The bokeh looks very nice! How do you find this lens?

Which Nikon Z camera are you using? How do you find it compared to your DSLR?
*
Z8. It's okay lar, suitable now that the size is similar to my DSLRs.

Plena is nice, I bought a few other lenses as well.

I used Nikon Capture before and found it lacking. I switched to GIMP, ON1.

Capture has a new brother NX Studio. It is good for basic editing. Dont think it supports masking etc. Using Nikon raw files is a breeze.

Have a look at this. Not as powerful as Lightroom, Photoshop etc. But packed with features and it is FREE!

I wonder how many Nikonians here are using NX Studio.

Appreciate feedback from those who are using Tamron 35-150 mm lens, the good and the bad, will you recommend it?

Cheerio.

its heavy and big. both pro & cons.

the range is awkward but should be enough for a travel lens if the weight is bearable.
it is f2.0 on the wide (35mm) and goes to f2.8 starting 85mm.
sharpness is good, edge to edge.

good feature: customizeable button on the lens.

price wise, it is somehow "in the middle" on it's focal-range-to-price range

Thanks.

Price is on the high side. Any sellers I should monitor for better pricing?

I got the 150-500 mm and I am impressed by it despite its weight. Ha.

Doesn't seem to be worth the money, the 24-120mm is lighter and smaller haha.

some people who can afford the money
will always choose the f2.8 over the f4

that is just the norm for people, 2 times faster shutter is always appreciated imho

There's a difference between being able to afford it and being smart about it.

That 35-150 mm is second best to me (24-150 will be better). I don't like changing lenses, so I like this lens that will do the job of 3-4 prime lenses (though not as good as the primes).

It is heavy but better than carrying 3 prime lenses.

The wide aperture is a plus.

Still won't be as nice as the primes individually.

Cant argue with you on this.

But IQ is rather subjective. At least one wedding sifu has switched from 2 G Masters to 35-150 mm Tamron, admitting some shots are not as good as the primes. However, the versatility, convenience, etc. outweigh his switch. I agree with him.

Say a prime shot is 9.5/10 10 while this Tamron shot gets ~9/10. As a hobbyist, I don't mind losing this 0.5-1 Ha.

By the way, why are lens prices more expensive in Malaysia than in overseas Western countries? I know the grey product penalty.

If you dun do heavy crop and dun need edge to edge, the 35-150mm is a very good lens.

Not just IQ but size as well. Anyway imo wedding ppl prefer using 2 bodies + 2 lenses rather than rely on a single body type.

You say the lenses here more expensive but compared to places like Thailand and Singapore, they are affordable.

Thanks.

Mind sharing why one will need to do more cropping with this lens, besides the blurry edges?

What i mean is cropping to magnify subject or frame it during post processing as needed.

I see. But why this lens? I thought that would apply to any lens if the shots were not as intended.

With the wide aperture, big focal range, etc., I won't have to worry about these settings; I can focus on the composition.
