Finally decided to get potentially my final Nikon DSLR body, a brand new D750 with a valid Nikon Malaysia warranty. Less than 5k so its a steal imo.

Originally wanted something more recent but a lot of the newer models are pretty much overpriced (780 at 7.8k litereally lol) and the Z series is a no go for me since the FTZ adapter doesn't support AF on my older AF-D lenses.

Do the bros here even know? Because nobody replied to you iirc.

I am also finding a shop to take a look at my old D80~ Err message which relates to the ACU?

Have you tried asking Vincent from Ving Son Camera Service Centre? His shop is located at Section 17.

Oh yes. I have a quick question.

I got a set of Extreme Pro UHS-I cards (thinking that the D750 was still available...).

Since I changed my purchase to the D780 which supports UHS-II, do these cards still work decently well? Assuming some 4K videoing and general still (non-burst) shots.

UHS-I and UHS-II should be backward compatible. But Nikon recommends UHS-III for 4K video recording.

Approved Memory Cards - D780

Ohhh thanks for the info!

You prefer DSLR to mirrorless?
*
Yeah~ love the handling.

Mirrorless system still not compelling yet at least to me. Maybe a few more generation lar~

Switched from DSLR to Z6ii. One of the best and most satisfying moves I made in my life. Ha.

Go to a shop or borrow one from a friend, try it in your hand and see.

But if you have many lenses you want to keep, then it is another story.
*
I would say that for a newcomer to the Nikon system, Z mount is the way to go. I have viewed some sample raws from a few of my friends who are on Z6/Z7 ii.... pretty okay. Sad about the prices though.

I guess I can only accept Z9 level kind of bodies lar.... pretty sure in a few gen time it will filter down eventually. tongue.gif

I plan to pick up a few more 2nd hand F mount lenses. Cheaper too. bruce.gif

grip part only or button layout too? hmm.gif

Viewfinder, battery life (although the C variant EL15 looks good), and... the FTZ.

Ngl, if the FTZ supports AF-D lenses fully, I might seriously consider! But cons outweigh the pros atm.

Nikon camera ergonomics are really great, the grip is really solid and nice to hold. I feel they are much better than Canon or Sony. I don't like the ergonomics on Sony cameras.
*
I tried the A7 a few years ago? I gave up after a while haha. Nice screen though.

Took my D780 out for a spin and so far it works pretty well on both live view and OVF mode.

I am wondering if Nikon plans to update the live view portion just like what they did for the Z cameras recently? I have doubts but hopefully I am wrong lar haha.

What is your FW version number now and when was it updated?

Maybe Santa Nikon is nice this year. Ha.
*
1.02

The FW was released earlier this year but it's just to fix some minor bugs haha.

I am generally quite impressed with the AF performance on Live View but I may be meeting a friend of mine this Sat so hopefully can see how his Z6 AF performance on 3.4 works in comparison.

With 1.02, can expect more major FW soon!

Yes, impressed with the live view capability. Please share the AF battle of D780 and Z6ii (stills and video)! Thanks.
*
Haha sure. Btw just found out its a Z6 not the II variant.

Will try haha, thanks. tongue.gif

They say with the latest FW for Z6, it is close to Z6 ii now.

I think there will be a major FW update for Z6 ii, eg the 3D live tracking. Rumour in Sept but nothing so far. That will ruin my Xmas and NY mood.
*
It was not available in the recent 3.4 FW?

Well depending on what you are shooting for Xmas/NY lar... tongue.gif

i would rather jump to z6ii because got SD card slot  hmm.gif

A bit sad though, the dual slot is not double SD slot but 1 with the XQD/CFExpress card which imo kinda overpriced for the supposed performance level.

So siapa winner of AF battle?

Mind asking your friend with Z6 to see how many burst photos (raw 14 bits, no jpg) till the buffer is full he can get with the latest Z6 FW?

Try with SD, XQD and CF cards. And their types.

Want to see if that is now equal to Z6ii.

Thanks.
*
Haha, actually end up just chilling and yumcha lol. I did test a bit with the 105mm and the speed of the AF is very impressive. I also like the electronic viewfinder, quite usable.

Sadly the ergonomics is a no no for me. Guess will wait for Z9 body type to filter down to the lower end models.

PS. The Z lenses are quite light!

I got about 70 burst shots (14 bits raw) on my SD card before the buffer was full and stopped it.

Do the test in a bright area so that shuttle speed will not affect the test. Say the speed is 1 sec, then it will not eat up the buffer as the 1 sec is more than enough for the processing and data transfer to the SD card.

Interested to know from other Nikon models too.

Pretty good already lar. Last time my cameras barely hit 20+ if ever.

3) crop sensor or FF , both seems okay for me since my main target is want a better ISO  hmm.gif
but then again if i get a camera i want more towards to future proof  rclxub.gif

It is not as if today's low light situations are any darker lol. Even previous gen cameras can easily handle situations like this.
