My friend was in the same situation as you. He bought a Schrader tubeless valve, and did the conversion himself. Worked ok for him so far.

Can try using sponge tape like the pic attached. I got it from ace hardware and DIY-ed on a helmet that was a bit too big as well. FYI, all helmet shell are the same size. The factory padding is the part that actually determines the fit size.

You want to buy a dirt jump bike for trail use? If yes, not a good idea because it's not designed to be pedalled over mid to long distances. In any case, you should check for cracks or bad dents before buying any old bike. Alu or steel bikes can last a long time but sometimes you can't really tell if it will break down tmr or last another 10 years.

Ahh then you should consider a hardtail MTB instead of a dirt jump or BMX bike. You can take a MTB to go on trails and still do jumps quite ok. With a dirt jump bike or BMX, you will not be able to pedal at all because the seat is way too low and the geometry is not designed at all for going up or down trails. It's really just for street or bike parks.

Dartmoor is a good brand to start off for hardtail MTBs. Check out the Hornet or Primal. Not sure about Da Bomb bikes because don't really see them around.

There are bikes that suit your riding style, trails and budget. More importantly, "better" bikes makes the experience a lot nicer. If you're joining an XC race, you don't want to be riding a 14kg 160mm travel full sus bike. Likewise, if you want to bomb down Kiara often, surely you want more than a 120mm travel HT to enjoy the ride?

My reverb also same same. Bought a stealth about 2 years ago. Not smooth and slides down a bit after a while. At least the good thing is that I could bring it back to pedalspot to get it serviced for free since still got warranty. Still ok for now.

Do you actually know what is the difference between deore and xt? Have you tried either before?

The real question is actually will this be your last bike? Both bikes are ok introductory bikes but with limited upgrade potential. If you really like mtb, you will eventually get a better bike. That usually means a better frame or complete bike altogether.

Honestly I think most people can't tell the difference between Deore, SLX or XT. Me included. Some claim XT is "smoother and faster" but try to ask them to do a blind test with all 3 groupsets. I wonder how many can actually identify which is which. Lol.

I think best option for you now is not to buy new. Go to bicyclebuysell.com and look at 2nd hand bikes within your budget and area. Find something you like and nego kau kau. Buy it and ride it until you get the itch to upgrade... or get bored of it and keep it in your house for the next 6 months.

I'm using this brand called Moon. Check it out. Price is quite decent. I bought from K2C in Sunway. I've also bought those cheap China lights that you connect to an external batt from BBS. Still working well and bright as hell.

I've used SLX and XT before. Apart from pyshical and weight differences, I couldn't tell the difference in performance really while on the trail. After I switched to X01, I wont use Shimano anymore. Shimano just feel so wooden and dead. Shifting with SRAM is so much more satisfying. Lol.
