I've shifted the post out of LYN to a free wiki page so that players can help with the editing. All they need to do is create an account with pbworks.com and just edit on the wiki with the new information. The link to the wiki is below : http://wowstreamyxconnections.pbworks.com This thread will remain as discussions for problems ppl are facing with in-game latency when on Streamyx lines. eternallove, which area in penang are you at? might be helpful to know since certain areas may lag worst than others.

60.48.x.x 90% of the time fairly good latency, 300-450ms. [edit] After 12midnight on saturday, 60.48.x.x starts to lag, by 1am I'm getting 1000-1500ms. Reconnect to 60.51.x.x also no difference. This post has been edited by deodorant: Feb 11 2007, 01:11 AM |

Bangsar/Bukit Banadaraya - 60.50/49.......has been horrible late night this past week. After midnight, it tends to hover at or above 1000ms.

I'm a wow europe player so i don't expect to get the same ping as you US players. But ping after midnight has been horrible last 2 nights.
I normally ping my ventrilo server to check how fast my wow will run as both servers are located in the same place and I find that 218.111.17-18(lower numbers are usually better for me).xx usually gives the lowest latency. PJ, SS3 btw. I've been travelling a lot through the ASEAN region this past few weeks and i normally get pings to my vent server of about 220-270ms (that's in Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam). So i really don't see why TM can't get their act together and give us solid latency. Tracert shows the problem is not with my exchange but further down the route. Ie.. the bottleneck is just before the packet leaves the TMnet exchange to the foreign router. Tracing route to xx.xx.xx.xx over a maximum of 30 hops 1 112 ms 249 ms 62 ms 219.93.218.177 2 15 ms 15 ms 15 ms 219.93.216.149 3 15 ms 13 ms 15 ms 210.187.133.83 4 15 ms 14 ms 20 ms 58.27.124.50 5 15 ms 14 ms 15 ms 219.93.174.67 6 420 ms 421 ms 421 ms 219.94.9.46 7 499 ms 497 ms 499 ms ge0-1.linx.lon.rapidswitch.com [195.66.224.207] 8 499 ms 483 ms 499 ms ge-2-24.pup.mer.lon.rapidswitch [87.117.214.6] 9 484 ms 497 ms 499 ms xx.xx.xx.xx Trace complete. |

deo, where is Bandar Sungai Long?
(my ignorance is shining here. ) Added on February 11, 2007, 2:38 pm QUOTE(Kidicarus @ Feb 11 2007, 05:53 AM) I've been travelling a lot through the ASEAN region this past few weeks and i normally get pings to my vent server of about 220-270ms (that's in Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam). So i really don't see why TM can't get their act together and give us solid latency. Thailand + Vietnam = not a lot of ppl on broadband I would think so lines are not full-up. Plus, probably got a better deal out of the international telcos than TMNet. This post has been edited by myremi: Feb 11 2007, 02:38 PM |

Bandar Sungai Long is near Kajang ... still in Klang Valley la. Anyway this morning with 60.48.x.x was fine, then after lunchtime the latency got worse and worse, 1000-ish ms. Tracert shows this:
Tracing route to us.logon.worldofwarcrft.com [209.85.51.151] over a maximum of 30 hops: 1 7 ms 2 ms 2 ms 192.168.1.1 2 19 ms 14 ms 13 ms 219.93.218.177 3 12 ms 13 ms 13 ms 219.93.217.237 4 19 ms 13 ms 13 ms 210.187.129.139 5 19 ms 14 ms 13 ms 202.188.126.132 6 20 ms 13 ms 14 ms 58.27.124.42 7 18 ms 13 ms 13 ms 219.93.173.133 8 218 ms 212 ms 212 ms 219.93.153.150 9 217 ms 218 ms 220 ms g3-1.core01.sjc03.atlas.cogentco.com [154.54.12.1] 10 220 ms 213 ms 215 ms v3493.mpd01.sjc01.atlas.cogentco.com [154.54.6.109] 11 219 ms 213 ms 221 ms g11-0-0.core01.sjc01.atlas.cogentco.com [154.54.6.90] 12 694 ms 716 ms 614 ms p14-0.core01.iah01.atlas.cogentco.com [66.28.4.237] 13 636 ms 716 ms 716 ms v3827.na22.b015619-0.iah01.atlas.cogentco.com [66.28.65.110] 14 637 ms 614 ms 716 ms everyones-ineternet.demarc.cogentco.com [38.99.215.154] 15 637 ms 614 ms 614 ms gphou2-209-85-1-28.ev1servers.net [209.85.1.28] 16 632 ms 628 ms 602 ms gphou2-209-85-0-113.ev1servers.net [209.85.0.113] 17 618 ms 597 ms 625 ms 209-85-51-151.opticaljungle.com [209.85.51.151] Trace complete. |

218.111 is the best 300-500ms, I had that for a few days, constant good ping and regretted I turned off the computer last night. Almost impossible to get back, but I'm gonna keep trying. 218.208 is giving me 750-900ms now 219.94, 219.95, also giving me 800-1000ms with constant timeouts. |

no successful acquisition of ip 218-ish, so far throughout all my dc anc rc efforts, i couldnt get it, not even once... 219.95.** and 219.95.*** -ish ips are NOT playable. AT ALL. With loads of lag spikes, ping exceeding 20k, as well as constant disconnection... |

agreed,
for shah alam, klang subang jaya and nearby other places the best is 218.111.xxx.xx , with 218.208 seconds... but 219.95. is TOTALLY no WOW...as that was the reason why i quit WOW last time, but givin it another shot of try |
