Superman: By Tomorrow
written by Brian Azzarello sweat.gif

He is one of the good artist out there. I bet his All Star Batman & Robin is selling due to his and Frank Miller's name.

And the nice Black Canary plus Catwoman drawings. LOL.

Jim Lee's groundbreaking artwork in X-Men. Best issue to buy Uncanny X-Men # 256-258 (transformation of Psylocke), # 268 (Wolverine, Capt America, Black Widow and Psylocke all in a book), # 273-277 (all X-Men in one uniform look), X-Men # 1 - 11 ( X-Men new Adventures and the departure of Chris Claremont).

My Ultimate X-Men run begins with Psylocke re-introduced in Ultimate X-Men and she is Bishop's future wife???

X-Men : 2nd Series, you can get the 1st 7 issues on TPBK under X-Men : Mutant Genesis. Story comprised of :-

# 1 - 3 : vs Magneto, X-Men Blue vs X-Men Gold, vs Acolyte
# 4 - 7 : vs The Hand, Omega Red & Psylocke

All artwords by Jim Lee & Inker Scott Williams. Good for collection sake.

The only problem with Psylocke is the person who writes about the transformation resigned from X-Men. So the actual account of the why is lost in translation until you get Crimson Dawn, Revanche, etc. Though Chris Claremont come back, I think the damage is too much to really make sense of Psylocke's transformation.

The debate over Psylocke to get back into British body and Asian body kinda fizzles out. Since Psylocke in her oriental form more recognisable, Psylocke remains that even in Ultimate.

I know a thing or two about X-Men. Been collecting for a while now.

@ zergg, the Astonishing X-Men HC in amazon.com

Where were you when Captain America died? Perhaps you were listening to the radio or reading the morning paper. Maybe you were surfing the web or on the phone with a friend. Something very real, very abiding. thanaezra, you must be collecting the direct edition comics. same here with me.

I know how you feel man, if i'm that rich I'll definately buy all the X-Titles
BTW just FYI there are rumours that Uncanny X-men will be canceled around issue#500 , after the messiah complex Event

So can i suggest, if u want...try new X-men (which will actually end this month..but will continue in Young X-men)...the new X-kids are pretty cool..reminded me a lot of the New Mutant days
*
You can start with Uncanny X-Men Omnibus. Collecting Giant Sized X-men # 1, # 94 - 131. I think you might be able to get it at comicmart @ RM340-00. Priceless ! I dunno about Omnibus Vol. 2, I will get it if it is out in the future.

For cheaper version, get Essential X-Men now is up to Vol. 8 for those keen on Uncanny X-Men earlier exploits. But beware, Essential is Black & White.

I think thanezra, it should be X-Men replaced by X-Men Legacy.

Complaints of Countdown is that the series is slow-paced since they compare against the 52-series.

The story just picked up half-way thru the series. Thinking of disposing it to purchase something else.

Well, it is just the part of my collections. tongue.gif tongue.gif I got Image Titles, Crusade, Dark Horse, etc.

Be proud of your collections, if you don't want it - either sell it slightly below costs or just give it to friends.

Mine too... I think that was the last era when those special covers. hologram, and those shining2 cover made an impact. Really lost touch on the latest comic covers. Do they still sport a special/alternate covers once in awhile? hmm.gif
*
must be the explosion of Image Comics era ! Jim Lee, Todd MacFarlane, Rob Liefeld, Whilce Portacio, Jim Valentino, Marc Silvestri and Erik Larssen. Multiple covers plus special cover for special occasion to boost sales.

Of course it is not confined to Image but all other companies once they found out they can sell more of the same issue with multiple covers.

Alas, it is what we called superficial thing that best kept secret and forgotten.
