yes i have already went through the final stages of the interview...but due to economic recession as they put it, my results is known only until june...better than  the rest of my friends that received rejection letter.

anyway i am keeping mum since i am switching to a new job and prefer to spend at least 6 months - 1 year before going to slb.

All right... Probably I can try to answer why your results will only be known after June. Most likely you are one of the confirmed since you told me rest of your pals got the rejection letters... They already laid off a certain percentage of ppl due to the economy slowdown and the low oil prices... They are monitoring whats happening till Q2 before deciding what they want to do next... Lay off more ppl? Or economy is getting better... Lets hire the minimum amount so they are fully trained once the economy recovers...

Since you want to work for your current company for a year, maybe you SHOULD inform your recruiter about your situation. He/ she should be very approachable and friendly... But then again, these are my 2 cents of opinions smile.gif

@ChoonG,
Thanks for the info. Not sure it will leave a dark record since flunked the first time@ 3rd round.
Is it a good time to apply SLB now?

Hey sunny... I am not sure if they keep a record of your previous interviews... Most likely they do but they wont remember... Haha... Getting to 3rd round is pretty good... Why would you be in the blacklist?

Hmm... Not only O&G is slow... All companies are looking at freezing employments to cut cost... The best time to apply for O&G is always when the oil price is high, say USD70/barrel and above... haha... but then again, these are my personal opinions icon_idea.gif

I will, once end of may comes around, I think they shouldn't mind right since the recruitment is every year?

when did you went for the 4th stage interview? is it in Jan? which division you got when interview? Is it well service? The rest of your friends that received the rejection letter, all are also from well service division or other divisions?

so far... me and my friends who went for the wireline and drilling interview still did not get any mail yet. only one of my friend who went for well service only got the email as u said which need to wait till June. rclxub.gif

due to time constraint since mine is well testing, the manager decided to skip a stage of the interview( going to offshore) and proceed with the final round(interview with the manager).mine was back in january or february.

my friend find out the email for the manager and email him asking the result and he in turn asked the klrecruiter to reply back to us.

I guess if you asked for updates you then received an email from them?

why don't you contact the kl recruiter for it? although don't get your hopes high since we all know that they are dismissing people.

I can't divulge the name of the company, but the position is analyst that does market trend for oil and gas market.the job is interesting as you have to stay on top of the economic trend, political and government policy and all that.

and it is already my third job since graduating and i'm trying to improve my employment record. that is why i prefer to stay at least 1 year before going.

and how about yours? have you called the recruiter?

i think you can find a better option out there, and don't focused that much on o&g.

my first two jobs are unrelated to o&g,

first is maintenance eng, second is an enve consultant and third is analyst...have no idea what's next...

expand you views... this is the time not to be choosy.

yeah i think milleu is right, kira... SLB should be one of your choice and should not stop you from looking at other opportunities... You should start looking somewhere else and start working if needed... Once SLB confirms that you are hired, then you can leave your job... I left my first job after 1 and a half months... hehe... If SLB wants you, they will wait for you...

you can only reapply after a year.that's why it's saying your application is a dupe.

I don't think there's only 1 recruiter.the one that was present in all my interview was fauziah. so whenever i called slb i asked to speak with her and so far she's always available.

to kira: doesn't matter if you're specialized in petroleum , you could always venture outside of the scope. just apply everything that requires eng skills, and yes that even include management trainee for banks or anything under the sun.

hahaha I know when I went for the interviews everyone seems so "poyo" acting like god i got this interview, i'm better that the rest of you, type of attitude. i'm pretty sure that lady is a noob, with the backpack and all that.

hi guys,

i just went interview for network analyst at schlumberger and the pay offered is quite good but still dunno whether i'm successful or not yet. as i m working at a GLC company right now so the pay offered is definitely lower, the question is im doing SAP basis right now and most probably in the future down the road 3 - 5 years i'd get cert and xp in this area which would mean a lot of money outside there in the market than maybe compared to working at SLB(not sure of this) therefore just wanna ask is it a good decision to leave rite now and go work for SLB.

hope somebody from SLB IT dept can help me answer this.

thanks all.

the thing is guys, I didnt apply for the Mech-1 post or anything. It is a technician's post. They called me out of nowhere and I just went for the interview and only to be disappoint in the end by saying my qualifications exceeds for some they're looking for. I don't mind to start as a technician at all. At least I can learn lotsa knowledge.

There were tests on theory and practical. I did great on the practical side more than theory. Well at least, that was what the evaluator told me.

Just curious, it doesn't have got anything to do with a family member/relatives working in SLB rite? What if I have someone working inside?

I don't think having connection makes a different. As far I know, everyone I know hired by slb is hired by their own merit.

I know a guy that was rejected for FE because they said he has too high qualification and should go into R&D dept but the guy want to experience the offshore life.So I guess they really don't hire anyone that have higher in term of qualification for positions.
