Hey Bro, thank you very much answering my questions!  thumbup.gif Learned much from you. I really appreciate the fact that you're good yet you're humble and willing to share. It is good to have you in this Nikon thread.  thumbup.gif

And your Nikon D800 + 24-70 f2.8 is a killer combo for wedding....make my heart so itchy to want to jump to full frame from apsc.  rclxub.gif But than, I want to upgrade my skill first before I upgrade my gear.  nod.gif

laugh.gif You are too kind la.. Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any questions ya, there are many sifus here also whom I've learnt from since many years ago too rclxms.gif

Well if you ask me, if you are very very sure about your passion for photography, and if your budget permits, by all means go for one thumbup.gif I actually did the same thing (upgrading straight from D90) and I never regretted it; in fact it actually helped me learnt faster. Just don't upgrade and then leave the gears in the bag, as that would be a waste cry.gif cry.gif

Just go for it!

I jumped to FF from D5300 for the past one year. All I can say is that as long as you shoot once every few days, your skills will definitely go skyrocket too rclxm9.gif

Thanks bro. Finally, I just wanna ask, do you use the bounce card that came with the flash at all when you bounce from the wall ? And the zoom setting of the flash (not the lens) , did you leave it at auto ?

Don't go for D600. It has the oil shutter issue. D610 is fine. biggrin.gif

Hihi sorry for the late response haha, was covering another wedding the other day sweat.gif
With regards to the bounce card, I use them differently depending on the situation (which is a bit hard to put in words).
I generally will not use the bounce card at all if I can bounce my flash off white walls behind, beside or above me (in this order). However, in many cases you may have no choice (room ceiling too high/ walls not white in color/ no walls etc.), then I would use my bounce card (assuming I don't have the chance to set up light stands). Even when I do, I always make sure that the bounce card (with flash shooting upwards) is not 'facing directly' at the subject, i.e. I will tilt the bounce card a bit 45-60 degrees. If I am shooting out in the open with nothing to bounce from, I will use a larger DIY bounce card (A4 size), as the larger reflective surface will mean slightly softer light. This is the last resort though, and the resulting photos will not be very nice haha laugh.gif

PS: sometimes I do not pull out entirely the bounce card, in some cases you can get better results by pulling the bounce card out only by a bit; useful to produce a bit of catch-lights in the eyes of the subjects without messing up the exposure

haha noneed to be so courteous, just sharing some of my own experience icon_rolleyes.gif But the way you bounce your flash (where and how) will need a lot of experience. One easy way to learn it is to put a subject at the center of a room, and try bouncing your flash and learn from there which types of reflections (with or without bounce card) give the best results. The general rule is always bounce the light off white walls (don't bother with black or other colored walls because they will mess up your photos)- hopefully this will help make things easier.

I'm happy to know that you are reading and learning from tutorials from the web. I use to do that alot and learnt tonnes from there... I have been getting more and more lazy recently and thank you for the wake up call notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

This "FF" thing is overrated. "FF" doesn't make your photos magical.

If you keep thinking "FF" better than "APS-C" then sorry la, you're already setting a mental block for yourself.

Well said ! Agree with you on this smile.gif

I've seen a lot users praised FF for it's superiority, they did not look down/despise on cropped sensors but rather give the vibe that 'If you want better pics, then FF is the only way...'

IMHO not every camera enthusiast can afford FF bodies, let alone the FF f/2.8 lenses ohmy.gif

It's always about how the photog takes the photo rather than what is the gear being used thumbup.gif although gear plays a certain part in the photo creation process but having a A1 gear doens't guarantees A1 photos thumbsup.gif

Can't even tell them apart, nowadays both also doing so well at high ISO.

I'm aiming to get a D500 now instead of D850. biggrin.gif Key differences on APS-C vs FF these days comes down to DOF (on same aperture, APS-C has more) and reach (due to crop factor). DOF part is related to bokeh, of which APS-C needs to go a stop wider to attain same DOF as FF.

Noise wise they're so close you can't tell them apart. Sony Mirrorless are APS-C (A6xxx series) and Fuji cameras are also APS-C. Both of them are awesome stuff.

If we go by "bigger is better" then there's always Medium Format and Large Format. biggrin.gif They make FF (35mm) and APS-C (which isn't too far from 35mm) look tiny.

Bojio! Should turn on car lights, the effect will be more dramatic!
I noticed these kind of shots will benefit from editing in some long exposure light trails so that they won't look too plain rclxms.gif

When is the next car shoot? lol wkwong91 please prepare this: laugh.gif laugh.gif
