is offering free shipping for orders exceed RM300-00.

I don't know whether it covers East Malaysia.

Now the thread is more alive. Yeah ! There is more people and less zombies.

For those interested in this year's Secret Invasion (Marvel), do consider the New Avengers : The Iluminati. It is the encore of the invasion.

There are in existence of Astonishing X-Men Vol. 1 HC collecting Ast. X-Men Vol 1 & Vol 2 Tpbks. I supposed there should be Vol 2 HC to collect Issues 13-24.

As for Omnibus Ast. X-Men, I am not sure.

Ahhh.. I have no experience on the Overseas Order apart from Amazon.com and that is only recently too.

The one that I buy most of my TPBKs is from Kinokuniya.

As for single issue comics is from local comic shop in Penang.

Not much help in that department, madstone.

Thinking of ordering this month end.

Bwahahahaha... rclxm9.gif madstone, zio... walk with us in forum.lowyat, there is more to learn about collecting comics, tpbks and HCs.

Trust me, there is more to collect out there.

So many good artists and writers out there to really look into eg Ultra : Seven Days by Luna Brothers, The Darkstalkers, etc. Surely there are people out there giving few thoughts to Indies or not so advertised books a chance.

Oh yeah, but then again is it for the better or anything less??? Since you collect alone, you might missed out on gems. Trust me, that is why collecting at comic shops is fun where you can socialised with the other collectors and the storekeeper. BTW storekeeper read all things for free so he/she got a better picture on the comics. whistling.gif

Ultra is good and also Girls. Well, I dont mind collecting normal issues until my usual haunt couldn't guarantee me what I want even though I visited them every week. It got disappointing to see issues I wanted sold to others.
*
Yes, I like Ultra by Luna Brothers. As for Girls, I dunno kinda mixed feelings. Anybody wanna buy my TPBKs, gonna sell it at RM35-00 each ( TP 1 & 2 ).

http://www.amazon.com/Ultra-Seven-Days-Jon...00793056&sr=1-1

FYI : Spider-Woman Origin also by Luna Brothers artwork. Supposed to be mini-series that gonna launch her solo series until Civil War & Secret Invasion crashed her solo launch.

QUOTE(madstone @ Jan 20 2008, 07:37 AM)
You're not collecting Ultimate X-Men?

Should collect them too thumbup.gif
*
Well I collect Ultimate X-Men because of Psylocke appearance. Haha...

Basically my core collections is X-Related, Chris Claremont, New Avengers, Mighty Avengers, and occasional HCs or TPs that I fancy or with great review.

Welcome thanezra, please stick around for a great discussion and spread your knowledge. Maybe we could post urm.. clarification or information for those who keen to know some issues or plot-lines.. Haha.

Thanx Madstone! & Eric
I don't collect ultimate, cause i guess i don't have the budget LOL!
I wanted to collect X-Factor too but as above..no budget.

Eric...I love Psylocke too!..i only started collecting x-men as I heard she was resurrected...and move on to Exiles, as she's in that tittle now.
*
I collect Ultimates because of Joe Madureira doing Ultimates 3. Just got my Ultimates HC and Ultimates 2 HC together with Capt America Omnibus from Amazon this month.

As for X-Factor, it is noted to be good but will stretched my budget if I decided to pursue the title. Well it is by Peter David after all..

Psylocke? Hmmm. I reckoned you must be the Jim Lee's period of collector circa Uncanny X-Men # 256 - 258?? Nice artwork and you did mentioned 90's. Too bad after Chris Claremont left, Psylocke is left into abyss until now. But still hard to really make her relevant since she is now in Exiles. I wonder what can Mike Carey do with her.. What Ifs..
