Hi guys,

Anyone here managed to get the civic seat clip issuesettled under warranty? Kindly mention which SC did that.

I got this problem for both my driver and passanger seat. They only fix the driver seat with a cable tight because the clip isn't broken and for passanger site they say not covered in warranty because clip is broken. This is not acceptable as wear and tear issue for a few month old car.

And even for the driver seat why even when the clip isn't broken, it is secured using a cable tight? Shouldn't it fixed same as original.
*
JB right? Had mine claimed under warranty at Yong Ming. A friend also claimed at Sutera and Wang Loo

I'm in Pontian. First they say not under warranty. But after I gave 2 car number which I got from the whatsup group, now they say in the system the other 2 cars never claim warranty but just re-fitting their seat in the SC. Yours one is it claim under warranty and stated in the invoice/bill?

Got this thingy here. Didn't say clip though, but it was definitely the clips.

thanks, will ask them to refer to this. So yours is definitely not using the cable tight to fix it right?
*
Actually... Not too sure coz didn't see underneath the seat. My seat problem was on the sides of the front passenger seat.

they still have DK-Schweizer as option to wrap leather - at least in Penang lah smile.gif was told by the SA it's 2.5k for top leather wrap for seats, arm rest and door (i was given the option to do so as i asked SA earlier on, but eventually decided not to). i might want to just go ask DK-Schweizer how much would they charge if i just want to wrap the arm rest and door part.

by the way just took delivery of Crystal Black Pearl 1.8 on new year's day  rclxms.gif  rclxms.gif  rclxms.gif

have been lurking around this thread since the day i booked my car. hehe

This is probably off the topic a tad - I was wondering if you turn off the car without engaging the parking brake, does it come on automatically? The thing is, when I engage it then I turn the car off, the indicator goes off with the car. In other words, there's no way of telling after I've switched off the car. Anyone knows for sure?
*
No it doesn't engage the parking brake automatically. Unless you put on brake hold, and brake hold is engaged, you unbuckle your safety belt - voila! Parking brake engaged and brake hold disabled.

If you wanna check, no need to turn on the car, just turn it to accessory mode (press start button 2x) and the parking brake light will light up for you to see. Press start buttton 1 more time (without pressing brake) to turn everything off.

Ive been meaning to ask abt this brake hold.

Can we always enable it? Now when im at traffic light i enable the brake hold, when turns green i step on brake & disable the brake hold. Kinda annoyed to do that everytime
*
Just leave it on - only actively engaged when speedometer is 0. It would not damage your car - it's designed that way. But do turn it off when you want to park - you'll be annoyed with it as your speed will be 0 multiple times.

Hi guys. New owner of 1.8S Modern Steel Metallic  rclxms.gif

Question on indicator lights. Noticed the indicator lights on the fenders above the wheels are always lit in orange at ignition ON.

Is this normal or is there an operating mode that triggers this? Hoping to learn from u guys  smile.gif
*
They're not indicators. They're called side markers. It's a requirement for vehicles in the US, and since our Civic was designed in the US, we have them smile.gif https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automotive_li..._and_reflectors

Glad to hear this, as what the SA told me is to switch off brake hold once out of traffic jam area to avoid things damaged etc. He told me this when i asked him to demo the brake hold for me.
*
Ya... I know a lot of SA give out "ajaran sesat" since they don't own the Civic, but only sell it. No worries on leaving it on, but do note that if the brake hold is turned on, and actively engaged (0 speed), it will automatically cancel and apply parking brake if:
1. Brake Hold engaged for 10 continuous minutes
2. Driver seat belt unfastened
3. Engine is turned off
4. Problem with the brake hold system
5. Battery disconnected

I have the same sound, seems like is a common to a lot of owners.

Anyway, i just encounter "Engine Oil Low Pressure". Do i need to send to SC immediately?
*
Check your oil level - is it too low? Yes you should send to sA

Sifu, i just received a call from SC. He said that my car need to change VSA and must leave the car overnight. Can i know what is VSA a ? anyone know a ?
*
VSA / ABS Modulator - you must have been experiencing a persistent clicking noise underneath your steering column right? Quite a few people raised it with their SA. Will add it to the first page.

while i understand the safety point, Honda should made an option for us to bypass this message after we've seen this message a few hundred times. additional tap = additional time fiddling on the HU screen sad.gif
*
Nah. Since the platform is a global model, I doubt the lawyers in America would accept that "bypass", and the lawsuits will start with "Honda made me forgot safety by having the bypass". I turn it off automatically nowadays. A minute extra step, just like pushing the "Start" button to turn on the engine tongue.gif

If 2016 car, the best so far is RM7.2K, so RM6.5K considered as OK laaa... Mine RM0 discount...

Question 1:
anyone installed window visor from Shorty?
How is it different from the normal one, since the price difference is quite significant
Question 2:
For anyone who has installed the bypass cable, can i know when you connect you phone through the HDMI, can u change anything from the HU ?
Or the HU is merely a mirror of your phone? (i.e all menu selection shall be done in phone)

tq
*
1 - Need someone else to answer
2 - Bypass cable is for HDMI only. Inputs to HU screen won't translate to phone. Just a mirror as what you mentioned.

Guys, what is maximum load for our civic?
*
Manual Page 580. The answer will definitely shock you tongue.gif you'll have to do some math too... Maximum permissible - curb weight. Now, before you into a tirade against the Honda Civic, I would like to inform you that this number is actually standard across all similar vehicles types in the industry - it's to limit the liability of vehicle manufacturers, tyre manufacturers etc.

Hint: if you regularly drive with 5 people on board, you may already be over the permissible limit anyway, unless you're all petite ladies wub.gif

Thanks bro.

So, for TCP;
-- Maximum Permissible Weight - Curb Weight
-- 1,670 kg - 1,316 kg = 354 kg.

Means 4-5 people on board depends on size..hahaha

By the way, just checked tyre pressure of my friend's Civic. It's 280 kPa from factory. He reduced to 220 kPa since he will not speed more than 160km/h within a month.
*
Yup, you're right - if my size, then 3 people already over limit tongue.gif LOL! Don't forget, the number is also including your accessories, luggage etc.

The factory tyre pressure of the Honda Civic is high by default - I think it's because they don't know how long the car will sit in storage. One of the first thing to do after collecting the car is to recheck the tyre pressure when possible. 220kpa is ok already. I drove at 207km/h with those tyre pressure without any issues at all.

QUOTE(liongsm @ Jan 13 2017, 05:44 AM)
My car is 5+ months now. It started with the 1 2 click sound when started engine. Did not bother cause thought system inirializing. However, early this month in one of the daily drive, this loud clicking sound became non stop until I restarted the engine.

Went to SC, they claimed not sure what is the issue despite playing back the recorded sound and pointed where the sound came from. SC reconnected the sockets and requested me to retry. About a week later, issue recurred. This time still loud click but interval like every 15 secs.
*
QUOTE(liongsm @ Jan 13 2017, 05:49 AM)
Hi. In your case, may I know whether your SC confirm that the VSA/ABS issue? Did you also encountered the loud and continuous clicking sound? Thanks.
*
The 1 2 clicks after first driving is normal - and also after hard braking or spirited steering. If it's a continuous clicking or loud clicking, that is not normal and warrants a replacement of the ABS / VSA modulator
