which part of penang \? i am currently staying at bayan lepas and since 218.208.xx is letting me down.. i have tried to reset the ip but since then i couldnt get back 218 ip again....i have been getting 219.95 constantly...Have you gotten 219.95.xxx (3digits) what is the latency for this ip?..

sorry that this has become a whine post but i couldnt help it. sitting in front of the computer resetting ip is just not my favourite past time after a whole day of working. If this is not resolved i think i will have to quit the game for good after 2 years of playing ( was playing EU version then)  cry.gif  cry.gif

GG TM Net for screwing my WoW experience .....

Im at the Farlim, Ayer Itam area and connect to 218.111, 60.53 , 60.49 with about 400ms in game, when i connect to the 60.50, 60.48 , 218.208 , and the 124 ip, its bad. But i've connected to the 218.111 address for about 29 days now and its still running smooth, just waiting for a stupid tenaga power outage to wipe my router and connection.

Weird thing today, 218.111.*.* is slower than usual and 219.94.*.* is faster than usual, even had some fun pvp-ign in halaa for once today. Anybody else experiencing the same ? WoW EU btw...

Yup, 218.111.xxx.xxx is laggy since 4pm on Illidan. Switched to 219.94.xxx.xxx and it has no lag.

If you want to get something done about the lag, perform tracerts and send them to streamyx. Whenever you get pings in excess of 4k, and where you get constant disconnects and lag spikes, it's pointing to lost packets. Lost packets = bad for wow.

Details on how to do the relevant tracerts can be found in the technical forums of the wow website.

A lot of the dropped packets, for me at least, are happening before it leaves routers owned by streamyx.. typically 219.94.xx.xx.

Call streamyx 1300889515 and moan to them. Get a case number after you've told them you've gone through all the usual troubleshooting BS.

Send them emails at streamyx@tm.net.my with the case number in the heading.

If i'm the only one complaining to TMnet, then they won't feel the need/pressure to do anything about it. But if more of you guys make some noise then maybe they'll actually find out what's going on and fix it.

I started this thread awhile back because of the complaints about the lag and there seem to be a lot of people complaining but no overview of what was really going on throughout Malaysia. The thread was to put whatever feedback that people had about the IPs and see if other areas had the same problems

Yeah, I know that tracert but can you imagine how annoying it is having to repeat it over and over to people to do it? Come to think about it, one day I had enough, especially when people talk about lag and yet have nothing else to say except the word "lag". No IPs, no tracerts, nothing and they refuse to make their case with streamyx.

Maybe I didn't achieve this at all with the information posted up. Then again, as mentioned in the 1st post, this thread is to post up IP information and it was to try it out (to see if people find it useful). What to do with this info, well, hopefully it gives a glimpse of hope for ppl who could try redialing or it could act as a reference for them when they experience lag.

One thing that I hope this thread did was at the very least reduce the amount of postings about their lag situation.

which 218 connection? some folks were reporting 218.208 as both good and bad, and that 218.111 was in the same situation.

IMO we shouldn't have to avoid slow IP addresses. There's absolutely no reason why we should accept a shoddy service from TMnet and there should be no reason why I/we should have to keep reconnecting just for a few extra ms. We pay good money for a service which is unreliable. As customers, it is within our right to complain to tmnet to ensure that the services provided by them are running properly.

It is basically your (and that is everyone who has to suffer dropped packets and high latency) duty, if the services are not up to scratch, to make a complaint to tmnet.

This is basically a call to arms. If more of us actually make some noise then maybe we'll become loud enough for tmnet to hear.

ps. When you call them tell them to shove that stupid bandwidth test up their arses as it has absolutely no impact on latency. As a gamer I would rather have a stable low latency connection then the bandwidth.

After 3 days of very very bad connection, 5-7 March, last night was the first night of true WoW bliss. 219.94, connected at 300-400ms the whole night. Went from lvl54 to 15 bars into lvl55 at a single sitting.

WoW on a good connection is orgasmic!
