Oh man, what a fool, send the email to tmnet 2 time then need me call them to ask resault, why dont u direct call me n tell me what happen better then call me check phone line check OS check modem.

PAGE LOAD IS DAMN SLOW since Sunday.

60.48 seems to be the optimal IP range lately

this morning 9 am i try to connect
walla i get a ping 230ms to yahoo website
i play online game smoothly
but have to go for class
so it seems to be some IP range is not affected
some other IP gave me 500 - 600ms to yahoo
n guess wat today no timeout at all
i think is recovering slowly but not much at least no timeout is enough for me if not the page will take very long to load and wont load at all

I think those TM staff must've done something in the wee hours, he thought all users had gone to bed, so they 'steal' our connection.

facing same problem since sunday.. connection unstable and so damn lag.. malacca here.. IP 218.x.x.x and 60.x.x.x also the same..

It was going great for days, then it started getting crap this afternoon. Only a handful of destinations in the USA are reachable without huge packet loss. Transfers down to a standstill. I can barely check my email, can't do any work. I hate these TMnet fückers.

Better, but still pathetic, especially the upload.

The fact that every day it requires a different IP range to get decent service is also very frustrating. I guess I need to write a script to keep disconnecting and reconnecting and performing speed and ping tests with each of the IP ranges so I can get whichever one is optimum for that particular day.

How can TMnet people be so bad at their jobs? It really defies reason. And don't they have any pride or shame?

Reading your blog entry, it occurs to me that what we really need is some real record-keeping to prove exactly what is happening.

I think it needs a few parts:

1) An online database with web site for viewing the statistics.

2) Small client programs that periodically do speed and ping tests, and upload results to the online database.

3) Volunteers to run the client program on their machines.

Then we can get real data that proves just how lousy Streamyx service is. At the moment, they just wave their hands and suggest that a small bunch of whiners is making all the noise, and then they change the subject and talk about how 10% of the people are using 90% of the bandwidth, to create the impression that the over-users are the same bunch as the whiners.

In point of fact, I am a fairly low user compared to almost anyone here. On my last bill I had downloaded 2 gigabytes in the month. But I suffer a lot from the crap service that they provide, and so I must assume that there are thousands more like me.

Until we can show it with cold hard numbers, they will ignore us. When we can go to the newspaper and show that "the typical Streamyx user gets less than 30% of their paid-for service more than 80% of the time" (or whatever the numbers turn out to say), it will hopefully get some attention.
