Hi guys, I was wondering how did you guys handle any old gear for upgrading? I still have my D3100 and after helping my friend get a D3400 I realized I haven't been keeping up with the trends and my body is quite outdated (lack of mic input, snapbridge etc.).
So I was wondering if you guys have any tips on reselling old DSLR bodies? How much should I expect, is it worth selling at all, who would be buying 2nd hand etc?

Tips? Do some market research on D3100, see their pricing and condition. Then decide whether it meets your expectation or not.
Worth selling or not? Depends on how you value it. Think, whether you rather keep it in your camera bag or exchange it for that $$$.
Who will buy? Those people who are looking to buy older generation cameras that still works at the fraction of their budget. (I bought all my lens and body used)
Lastly, a crucial question to ask yourself, do you actually need all those features? Whether its D3100 or D3400, they still take great pictures, well that depends on the person who press the shutter button though.
I totally agree with what bro JohnDiew0107 said btw bro BenSow the D3100 is not really fetching a good price nowadays...KLDSLR.com is only selling it for RM 400++ for a used body...
I have a noob question to all sifus here, I am using the D7100 that runs on Nikon's EL15 battery but recently I have an issue with my 3rd party Viloso branded battery with my original MH-25 charger.
The orange charge LED is flickering instead of blinking slowly, any sifu here knows the reason? Is the battery KOed?
well if the charger can charge the EL15 fine, then the answer will very likely be 3rd party battery prob...if not then charger prob. i will never use 3rd party batts anyway.
Haha bro you're here too ah thanks for the info, time for new battery then
ya i used to be here la, but boring already the whole section the EL15 should be able to easily get u 1000 shots...u shooting video ah? buy another EL15 la.
Haha ! That time was low on budget and needed an extra battery that's why I'm shooting photos most of the time
Hi all, do you know where can i repair my nikon d3100 in selangor/kl. i was suspecting mirror is broken because when i capture a photo, half upper side in photo turn black.
It happens regardless on what shutter speed you're using?
Not to question your knowledge but I've had similar incident where my photos appear half only as the shutter speed used was too fast...
FYI repair should be able to be done by Nikon Centre in KL
Anyway to fix the dust inside camera? Since sometimes ago, i can see black dot and hair from the viewfinder, but it doesn't affect the quality of picture....
I try to clean it with a rocket blower... but failed
And recently i found those dust like getting more
Please help or any recommended shop in Penang Island can fix this?
D5300~~
TQ
I have the exact problem with my D5300 as well it's the dust specks in the pentamirror so you can't really do anything without taking the camera apart, it will eventually come back even if you did take it apart and clean it...
So my advise is to live with it as it does not affect image quality
- Same sensor and processing unit as D500 (ISO 100-51200 | 20.9 MP) - 8 fps 14-bit 50 RAW buffer - Multi-CAM 3500 II (used in D4S) - 4K video (Max recording 30min) - Tilty-swively screen! - 2nd SD card slot removed
This "FF" thing is overrated. "FF" doesn't make your photos magical.
If you keep thinking "FF" better than "APS-C" then sorry la, you're already setting a mental block for yourself.
Well said ! Agree with you on this
I've seen a lot users praised FF for it's superiority, they did not look down/despise on cropped sensors but rather give the vibe that 'If you want better pics, then FF is the only way...'
IMHO not every camera enthusiast can afford FF bodies, let alone the FF f/2.8 lenses
It's always about how the photog takes the photo rather than what is the gear being used although gear plays a certain part in the photo creation process but having a A1 gear doens't guarantees A1 photos
