My CCTV guy said need 2 power sockets for the CCTV system. Can the 2 share the same socket using multi-plug socket?

Is vibration sensor waterproof? If not, any suggestion on how to prevent rain from affecting it? Thanks

Analogue cctv but use cat6. No wonder cheap cause use analogue and use cat6 instead of of RG cable. Probably installer plan to use balun instead and you prefer cheaper option. 3300++ if need to hack to conceal the cable. When i install 4 low end basic IP camera without HDD somemore and all surface piping already 2200 i charge my customer.

Means Cat 6 is a cheap type of cable? I am not really knowledgable on this networking stuff.

nobody uses balun nowadays, that was 15 years back ..

the thing you quoted from above reply iis not analogue DVR, its NVR (XVR variants) uses CAT6 and its digital .. far cheap and better than DVR since you dont need additional power adapters individually for each camera like older DVR's .. the power and signal is supplied together via CAT6 itself ..

RM2.8k is considerable price (depending on client's premise) ..i can get devices alone for RM2k and u install ureself tongue.gif

Thanks for the feedback. What about the alarm system?

RM2.3k to RM2.5k is reasonable price .. since, we installers dont make money on products, only manpower and depends on how hard it is ..

I installed once alarm system (16 zones) at Seremban (Waytha Moorthy's sister house biggrin.gif ) .. after than I dont go for alarm installations, I will just suggest wireless alarms for customers .. just plug, configure and play ..

Thank you

Ya, I am able to check the price at Lazada/Shopee, just the labour and installation part not so sure.

I got another quote

4 Channel
DVR HIK-VISION IDS7204HUHI-M1/S
1TB HDD
4x 5MP BULLET CAM NIK-VSION
4x RG59 coaxial

Yesterday one forumer mentioned about RG cable. Are those two system/spec comparable? without price comparison

Analog system use RG Cable better.

This is interesting. Actually I plan to relocate my Unifi point to the opposite wall. So I wonder if this is the reason both vendors propose different type of cable.

The first one using cat6 did a site visit and I informed him about relocating the Unifi point. However, the RG cable vendor has not visited my house and at that time, there is no place to relocate the unifi point. Would he change to cat6 cable too if he is aware of the Unifi point relocation? Or the choice of using cat6 vs RG cable is independant of the unifi point?

Camera will link to Decoder if Analog System
And link Decoder with Unifi Router using LAN cable (CAT6)

Are both these system Analog?

I want to install a wifi-based CCTV for inner courtyard. Looking for one that can be installed DIY (beginner level), can trigger notification to handphone apps, waterproof and has motion sensor. Already have a power socket for it and want to point it upwards towards opening at the roof. Any recommendation or suggestion? Thank you

Hi, should I wait for Unifi to be available before I install the CCTV and Alarm?

All wiring is done, just pending the camera, recorder and sensor installation. TM said the unifi insfrastructure is not ready. The house is currently empty but will start to move in furniture and appliances in 2-3 months of so.

If install now, the cctv can record but I am not able to view using apps and cannot control the alarm too.

Any thoughts?

I went overseas and changed my sim to local sim. Was able to view Hik CCTV, Tapo CCTV and control Blugard alarm using their respective apps. However, all connection is lost on the 6th day. I sent someone to my house to check and confirm there is electricty and wifi, all CCTV and alarm working as normal. I changed back to Malaysia sim upon return and still could not connect to the apps. Only when I arrived home and connect to house wifi, they are back to normal.

Anyone can explained what happened? Is it there is a cut off days that I need to connect to house wifi else everything become disabled?

How do I share my Tapo CCTV access to another user so that she is able to have equal control as I am? Current share function only allow minimal task, the shared user is not able to enter/exit privacy mode.

Is it possible to use my login details on another phone? I tried this but it keeps saying username/pwd is incorrect. Anyone able to share login details on 2 phones? Thanks
