WTA: this morning I applied JOP card online

Normally how long I need to wait for approval?
*
Online means SCB website? For my card, from providing all the CORRECT documents till approval, one week. Why I say correct? I provided my payslip, and they say need Epf statement, so they sent the agent come to print using the Epf device. Took another 2 days for agent to come. So after they confirmed have received all the necessary docs for processing, 1 week time.

QUOTE(JuneResources @ Nov 27 2018, 09:15 AM)
Ok, thanks for your advice.
Let's see after 90 days...  brows.gif
Ok, then like that I put this card to the drawer since it need take 90 days..

While for normal monthly cashback, the cashback online rewards still haven't redeem. I spend on October, but until now (already Nov) haven't receive cashback online at my account there.
*
It will not appear under your card. U need to go "my rewards" to see it.

Hmm... I definitely see a pattern here. Seems like those who applied via 3rd party website like RinggitPlus & CompareHero are having their applications delayed for no reason. hmm.gif
*
I applied through RP. Was fast. The Price Solution lady follow up for me from beginning till end. Even after I got my card, she also called me to confirm receive.

One thing I hate about her though. She is quite rude, from the way she speaks. I applied for JOP, and wanted to get the CBP as well. She was like "oh now u want CBP or JOP". And when I told her I want both, she say "why never fill it in the form, now I must get back the form from my manager to fill in". Ppl give her business, she pulak so rude. If not because of Bigpay, I won't bother also.

If I were you, I will tell her to cancel your application and you will apply again with another person. See if her tone will change or not because it affects her commission.

Mine one on another hand was totally opposite from your case, I applied for JOP and when she called, she asked if I will be interested with CB Gold (now LFC CB). I declined initially because I already have one as a supplementary from my sister, she convinced me to have my own card as I can manage everything myself. I agreed with her because my sister has to help me everything for supplementary issues. Then, after I accepted that she offered me WorldMiles too and which I accepted eventually. At the end, form only filled in for one card but got three cards eventually. laugh.gif
*
Well its the way she speaks. I've dealt with more difficult ppl before. So no harm, because 2 days after I got my card, she called me during office hours to confirm that I have received the card. Ok also la.

Lucky you! I just managed to top up 7 x RM100 just now and didnt get any cashback at all.
And seems like my problem topping up BP with SC JOP is resolved now...
*
I remember someone in forum saying max twice a day. So once reach 7*100 and gotten twice, I stopped already.

Oh and by the way, I didn't topup all 7 in one go. I did in a spread of 30mins once

Did you guys top up big pay with JOP then withdraw it out after getting cashback? Any chances will get barred on Big Pay card if just for topup and withdraw in routine?
*
Not sure can discuss BP here or not.

Just topup BP, transfer to boost (considered payment to boost), then withdraw from there lo. Or if u know a little more (do some research yourself), u can withdraw from somewhere else..

I got rejected, reason given is because I have a company credit card for company expenses, which the company pays for. However, it will still show up when the banks do a credit check, and Standard Chartered is very strict, according to the sales person, as long as your spending is more than 70% of your salary, it doesn't matter about whether you pay promptly / what assets you have / etc, you will be rejected. That's why I was asking about FD pledge.
*
hmm weird. credit cards never reject me. I have a company credit card with a credit limit of USD 20k. but of course I only use when on business trip.

as for personal expesnes through facilities, my spending is more than 100% of my salary (car loan + ptptn + insurance + amex + Barca + qmc) still SCB approves me. of coz most of those expenses are those I topup bigpay previously. lol

my friend has a housing loan, car loan and cards to roll bigpay too. SCB also approve him.

anyway as long as your credit rating is good, bank will give u the cards

So it is possible to cash out the Cashback to saving accounts?
Or cashback will go back to the credit card only.
*
Why do u want to cash back to savings? There's actually not much difference whether direct to credit card or to savings, except u get some money to spend if it goes to savings. U still have to pay your credit card later.

Go to credit card as cash back, u pay lesser to your card. Go to your savings, u pay full for your credit card. No difference.

QUOTE(savvyaunty @ Apr 11 2019, 04:09 PM)
offset is to counteract (something) by having an equal and opposite force or effect

I said offset with some rebate which means the rebate is used to offset the SST charges. As I know, banks never call it a waiver for SST because they are legally required to collect the SST on behalf of the government. Just like many users posted months ago, banks position some form of rebate for users to offset their SST charges.
*
Yes u can. Just ignore him. He is easily TL when people asks questions without using the search button, or dislikes it when people asks questions without trying to find out. He never thought that maybe some other people may have tried and knows it, but just didn't share out since nobody asks. He thought everyone is like him sitting in front of lowyat forum, will immediately share anything on the forum. Anyway he's a very informative person.

Anyway on your question, for whatever credit cards u have with whatever banks, you can definitely request for a SST rebate. Just make sure to use rebate instead of waiver, since nobody is allowed to waive taxes. Whether the bank wants to give u a rebate or not, is up to their discretion. But u can definitely call bank to request for SST rebate. No issues.

tried calling SCB but they outright refuse to give any rebate although when I signed up sales agent said just call and ask. all other banks have been generous also. Just trying to check if everyone else is having the same issue with SCB
*
Not gonna call u to stop whining but David has a point there. Upto banks to decide lo. Like last time I used uob one card many years back, I call bank to waive my annual fee and give me sst rebate, they told me on the spot that they approve my annual fee waiver and sst rebate, for 3 years. Meaning every year waive annual fee and auto help me pay sst. Citibank pulak give me on yearly basis. Don't want give me straight 3 years. Haha nothing I can do. Every year call citi lo until I cancel, they say we can give u 3 years annual fee waiver and gst rebate, I told them now gst era, not annual fee jao no gst. Apa rebate. Direct cancel the card.

QUOTE(David83 @ Apr 11 2019, 07:21 PM)
Have you read this last statement on "Whether the bank wants to give u a rebate or not, is up to their discretion."?

Stop whining here!
It's easy as you want to use the card, pay for it.
If you feel that you have been cheated and other banks are more generous in absorbing it, cancel the card and move on.
*
Haha. Mai like that. Give chance to him/her. Some ppl need pay rm25, they go crazy. For me I earn cb from the card. Cannot rebate biar pi. Give some, gain more.

UOB has been generous in their retention offer.
However, they're not that generous in their acquisition offer which I'm a little TL (hokkien) with them!
*
In truth la, uob gave me a lot, for being my first credit card. When I first applied, agent give me free power bank, then approved give 2 giant luggage bag. Then use 1000 within 30 days, rm100 cash rebate. Direct swipe 1k pay my ACCA membership and paper. But then, they go down hill. Love the vox card + one card back then. Best in the market for online + petrol. Swipe ACCA get 5% cash back, get 100 cash rebate again. Happy die me

Absolutely agree that every bank has got their own policy on rebates and stuff. I guess the annoying part is when you get induce into signing up for something but when charges come there is no way to waive it despite any earlier representation. The worst is on live chat, CS say cancel also need to pay SST but call centre CS say cancel don't need to pay.

RM25 is worth paying for cards like M2Card and FCB which gives tonnes of cashback. My SCB cards give absolutely no value (not cashback ones) and CS on call centre kept insisting I don't cancel the cards. A good friend just got her SST rebate earlier last week. Hence, I'm checking if anyone else here has the same issue.
*
want rebates, follow what fruitie says below. how to get, please refer bigpay thread post #1. read #1 still don't understand, have queries, use search function. 99% of the questions have been asked before so you should get all the answers there.

Guess it's time to move my auto billing insurance from Maybank Barcelona to Standard Chartered. Not really a big issue, but kinda painful. (RM85 - RM60) x 12 = RM300 gone.

Guess all good things must end. Somemore the RM250 annual fee.

don't forget your sst rm25.

QUOTE(janson_kaniaz @ Jun 7 2019, 09:32 PM)
u should add what is the effective % cashback. thanks for the effort anyway.
*
effective cash back rate is 445 / 30000 = 1.483%. I'd say it's still better than many cards.

but then, when u can maximise the cash back amount, we don't really care about the rates. rm60 per month or rm37 after af and sst. still okay ma. who knows, we may get af waiver and sst rebate.

gonna have to apply for yolo card to soften the blow from stand chart. sien.
