QUOTE(leinnz @ Mar 17 2017, 01:19 PM) is your rim intended to use tubeless?not all rims are tubeless. even if you use a good rim tape, you might have leak for this My friend was in the same situation as you. He bought a Schrader tubeless valve, and did the conversion himself. Worked ok for him so far.

QUOTE(carnine9 @ Mar 18 2017, 03:42 AM) Hi, im beginner in MTB sport. Wanna ask, i bought Mavic Notch trail Helmet online. It ok for me. Nice helmet but i choose wrong size. But boleh pakai cuma tak fit. Ada cara lain tak nak bagi sedap pakai selain pakai cycling cap kat dalam ? Sorry im poor English. Can speed, but if nak lompat2 or offroad agak tak puas. Anybody here hv mavic notch helmet ? Sorry noob question. Can try using sponge tape like the pic attached. I got it from ace hardware and DIY-ed on a helmet that was a bit too big as well. FYI, all helmet shell are the same size. The factory padding is the part that actually determines the fit size. Attached thumbnail(s)

QUOTE(Mr. Z @ Mar 30 2017, 01:52 PM) Hi all, Recently saw some second hand MTB dirt jumpers and am for sale at quite an affordable price on BBS. Wonder if its safe to buy for a bike saw 10 years old? I am worried about the frame's wear and tear due to it being a trail bike. You want to buy a dirt jump bike for trail use? If yes, not a good idea because it's not designed to be pedalled over mid to long distances. In any case, you should check for cracks or bad dents before buying any old bike. Alu or steel bikes can last a long time but sometimes you can't really tell if it will break down tmr or last another 10 years.

QUOTE(Mr. Z @ Mar 30 2017, 02:02 PM) I m sorta interested in BMX style bike, as I ride alot on street. But I would also like to be able to bring it out to a trail when my friend ajak. I understand that I might not be able to be best at either one, so I m willing to compromise in certain aspect. I saw some bikes from Da Bomb and Dartmoor which seems to be a little like a Jack of all trades. So i m thinking along that line. Let me know what your thoughts are, thanks. Ahh then you should consider a hardtail MTB instead of a dirt jump or BMX bike. You can take a MTB to go on trails and still do jumps quite ok. With a dirt jump bike or BMX, you will not be able to pedal at all because the seat is way too low and the geometry is not designed at all for going up or down trails. It's really just for street or bike parks. Dartmoor is a good brand to start off for hardtail MTBs. Check out the Hornet or Primal. Not sure about Da Bomb bikes because don't really see them around.

QUOTE(croomaniac @ Apr 6 2017, 04:20 PM) Thanks, nanti aku check it out Nope, bukan takut, just that last resort of protection. Carbon has different characteristics than allu or titanium.. the outer part, especially must be well taken care off.. I will trust my bike, as always and these frame protector will act as the last protector against small small scratches.. at least it'll not affect the outer resin.. But if still jatuh bodoh, well too bad so sad.. Can also check out invisiframe online. They sell pre-cut films that has more coverage and easier to stick on.

QUOTE(leinnz @ Apr 6 2017, 05:27 PM) but putting this item will make the bike same like an alu bike. maybe i am wrong u use carbon frame to have a lighter bike. but putting the protection will make it heavier which might cost the same if use an alu frame Errr... don't think the clear film will weight like 200 to 300gms more bro.

Yes, i do find the price a bit steep also. Stealth reverb also around same price now i think. Honestly, would rather buy Reverb because there is a proper distributor with service centre.

QUOTE(miaopurr @ Apr 20 2017, 01:30 PM) everybody says, what matters is the rider. but nobody considers the quality, warranty, value, durability, etc, when shopping for a bike? those criteria not important? tak paham aku. until how skillful or terer u wanna be until u can buy a good branded bike? cermin diri, nak dapat strava top 50 pun macam berangan je haha ada duit beli je a good bike, the best u can afford. don't listen to those pipu jelly no money like u Exactly. Buy what you like as long its in your favourite colour! There are bikes that suit your riding style, trails and budget. More importantly, "better" bikes makes the experience a lot nicer. If you're joining an XC race, you don't want to be riding a 14kg 160mm travel full sus bike. Likewise, if you want to bomb down Kiara often, surely you want more than a 120mm travel HT to enjoy the ride?

QUOTE(miaopurr @ Apr 20 2017, 02:23 PM) i'd buy something else other than reverb. just because the distro here is jacking up the price suka hati. If you go pedalspot, it is usually 15% off the sticker price. Don't know how much is current price now though, but i was told a while back that it was 2k+ because of currency fluctuations for the stealth model.

QUOTE(miaopurr @ Apr 20 2017, 02:42 PM) that's about right. still more expensive than fox. pedalspost BS je la. MYR drop, terus jacked the price of items in stock. macam la they bought those items in stock at future currency exchange rate. i'm talking about those ibis frames on display and rockshox items. that time, it was the first quarter of 2016. when myr collapsed, suddenly price semua naik. but they told me, next rockshox shipment due end of the year. so, how come USD naik, items already in stock even before first quarter 2016 oso naik harga? ????????? Lol. Sebab kompeni bapak dia sole distributor of sram. They can control the price now. Dulu when got two distributor with GH, always price war. No more now.

QUOTE(ahchat @ Apr 20 2017, 03:05 PM) that's why people opted for fox transfer, preferably from samy bikeshop..there can get 1.2k, cash+sweet talk sampai rosak gigi Wow. Seems like a good deal, but still quite new. Gooding or not? QUOTE ive used 2 reverb previously, both were external cables, and both got same problem after 1 year, slow, not smooth and freeplay...even after service, rebleed, increase air pressure...I don't know bout d current gen of reverb though, the one with rockshox wording etched near the saddle mount...
fall line dropper post are sold by those guys from AGS mtb group...around 1.8k
keen on trying, but im gonna wait somebody to use it first, see how tongue.gif My reverb also same same. Bought a stealth about 2 years ago. Not smooth and slides down a bit after a while. At least the good thing is that I could bring it back to pedalspot to get it serviced for free since still got warranty. Still ok for now.

QUOTE(shadow111 @ May 22 2017, 10:46 AM) Spec wise (without considering the brand), does tropix is more value for money? Any input are much appreciated. Thanks. Do you actually know what is the difference between deore and xt? Have you tried either before? The real question is actually will this be your last bike? Both bikes are ok introductory bikes but with limited upgrade potential. If you really like mtb, you will eventually get a better bike. That usually means a better frame or complete bike altogether.

QUOTE(shadow111 @ May 22 2017, 11:39 AM) I'm totally new on this.. My only knowledge is from google.. Once I start to venture into this, then only will I know whether I'll invest more in future.. Or it will just be a leisure past time for me. Honestly I think most people can't tell the difference between Deore, SLX or XT. Me included. Some claim XT is "smoother and faster" but try to ask them to do a blind test with all 3 groupsets. I wonder how many can actually identify which is which. Lol. I think best option for you now is not to buy new. Go to bicyclebuysell.com and look at 2nd hand bikes within your budget and area. Find something you like and nego kau kau. Buy it and ride it until you get the itch to upgrade... or get bored of it and keep it in your house for the next 6 months.

QUOTE(SHOfrE3zE @ May 23 2017, 11:25 AM) guys can recommend me a front light for night riding? there's so many of those china brand selling locally but i prefer something that lasts, bright and doesn't break the bank. I'm using this brand called Moon. Check it out. Price is quite decent. I bought from K2C in Sunway. I've also bought those cheap China lights that you connect to an external batt from BBS. Still working well and bright as hell.

QUOTE(MjMax15 @ May 22 2017, 04:15 PM) my 1st bike is deore never ride xt xtr my guess only 1) efficient gear shift? 2) lighter <- these mainly i heard from fellow seasoned rider just my opinion here for new bike since it come with better model but for frame not easy to guess unless ride it and feel the weight I've used SLX and XT before. Apart from pyshical and weight differences, I couldn't tell the difference in performance really while on the trail. After I switched to X01, I wont use Shimano anymore. Shimano just feel so wooden and dead. Shifting with SRAM is so much more satisfying. Lol.
