 my 3 month gaji can apply credit card or not

min annual income have to be 24k. if your payslip stated at least 2k of gross, can easily apply one. lower than 2k i don't think so, since Bank Negara raise the min income requirement few years ago.

Our fren don't have 2K gross per month lah. What he can do is discuss with his boss and if ok ask the accounts department to issue false salary slip. Then shud be no problem lah.

use kwsp statement if u serious to apply. can print at kwsp kiosk.
apply cc at bank where your salary is tt-in from your company.

Apply credit card and start building a good credit rating. I still remember November 2007. I applied with CIMB credit card.. rm5k limit... Fast forward today, the limit they gave me is 130k. Strive to earn more, make use of 0 percent interest and make sure you SETTLE FULL PAYMENT EVERY MONTH..I was once like u. Take home only rm1.8k. hard life. Use credit card for rolling expenses. Get salary, settle full payment for previous month's expenses. I still remember even when I'm poor, I'm happier back then. Young and dangerous (more like broke) lol...

Emergency only an excuse...

Don do that ... only apply credit card when you are steady and stable

Wah....from 5K to 130K in 9 years. I also going to apply CIMB card on Monday. My first card was from Citibank (1996) and the credit limit was 5K. Stopped using Citibank a long time ago. Nowadays I have the Maybank 2 Cards Premier. Never owed them a cent as I settle it every month but they still won't raise my limit. Thought of changing to PBB next...or CIMB.

If you were genuinely in such a situation, perhaps credit cards are a bad idea for you.

Lol yes I started with direct access (CIMB) gold card reserved for new graduates. That rm5k limit really helped me with my daily expenses especially for petrol and dining. I remember I worked late 12 am everyday just to escape paying the parking (push the barrier up lol just to save rm10 parking). Now holding the CIMB visa infinite.. I prefer cash back and no annual fees. Plus there's insurance coverage when I book air tickets.

I use (not like) MBB cos I fly abouts quite oftenly and they do have join-ups with airlines in which I save a bundle on the airfares. I have the 2 Card Premier with a combined limit of X00K but that was because I had quite a few FDs with them. They didn't voluntarily increase my credit and I had to ask them before they did. PBB wants my biz so they are offering me the same limit but I find it quite a hassle trying to juggle 2 cc accounts and that is why I stuck with MBB. My CCRIS is like 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 and I settle all my bills every month but yet MBB is like shit. As if I owe them money and it is my privilege to bank with them and not the other way around. Another reason why I (so reluctantly) bank with them is because of their interest are way higher than the rest of the banks. Haiz.... Can't live without them, can't kill them either.

Hehe but if I were you, it's better have a backup cc with international bank just in case. I.e HSBC/Citibank.. my CIMB give high limit even tho I have less than 1k in savings with them tongue.gif trying not to keep so much RM nowadays as I need to hold some hard currency just in case Malaysia emergency.. No idea bout MBB, but so far I'm quite happy with the level of service provided by HSBC and CIMB.

they will look at your gross salary including allowance.more than rm2k then youre eligible but max credit will be rm4k la iinm

tbh i for your pay currently applying cc is suicide...u gonna add more burden to ur personal financial issue....i saw a few cases before with young ppl on their first job...
my advice upgrade urself,find a better job and try ways to increase ur income...

Aiyah...don't be so pessimistic lah. The economical situation in Bolehland is not rosy but it is way better than a lot of other countries.

As for banks, I might try CIMB but frankly speaking I hate their work attitude. Go into a CIMB bank and there are more employees standing around yakking away than working and regardless of how many clients are waiting, they will just open one or two (and if you are real lucky) counters. Another reason why I chose MBB cos of their private banking. Never considered HSBC cos very "lansi" attitude and because the bank is tagged as a "laundry" internationally. Can't deposit a cent over 30K without them asking for everything (including whether your left armpit has got more curly hair than your right armpit). PBB is good but way too conservative and that's the reason why their interest rates are so damn low.

It is not about abusing it but about building a credit history with the bank and also to get the goodies.
1) If you are thinking of buying a car or a house, a good credit history will get the loan approved faster and with a higher loan amount.
2) Some CC have 5% cash back and that equates a 5% discount. Even if you can afford it buying cash, why not use the CC and get a 5% discount?
3) Free insurance on air travel. More savings.
4) Treat points in which you can redeem cool stuff.
5) Banks CC offers on purchases. Could be movie tickets, could be anything. Sometimes up to 50% off.
6) Emergency money.

I am not condoning usage of CC but it is a lesson for the holder to learn how to control his/her expenses. Initially very syok with all that credit but do remember that the bills have to be settled within a month's time. Once the holder learns that he has to pay interest on the unsettled amount, the "free" spending on un-needed stuff will automatically stop. That is what the limit is for.

1) I got my house loan without credit card. My first cc was when I got the house loan.
2) There are maximum amount of the 5%. For example RM30-50 monthly.
3) Same as 2. Diff marketing style though. Different type of card too. Not that you will fly frequently at that wage.
4) Usually lots of points involved hence, either you need to keep spending or wait a long time.
5) Okay only this I gotta agree. But apply to certain banks and type of card I think? I don't think it should be the sole reason to have a card though.

Ya. Entirely agree but better to have cc in case of emergency rather than none. Like go to private hospital becos government hospital queue too long. Got cc got doctor (those bastards). No cc or cash. No doctor.
